@UnlimitedIvory this is a very bad comparison, for a number of reasons, but I recently came to a new conclusion recently, and it’s that they represent polar opposites. Goku is a being who is meant to be weak. His entire story is one where from his birth, he was below everyone else on his planet, and his entire story is one of overcoming his own weakness. Superman is a being with unlimited strength, and nowhere to throw it. Every day he has to hold back or everyone could die. He’s the ultimate power fantasy because he was created to be an unstoppable force, one that always beats the odds, a simple solution to overwhelming problems. In short, they’re the opposites in terms of their grander story.

@Angel Crow Look, I’m the definition of a Thanos fanboy, I love it, BUT if I didn’t we it Superman can’t beat him at all I’d be capping. Thanos pulls off a win 6/10 imo, and with prep 9/10
@Angel CrowYes, and he let gamora kill him because he allowed it, again (lol), when odin was about to destroy him, when galactus was about to destroy him, and when god doom killed him because he was arrogant. All right, let's go over it. Strength: Superman. He has better strength feats, like breaking time, space, reality, and dimensions. Thanos is incredibly strong, easily past Thor, but he doesn't have enough feats to contend with Supes. Speed: Superman. Oh, Thanos could deck him for sure, I mean, he beat Surfer to half death and Surfer is insanely fast. Thanos is consistency MFTL+ reaction speed wise. But Superman does have faster travel speed. Thanos' best travel speed feat would be... hm, I guess flying through a planet with Thane? Cool, but not enough. Durability: Both. I mean, it takes multiversal beings to wear them both down, as universal beings aren't enough. Thanos tanked attacks that killed thor and hulk, tanked attacks from galactus and odin (multiversal), and superman took a punch from the planet with no problem, to planets colliding, and the source destroying, which should be multiversal destruction. I would say they tie there. Versatility: Thanos, but only because the way Superman uses his powers is like he's holding back, Thanos isn't. But if Superman went all on, he has kryptonian soul absorption, telekinesis, and he can BFR thanos to the sun (and thanos has survived in a sun with no problems, so that wouldn't kill him anyway). Thanos does have force fields and his cosmic blasts to keep up. Hax: Thanos. Mind control. It's like superman writers forgot torquasm vo lol, that makes him immune to it but whatever. Poison ivy gets him. Thanos can. Also matter manipulation, but I know that wouldn't work, Supes resisted that before. Thanos also has magic.. but he's only used it to curse deadpool. IDK what else he can do with it. Superman could absorb whatever magic thanos gives him though, as he's done it before. Intellect: ...Depends... potential wise, superman, feat wise, thanos. Superman could easily be lex luthor/batman smart, i mean, he is a genius, but most writers keep him like a normal dude, while thanos is almost always smart. So yeah, with prep he'll win and even without it he can win. Eh, I'd say Superman is more powerful but Thanos has more hax, versatility, and genius to easily keep up and beat him. It would be a good fight though. But... when superman sun dips... Thanos is beaten for sure. Either that, or close to it. Yeah, I would say he can survive a sun dipped punch but he should be beaten after that.
This is what they mean when they say Superman is infinite potential, the guy was nearly powerless and depressed 1 second and the next he was strong enough and filled with the will to knockout a multiversal being and destroy his multiverse. "Superman is as strong as he needs to be"- why do people still doubt this
Most of the time it's people with anime profile pictures who think the punch was only ConTineNtAl or some sort of lowball. MCU fanbois do it too, but some of the actual Marvel fans at least won't lowball it that bad. They know comic characters tend to be on a completely different level than their movie conterparts.
@@Redoren966 It's not the first time Superman has aimed his hits moving at super speed and won't be the last. When his fist collides with Forger's eye, the shockwave moves out away from earth. (first panel of the shockwave). In the next panels we see the shockwave spread more. In the (3rd panel?) of the shockwave when Forger is lying on the ground blaming Superman, the shockwave has taken up most of the background above earth. Forger says something like "my masterpiece, you destroyed" in that panel. They keep the conversation brief (the interruptions of Forger's questions and statements). Then Forger takes them back to Earth Prime. Then he says "you believed the League enough to survive the REST of my multiverse collapsing" So the punch was aimed and did not instanlty destroy the future multiverse (obviously) but instead causes it collapse over time. It's sort of similar to ki control from dbz/dbs. Despite base form Freiza already being planetary the main stronger characters can use ki control to fight each other without blowing up the planet. Except in Superman's case he's aiming the punch so that most of the energy from the collision releases in a particular direction rather than right at future Earth itself.

So many heroes I love in the comics, Batman, Hulk, Cap, Thor and countless others I love. But Supes inspires the good in me, the righteous! Still, truth and justice, the American way!

Superman must have still been holding back, otherwise a punch of that power knocked out a multiversal being, probably shatter the planet to atoms.
He was holding back because he didn't try to kill the Forger
Plus Clark wasn't even exhausted from delivering that punch.
Maybe most of the punch's force went into Forger?
Force of the punch was directly went to forger
True
Even when times seem dark or hopeless, there will always be Hope, it will shine the path forward, Superman is the embodiment of Hope, but he inspires us, he inspires us to never forget Hope, he inspires us to conquer whatever blocks our path forward.
So does Goku.
@@sonicsucks20Not in super he doesn't but in Z yeah. BUT Superman is just built different he litterly is the hero of hope the pinor. why do you think some people call Goku a copy of Clark?

Supes Defeats All!!!
Not all most.
@Angel Crow superman would blitz Thanos
@Angel Crow yep. But technically he can pull out a win.
@Angel Crow
Look, I’m the definition of a Thanos fanboy, I love it, BUT if I didn’t we it Superman can’t beat him at all I’d be capping.
@@ok-jq1jh he needs the sun. take away the sun he's dead. Chaos king rapes superman
@@ok-jq1jh It's because it is how does a multiversal punch not even destroy the planet they are on
@@Redoren966
It's not the first time Superman has aimed his hits moving at super speed and won't be the last.
Then he says "you believed the League enough to survive the REST of my multiverse collapsing"
So the punch was aimed and did not instanlty destroy the future multiverse (obviously) but instead causes it collapse over time.
@@ok-jq1jh That still makes no sense because a punch that would be multiversal shouldn't take a little chunk of the earth but the whole planet
