I can totally relate to this young woman. My first husband was verbally abusive to me all throughout my pregnancy. When our son was born prematurely and only lived for 2 days. Once you cheat on someone or hit them.. honestly if you stay with them it starts a trauma bond. That bond then creates an endless cycle of the same behavior that caused it in the first place. A sense of comfort because the pain that comes from the recovery is more intimidating and lonely.

I had that same rule but when it came time to leave once he cheated I got beat he forced me to stay for days on end until I agreed to stay and even when I went back home and tried to break it off then he broken in, dragged me out and did the same thing over and over again until again I agreed to stay. I can’t speak on this couple but I will say first hand some people stay because they’re scared/ there’s no way out. Now my ex is in jail and I have a ppo on him and he still calls despite of the ppo and on top of everything hes been telling everyone when he gets out we’re getting back together/ we will be together. Now here I am scared if I don’t give him what he wants I will one day end up dead. Now I will say every time he got physical was only when I tried to leave. Never has he called me out of my name or bring me down verbally and never has he hit me whenever hes mad it’s literally only when I try to leave and personally I don’t know what to do… I’m only 18..
