Just pay core staff more! Also let the core staff schedule themselves and pick their schedules then let travelers and per diem fill in. I honestly wonder why people do core staff anymore with how most hospitals treat them

I graduated from a BSN program in 1978.It was common for me to work 16 hour shifts Alone!! Yes ,alone...not even another person to answer the phone.And this was on a pediatric unit.I still have nightmares.

The crazy thing is that when my old unit had a huge turnover following a peak covid surge, they gave us a pizza party, from the cafeteria downstairs 😕😂

Spot On! I was almost off pizza entirely after too many marginal pizza [Dominos, Little Caesars, etc.] "parties" as iff all staff can take a break together .... more realistically, cold pizza by oneself with perhaps some warm flat soda from a 2L bottle sitting on the table for hours. But hey, berries are healthy and that sad tub probably warrants 2-3 berries/per staff member. Enjoy!
