Six Flags call many coasters "Superman" but this is the most Superman looking coaster of them all 🔥🔥🔥🔥 what great looking s taller coaster with a ton of charisma . I can feel some of the laterals in this video. Love it
Exactly how ours was at Seaworld, wicked laterals on the last section, ZERO braking, and dual car so back seat was great. That 3 car model (not SDC I don't think) that you have shown on the channel is actually on my list though, with 3 cars surely the drops would be awesome.
@@CanobieCoaster I think so, but It's hard to remember. Since that was my first week riding any of these kind of coasters (and there were 5 of them), I didn't really know what to expect or what to look for.
Nice paint job and great placement for a classic. They do have a great set of classic rides and games. Every park doesn't NEED to be a themed park. Just lovingly cared for.
I thought it was by Pinfari. What does S.D.C.stand for? The only time I rode this model was the late 70's at Asbury Park and it was the best coster I rode to date, since I was still under 48 inches tall then. It was the #1 best coster I rode until I was tall enough to ride "Coaster" at Playland in Vancouver. I remember seeing this at the Seattle fair in 1981/1982 when we were in town for either Rogers and Hammerstein's "The King and I" or Puccini's "La Fanciulla del West." When I saw it then and there I thought to myself: 'I'ts like the one at Asbury Park!' My parents didn't care, so unfortunately I didn't ride it, and to this day I've never ridden any Galaxi coaster except I rode the only one I rode in Asbury Park New in Jersey in the late 70's. I've never forgotten it though! If you think you know which Galaxi coaster used to be at Asbury Park, and where it is now. please let me know. (I'm guessing it's the one in New England). Otherwise I'll just use this one for my "coasters I've ridden" playlist, unless you know which Galaxi coaster I most likely rode in the late 70s at Asbury Park. Also: I can't find the stats for the biggest two drops but I know the biggest drop is about 36'. I always thought the 2nd drop was bigger, and you've confirmed that. Thanks for posting!
@@CanobieCoaster I most likely rode it in 1977 at Asbury Park. I think the one I rode t's up North in the USA in an eastern state. What manufacturer do you think made that one?
One of those coasters I got to look at, but not ride. It sure didn't look so fresh when I visited in 2018/19 (can't remember year off top of my head). Had so much rain during that trip and this was one of thr casualties.
@@CanobieCoaster yeah, I found out. I was coming from the Greek Peak Mountain Coaster that morning. After the planned quick stop at Sylvan, I was headed to Great Escape and Huck Finn's Playland.
What do you think about: Galaxi at Sylvan Beach Amusement Park Whizzer at Six Flags Great America Tig'rr at Indiana Beach Wild Mouse at Lagoon Fly at Canada's Wonderland and a defunct coaster: Nightmare at Crack Axle Canyon at Great Escape
Birds on roller coasters are really getting annoying now, last weekend when I was at holiday world one of the owls that lives in that station pooped on the train causing the ride to go down for 10 minutes while they cleaned it up which in turn made me miss out on riding legend or voyage for last ride of the night
Lots of these things have cumbersome OTSRs that kill the ride experience. I rode Blue Diamond Streak before it was shipped to Florida, and it also had lapbars, so I can imagine how good this thing is based on those rides.
These rides typically have lapbars, the OTSRs are designed for the looping varients, however, for some odd reason, a few normal Zyklons have the looping cars.
Personally, the S.D.C. Galaxis are much more aesthetically pleasing than Pinfari's equivalent, especially the cars, which remind me of 60's sports cars.
I can't believe I'm seeing content from Sylvan Beach! I have family there and spent a lot of time of my childhood here. The last time I rode this (a long time ago), employees front loaded the lead car with me in the back. I almost landed in Maine from the airtime on the two drops. The lapbar barely comes down. Tons of fun. It runs very well considering it's age and that it's installed on the beach, winters can be brutal up there. It's got a charming amount of jank, not rough. Also, The Bomber (you can see it spinning in the distance 2:13 - 2:18) is a very rare ride that's been there for I think 40 years. I looked that model up years ago and I think only 3 in the US were listed and this installation wasn't on there. It makes the weirdest sound when operating because of the giant bike chain that makes it spin.
These rides are a lot better than they get credit for. I did the one at Charlotte Fair. Sadly I never got to do this one, this was my home park for a while but it was closed that entire time. Oof.
check out the video of the old Star Jet coaster on Casino Pier in NJ. The one that got washed into the ocean. From the top of the lift before the first drop Fun Town Pier is visible (RIP).
I live 15 minutes from here, thanks for highlighting such a small and underappreciated park.
You're welcome.
Crazy timing, I’ve been staying at this lake for the past two days and just learned about this park yesterday!
Nice!

It does have a Superman paint scheme.
4:40 I can’t agree more

Mouse Trap is shockingly good with the 3rd car.
Sadly when I went the trims were on for some reason and I crawled over the final section but I still at least got some good airtime in the first half
That's a bummer on the ending.
throwing shade at Rise of Skywalker? That was really funny and clever, and I agree!
I had to.
Nice to see you in my neck of the woods. It’s a shame there isn’t more offered around here though.
I agree.
The SDC at Joyland in Lubbock TX also uses 2-car trains. It was only over a month ago that I rode it, but I can't remember how the airtime was.
Did the finale brake hard?

Nice dig at Rise of Skywalker.
Thanks!
The finale is strong with this one, right Disney?
Yes
Dude, The Rise of Skywalker shade was expertly done, I had to rewind to confirm what I heard, nice work!
Thanks!

This park feels frozen in time.
Looks neat. Looks like fun.
It is.

Pinfari and SDC were two different manufacturers that made similar rides like this.

That happened at Belantis last year, except that park kept running the ride with guests getting pooped on.
@@CanobieCoaster that’s certainly an interesting approach lol, I don’t think what holiday world did was bad but it was just unfortunate for me
That’s bad I thankfully never had those issues at parks not even the May Fly’s at Cedar Point

not like theres much competition
