Back home, Efren plays on some of the worse tables under extreme humidity at open air pool rooms. He plays with people literally crowding any unused space to see him play. He is used to conditions and as said in the video, he does not complain. He's totally kicked back.
Portland Oregon..Efron is the goat of goats a pro's pro, hands down just the best man to play the game. Not only skilled but his demeanor on and off the felt are second to none.
Being a nitpicker and wanting the cue ball cleaned and checking the rack, is just a sign of being spoiled and or immature, Efrin plays and wins with skill, and shows what is to be the one and only GOAT, what legends are made of. Hello, from Arkansas, U.S.A.
@rick343 Maybe. But some have little things like that to chnage the focus and get rid of nerves etc. He does seem a bit stuffy and stuck up after the match when he barely shook Efrens hand. Doesnt seem the trype to be appreciative of the old gaurd.
@@TheMagicianEfrenReyes I'm going to reply, even though I seriously doubt the great Efren Reyes is dropping me a reply comment, I'd say the pool players around here are about the same as any state, I grew up playing in my home state of California, I've lived and played for 20 years in Texas and New Mexico for 15 years, like everywhere else there's good and bad, If I really thought I was talking to " The Magician " I would fall out, I watch every game he's in on UA-cam, he sees and makes shots, nobody else even recognizes, truly amazing. It's hilarious when the announcer will proclaim what shot he's about to make, and embarrasses himself, because he was totally wrong, Efren is in a league of his own. The best player, by far.
i dont think checking the rack means they're immature, I think it is crucial for the ball to be tightly packed for the most optimum result as they will collide more 😅 That is why in some matches they rack their own rack.
I don’t even play pool, but I have been really enjoying watching the magician… Thank you from WA state, U.S. … if I get to the Philippines, I must check out pool! ✌🏼🐸
12:12 been there, done that. It was our National Championship in 2012. I was playing a semi final match with Ravie Tandol Depika when I missed the 9-ball in the fifth. I was leading 3-1 at that time and was about to go 4-1 ahead but fate has it against me. Ravie slot the 9-ball home and my lead was down to 4-2. He won the next, and the next and also the next. My missed-ball in his the fifth shattered my confidence and gradually lost the match.
Jeremy here from the state of Michigan in the United States. Efren doesn't mind the chalk on the cue because of how the game is played in the Philippines. There is always a pile of powder on the rails of the table which gets all over the table and balls. In essence he is used to it. 😂 I personally like a clean cue ball.
Yeah, he got used to it, you are exactly right especially when you play in Philippines setting, maybe that's the reason why he doesn't mind at all. Hello there in Michigan!
I'am from Kansas City Mo, l have been there with the same shoot and missed, l love Efren I watch him every chance I get As far as I'm concerned, he's the best that ever been.
Previously I didn't mind about a few chalk marks on the cue ball, but I watched a video showing how much it can throw off your shot if your cue ball contacts the object ball at one of the chalk points, and since then, I always prefer a clean ball. I use Taom chalk that almost never leaves a mark and if my opponent uses a different chalk, I clean the ball between games. The only time I have called for a cue ball to be cleaned during a game is when there is a hair on the ball. I know that in the Philippines, having a clean ball or even a clean table isn't that big of an issue, especially when it comes to hand chalk all over the table.
Watching from a country on the Adriatic Sean. Liked this match - very very close match. A couple of great jump shots gave Boyes the boost he needed at critical moments. But I remain an Efren Reyes loyal fan.
I’m encouraged when I see Efren miss a shot. First off, it reminds me that he is human and second; it tells me that I shouldn’t be too hard on myself when I miss because my own skills are about a thousand times less than Efren’s and even he is not perfect😊
Setiap olahraga pasti memiliki seorang legenda diatas legenda,,dalam billiard reyeslah orang tersebut,,,tak akan ada lagi seperti dia dalam waktu yang lama,,
I am watching from Jerusalem, Israel. EFREN REYES is the GOAT! No. I have never been in the situation of missing a game-winning easy shot. BUT Efren Reyes HAS. I have been watching him long enough to suspect that there are times when he appears to miss a shot on PURPOSE so that the opponent has a chance to catch up and make the match more interesting. I have watch so much that I am more than 90% certain that I am right.
Efran to pool is what Ronnie is to snooker,,, I like both sports but maybe I like snooker a bit more,,, Fun fact for pool fans who don’t know Ronnie o Sullivan, in the 1996 Mosconi cup he beat Earl Strickland, the thing is that not only was he a replacement for Jimmy White but he had never played 9 ball in his life, but because he is so talented and snooker tables are much bigger with very small pockets and balls that’s why he had no problem with angles etc…

extraordinary Filipino pool player Efren " Bata " Reyes' special skill " jump-over obstacle " ball was only shown in billiards game , an exceptional move he can also use in this pool game , but alas ! it was illegal

Love this old men
I am from Pakistan watching him play makes me excited as I am an average player but still learning from him how he control the cue ball
That counter-safe by Reyes is a thing of beauty, perfection, and wonder. One can watch it over and over, with great pleasure.

Ummm I’m pretty sure you don’t need the word Filipino in this sentence

Y'know, I never noticed before, but yeah, I've never seen Efren have the cue ball or any ball cleaned. I have seen him jump the cue ball . . twice!
Yeah! Never ever complained. Maybe he is a bit shy to ask the referee. What do you think?
@@TheMagicianEfrenReyes : I think he took it into his calculations! No problem!
Kali pertama lihat EFREN kalah,,,😢
Efren Reyes is a smart player
Love watching this humble man win. I’m in Texas
Efren at 60, imagine him in his prime karl would have spent his time in his seat for the whole match
YEs sir!
No problem still leading to the opponent, win or lose, but still fighting, that was a Filipino tradition with struggle in life.

In the 1960s the hardest game was called " straight pool" which didn't allow English to be used. Bank shot mastering was critical.
