I also own this tent and totally agree with your excellent review!

Thats awesome! What's your favorite thing about the tent?
Originally it was the price, I got 20% off at REI. But now I love having two vestibules for storage and flow through ventilation.

Wonderful, informative video Gabbi! When I was backpacking 40 years ago I carried a Eureka Timberline which was six pounds and was considered a lightweight tent at the time😆
Wow Frank! That sounds awful LOL
Great, honest review! I'm always on the hunt for the perfect tent. I'm currently using the Xmid 1P. The pitch is pretty simple and I'm typically satisfied with a less than perfect outcome. I do find it a little cramped so I may get the ground sheet for it and forgo the inner and see what kind of creepy crawlies scurry over me during the night. The 2P has a much too large footprint, IMO. I'm intrigued by the Duplex Lite but not intrigued enough to drop almost $700. LOL. Keep up the excellent content and hope you're having a fantastic summer so far!
The duplex is so pricey! So is the xmid pro. But I’m looking to try one of the two for next year. Have a great summer!
Thanks Gabi I appreciated the review even though I did go with the Duplex, mainly because of exactly what you said. The material was a big one for me. I don’t get the nylon just like I don’t get it for the Mariposa. You know that’s my pet peeve about that pack, even though I love it 🥰. The 2 is a very similar setup as the Duplex and footprint as well. Can be tough if space is limited and/or setting up on a platform but I haven’t had to do that yet. Keep the reviews coming as very helpful and interesting. Hope to run into you in Vermont. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
I agree about the fabric! I do like that nylon is more packable and I can stuff it away, but soaking up water is a definite con. For the mariposa, I love the pack and don't feel like trying to find another comfortable one right now so I suck up the fabric, but I really wish they would switch. Next tent I'm looking at is the Durston XMid Pro 2. Hope to see you in Vermont, thanks for watching!
Great review Gabi, just wondering if the seams are taped from the factory. Looking forward to your upcoming adventure.
Great point that I should've mentioned! They are factory taped.
Hey Gabi, thanks for the great review, very informative! It looks like very nice tent and the setup is much easier than I was expecting. I really need an upgrade from my old 6+ pound tent that's so heavy even my motorcycle complains. What I'm curious about is how are these trekking pole tents in rocky areas where it might be difficult to properly stake them down? I also wonder how this tent compares to the X-Mid 2 at a similar price point, not the Pro, that's way out of my budget, lol.
In rocky areas you may have to try different spots until you get an okay one, find a good rock, and maybe stake them in at a dramatic angle. New England can be pretty rocky and I haven't had too many issues, but sometimes its annoying. A freestanding tent may be better for you. Still some light 3-4lb ones. This tent is 8 ounces lighter than the X Mid 2, though it is single wall (X mid is double wall) so you'll encounter condensation more. I do think it's just as spacious
@@gabicerrahikes Thanks, great info! It looks like Durston has a new freestanding tent coming out later this summer the X-Dome, might be interesting. I like how your tent has screen doors so you can see out. My current one is solid so no view, and when was camping in Arizona the other week, I kept them zipped shut because I didn’t want any scorpions making their way in 😂

Nice review! I think this is the one I wNt. Cost is the main reason.
That was my deciding factor. It's just sooo light for the cost. This tent has served me well
💕
Good video. Do you have a footprint for it? If not, have Hunter scrounge up some Tyvek from a jobsite and make a footprint and a tarp/cover for the tent. Tyvek is much stronger than the polycro that has become popular. Have fun. Good Luck, Rick
I was using polycro, but as you said its not durable. Now I have tyvek that LHG gave me!
If you treat the outside with silicone waterseal
Will prevent water absorption.
Great tip!
Your hair and voice make me watch but love hiking videos!
I appreciate that! Lol can’t say I’ve heard that one before
