It has long been, and I have to think will always be, my favorite Bowie album. For me, it's the best overall capturing of a sound, subgenre (they created?) and stylistic moment that he ever achieved; which is saying a great deal. It's the most consistent album of his, for me, with the one weak song being the one cover. I still don't get why he didn't use "Sweet Head" or at least "Velvet Goldmine" instead.
Tony Deep Freeze is the correct name for that POS...Anyway, this was beyond amazing to hear Ken Scott's inside knowledge, etc. I read his book but this was so much better! Just a note: Her mic was way louder than Ken's...I had to lower the volume when she spoke but especially when she laughed and the raise the volume up when Ken spoke and all the people that asked questions at the end.
Co producing….maybe! Writing……certainly not! And while I have great appreciation for what Ronson contributed to Bowie in that period, it is not to the extent to which you believe he had! But you tell me….which song did he write or co write? Throughout his career Bowie demanded and got only the best musicians, and he allowed them to bring forward their ideas on the sound and arrangement of the songs he wrote, that did not mean they had any recording or song writing rights! In some ways I feel sorry for Mick Ronson, because I believe he followed the wrong path, he tried to be a star but wasn’t star material! What he could have been was one of the greatest producer and arrangers ever!
@@Tawny6702 Well said. I think Mick was prompted by Defries to 'go solo'; he realised he wasn't a front man early on and was happier working with and supporting other people.
Awesome interview Thank you
Excellent! Thanks for sharing this interview/Q&A. Awesome material.

What a great interview. Wish I'd been there.
Brilliant he kept the beat between songs. The between songs edits, perhaps mash ups is the word on Diamond Dogs always impressed me.

Wonderful!
This was a wonderful event with Ken -- and Colleen is such an engaging host.
Excellent interview this!
Sitting on a Cornflake...waiting for the Band to come.
I knew the girl who did the lighting flash makeup
Mick Ronson should have also received both writing and co-producing credits on this album PERIOD! Just sayin...

You are so right, a really underated guitarist and driving force behind Bowie in the 71 73 era .
Yes. Bowie was crap when he got rid of Ronson. Just listen to Diamond Dogs, Station to Station, Low, Scary Monsters, Blackstar etc… Bloody rubbish!
Wrong. Bowie wrote ziggy stardust himself, without ronson. Check Arnold corns Ziggy versions. Done without ronson
Dancing gnome guy, can't believe anyone takes him seriously 😅🤣😂😭
The Bewlay Brothers. : ) Not Bully Brothers.
DJ's 😂😢😅
