- In a significant milestone Armenia has agreed to return several villages to Azerbaijan. This comes as both the countries move closer to a peace deal after fighting two wars since the Soviet Union's collapse. Azerbaijan hailed the return of 4 villages by Armenia as a “long-awaited historic event.” However, the handover on the ground will involved only “two and a half villages” as Azerbaijan already partly controls the settlements involved. The Armenian government said that the move will reduce risks related to border security.

Armenia has always avoided conflicts. Artsakh was Armenia for over 2000 years. Azerbaijan, a manufaced country in 1928, was granted the ownership of Artsakh and Nakhijevan by Soviet Russia, specifically by Stalin.
Azerbaijan has a big appetite when they call Armenia western Azerbaijan , thus, war is only being postponed.

Nagarano karabakh is officially a part of Azerbaijan recognized by Int'l community. But armenia occupied it and azeris took back the region within 5 years (2020-2024) except this 4 villages.U need to study more about geo-politics,history and geography

How's Russia "losing sway"? Both Armenia and Azerbaijan were incorporated in Soviet union, therefore both have lobby in Moscow, Russia favouring one over the other would mean "losing sway". Unlike the Usa with its Taiwan and China issue, and similar policies of creating tension through "divide and conquer" principle, Russia does not need war and tension in the region between Armenia and Azerbaijan, therefore it's better to solve the ethnic problem that was created during Soviet times now than having the issue going on indefinitely..

Armenia has nailed it's colours onto the tattered mast of the EU, so there is no surprise that Russia will not risk the lives of it's soldiers defending Armenian territory. They should learn to choose their friends more carefully.
Azerbaijan is the main agressor. Armenia should be on the highest alert.
What it will also do is solve the conflicts that made them both ineligible for joining NATO. That is why Russia really doesn't like this - and is why Russia fomented strife in this conflict in the first place, and wanted a protracted & stalled conflict (peace keeping my ass! - not that stupid).
If both Armenia and Azerbaijan join NATO, then Armenia will effectively be integrated into Greater Turkey. At least Greece and Cyprus still have wide maritime access to balance the Turkish Anatolian mainland.
