    I have found that polishing new nibs with a tiny dab of tooth paste removes the factory coating and leaves the nib able to hold ink very well.

      You will not remember everything all at once. The think about being this technical is leaving nothing to chance. Make notes, stop, rewind, re listen and try to implement it. This really helps in the approach so that you are not causing injury to the body.

    Paul, i have been eyeing the new Japanese nib concept in that it is an expensive Tubular format but holds a huge amount of ink. There are various versions stainless steel, brass and glass. I would love to see you review this Kakimori. It comes at around $80 canadian so not a cheap purchase but what i want to know in your opinion is it worth it and what can it do in terms of hands…Maybe you have one already.

    Hello, I'm new to calligraphy and I'm not a native english speaker. I bought a Brause nib whose reservoir must be filled with a brush. The problem is, at the end (when I finished my paper), there is too much ink on the brush but not enough to fill the reservoir. So when I clean the material, some ink is wasted by the brush. Is it inevitable or am I doing it wrong ? I hope my question is understandable and thank you in advance for the answers.

    Hi Paul! Could I please ask you when getting a scratchy nib (Hunt 22) from the production, how do you solve this problem?

    • @PAScribe
      @PAScribe 2 роки тому +1

      Planishing the nib with a crocus cloth and and Arkansas Stone helps to get rid of any burs which might be left on the nib. Scratchiness my be an issue of the times not being aligned so look at it under a magnifying glass so you really know what is going on and not guessing.

    I always put nibs in my mouth, the solution to not swallowing them is to put them in the holder first 😉 - I guess then you have to be careful not to poke your eyes with it (I wear glasses so it’s not an issue 🤓) could you pass my tip on to Paul?

    When I found Paul in my early days of Calligraphy, I literally watched every single video on his channel. And I'm very happy that because of this video or a similar video Paul made, I have a good sitting posture and understanding of the tools. And can't wait to convey this knowledge to my classes (by of-course referencing and crediting Paul's work and videos) at this stage, I just wash the nibs with a bit of warm water and massage them with a little bit of toothpaste. But yeah, saliva comes really handy when either you're out or you're in your comfortable posture and Don't wanna get up 😂
