PAScribe Daily Practice - Copperplate Script - Where is the Nib
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 лют 2023
- As I was setting up for my Daily Practice session today, 21-02-2023, I realised how important this could be and decided to make a Zoom recording of it.
You will see me looking off to the side - this is explained in the video. The quality is ok, but it was also recorded on my computer and the class made of it is of a much higher quality.
I have been working my way through the Copperplate Script Majuscules and am currently at BRP. I ran into an issue with nib position and aspect and wanted to explore it using the PAScribe Tool Co-ordinate System, this lives in the PAScribe Scriptorium, see link below.
I also wanted to look at how other nibs would react to the investigation I was planning.
This is my ongoing practice.

Merci pour cette vidéo et j'apprécie énormément comment vous montrer votre pratique. Je vais continuer à vous regarder.
Thank you so much I am so greatful for everything you have shared with us over the years. You have made huge impacts on so many of us both artistically and as human beings.
I am touched to hear this. I post to help others grow so knowing I am making a difference is helpful.
I am in love with you and i don't wish you to take that personally, exactly. It is the work. The rhapsody. I am grateful to have found your practice. Thank you.
Glad the work brings you such joy.
I quite enjoyed watching you reflect and troubleshoot your work using your systems and methods. It really helped me to understand some of the nuance that has gone into your Antonian Copperplate and I now have even more respect for the granularity of your practice. Bravo, Paul!
Awwww David. It is so wonderful to hear from you. Hearing this from you is a gift as I know the depth of detail you pour into your own teaching. ‘Antonia Copperplate’ I love it.
as a hand engraver, I can appreciate your videos
Thank you so much.
This may be a dumb question but I was wondering what is your nib holders etc in? Are they random jars/glass ware? I learn a lot from videos. I’m a beginner and am really loving calligraphy. Thank you.
They are large jam jars and water glasses.
That's a lot of pens...lol
A question. What do you think, the angle of 55 degrees can be obtained with the ruler and the compass ?
In my manual there is a guide to how I constructed it with rulers only.
