It's October 2022 and with the current energy crisis in Europe a lot of people are looking for ways to save money on their energy bills.
Here are some of the benefits of buying a dehumidifier.
A dehumidifier will help reduce the humidity in the home.
Dryer air uses less energy to heat up then moist air as such it should help reduce your heating bill.
You can use it to dry your laundry too and it is cheaper to run then a tumble dryer about 1/3 the cost per hour.
It can also warm your home as it produces heat while running.
By removing the excess moisture in the air it will reduce condensation on your walls preventing your paintwork from bubbling, wooden window frames from rotting and wooden floors from buckling.
It will also keep you healthier as it will prevent mold from growing on your walls and also get rid of silverfish insects as they prefer high humidity environments.

Thanks for the video.
I just bought the TTK 66 E and had no idea on how to making it function.
Clear explanation.
Hi the manual can be downloaded from the Trotec website.
Cheers for that, helped me a lot with that Trotec. Where I live, that exact one has been rebranded as Gorenje (albeit 20 litre) but otherwise identical machine and I struggled to find a review in English so this helped a lot in terms of functionality and noise volume.
Thx for the measurements and comparison.
Edit: ordered two of the Pro Breeze 12liter models. After plenty reading and comparing they seem to be the best choice for me noise-wise and efficiency-wise. In general the smaller units (meaning 12liter instead of 20, 30 or 50 liter) are more quiet because they displace less air, as apparently the fanblades and the air rushing over the grills is a main source of noise. On paper they perform better then the larger models, when you calculate the Watts per liter needed to extract the liters capacity at 30C and 80%RV. Two small units are more quiet then one larger unit.
Good review, I've just bought the pro breeze model. it seems ok. Only use it to dry clothes, so fingers crossed will be good. One problem we've found with compressor dehumidifiers is longevity. Our ecoair mini dessicant, has outlasted a delonghi, a meaco (that was £250 plus😢) and an ecoair compressor dehumidifier over a decade old!
Thank you! 👍🏽
Great vid! Just an FYI, the ProBreeze PB-18 does have a removable filter. In the UK ones at least. The manual states:
• To remove the air filter, first remove the water tank from the body of the unit so you can reach the filter. Pull out the filter from the bottom rear of the unit.
oh wow! thanks for that. I must have missed it in the manual.
@@coolproductsreviews3220 No probs! :)
Can you buy more filters or do you just need to clean the one in there? Thank you
@@c.k.1958 It's a plastic mesh filter that you just clean and reuse. No replacement is necessary! I just remove it and vacuum it weekly :)
@@MenaceMartin thank you! 👍🏽
Compressors are better for warmer spaces and will not work in cold places whereas the desiccant type is made for cold rooms likes garages, conservatories and cellars in winter. Both are good for the purpose they are made for.
yes absolutely correct.
Great review.. does they produce a lot of heat..like can i use them in a closed room in summer?
Thanks for the review! Regarding the noise of the Pro Breeze, I read in some reviews in Amazon that despite having a lower noise it has a very annoying high pitch noise (similar to a continuous cricket). I think I could hear it at the end of the high mode test in your video, but I wanted to ask you if you could confirm that, and if the Trotec has this sound as well.
If you are the type that need absolute silence to sleep neither of these will be suitable.
The trotec is significantly louder under all modes.
The probreeze is very quiet on the sleep setting and if it is in the far corner of your room even quieter.
Can you help with the automatic mode is it goid to use what is it best used for?
I have the right 👉 machine
,Very good machine
Thanks my mode button doesn't give any options only auto so mow I know it's faulty. Pro breeze have been horrendous no contact didn't offer to replace I've been contacting them for 2 days. They have not offered to pick it up. 😢 anyone know if the mode button can be fixed ?
Is it essential to have the airfilter? Mine came without one (the Trotec equivalent). Wire mesh in the flap but no filter behind it.
the filter isn't essential to function but over years dirt and dust will accumulates on the cooling fins and it will reduces the efficiency. You may require you to take the cover off to vacuum and clean it if this happens.
Thank you very much for your quick reply. I have since realised that the plastic flap and the mesh fixed to it may just be the filter they refer to in the manual. I think I expected an actual filter between the flap/mesh and the fins. Thanks for your reassuring reply!@@coolproductsreviews3220
I have the probreeze model. I noticed the unit shakes or vibrates when turning on and off. I dunno if its normal but I didn't notice on the video. Is anyone experiencing same?
hi yes this is probably due to the motor starting up and shutting down. It should be normal unless it is excessive.
What about energy costs ? I’ve just brought a pro breeze 20 l and it says it uses 440 w :o
Hi if you look at the probreeze and trotec websites for their basic 20L dehumidifiers they are both rated at 44 and 45 kw/h. I have a feeling that most dehumidifier of the compressor type will have similar energy consumptions. Dessicant types usually use more engergy.
The MeacoDry Arete One 20L currently seems to have one of the best energy ratings.
0.2 kW/h@@coolproductsreviews3220
Nice review!
[You have some very annoying clicking sound, idk what causes it]
Thanks for letting me know. I think it might be my microphone position or sensitivity i will try to change it for my future videos.
Do you have a hissing or whistling noise coming from the trotec once the compressor kicks in?
@@moEEYaYoo no hissing or whistling but there is a very obvious sound of the motor running in the cooling unit and teh sound of the air coming out of the vent.
merhaba elimde ttk e 69 var puroblen L1
In sleep mode with the compressor on it is much noisier
yes i don't think you be able to find a completely silent dehumidifier. Peltier types are almost silent but very low efficiency
That slurp when ending sentences, tzmak...is so annoying to hear.
You should try to avoid it, its terrible to hear every few seconds.
