Many Thanks Sam - VERY informative with your techniques + tricks..which only come with your EXPERIENCE!!! and which will save a lot of time and mishaps!!! 🇬🇧
I just found your videos, I love your accent and voice, it's so soothing. This helped out a lot esp the static pillow! I didn't know that at all. Thank you!
This just popped up. Such a useful video. I have not tried any techniques and usually only emboss sentiments. Will definitely try some of these. Thanks Sam
OMG!! I never thought about people making videos and how they don't go over specifically how to use the products properly due to limited time. What you said makes perfect sense! Especially making sure to really rub in your anti static powder on your paper, then testing it, and making sure your heating tool is very hot. I was copying everything I saw in the videos and my embossing always had stray embossing powder. Now I know why!! Thank you so much!!! Kathy
You are so right about the different heating tools. Some of them get so hot that it was difficult for me to emboss on anything but heavy cardstock. I finally got one from Stampin Up after watching so many videos with people using it with success. When my paper did warp, I would lightly mist the back and put it through my Big Shot. It worked most of the time.
Thank you Sam for a fantastic video. I have watched many different people demonstrate how to heat emboss, but sadly still don’t seem to be able to get it right. I feel I will now succeed. 😊 it was wonderful to see all the different backgrounds that one can use. I will be heat embossing lots now.
I am one of these people who never been really good with embossing. I might emboss a strip with a sentiment but thats about all I manage. Somehow it always ends up messy and I get frustrated. Thank you Sam for the tips and showing us a detail tutorial. I shall give embossing another try.
You did a wonderful job of explaining how to emboss on all these different surfaces. I've been hesitant to emboss on vellum and my heat resistant acetate before now. I never would have thought to emboss on glitter paper. Thank you so much for your thorough instructions. You've inspired me to give these techniques a try.
Sam, Loved this tutorial. You explained everything very clearly and showed some beautiful examples. You also showed me how very little I had known about embossing and am now ready to give embossing another go. Thank you so much.
Thank you só much for this video! I am a totally newbee and got the materials yesterday. Your explanations about what the powder is, how to use the heattool and why a static pad exist are so needed for me. Love also to see how you do it step by step. Now I can go and start playing. Thanks! Greetings out of the Netherlands, Marjan. 🌷
Hi Sam yes am one of the people out there who has lovely powders but have not used them your tutorial has given me personally the get stuck in girl factor thanks for this great series and taking all the time to show tips and tricks kind regards Janine
Thank you Sam for such an educational video. I watched your video about an hour ago and learnt so much and decided to stop and start your video and do what you are teaching me, step by step, with you beside me (well in front of me on the computer). I can not believe how much better my embossing is. Firstly, using the powder buddy freely; secondly heating the tool (I cant afford the SU one but I have a cheaper version but it works well now that I know how to use it properly - no second heating option tho). I feel so much more confident. THANK YOU. I so appreciate your training and more importantly that you give it so freely. Warm Wishes: Mal, Melbourne, Australia
Thanks Sam for another insightful and inspiring tutorial. I absolutely love embossing but had sort of forgotten about it. I am now encouraged to get my supplies out again, now that I can use them to best effect, ha,ha.
This is an awesome tutorial! Your voice is clear and words concise and descriptive without wasting time with non essential stuff. I’m sounding stiff here as I do enjoy all kinds of tutorials but with needed detailed instructions in this case yours is perfect. Like you the main attraction to this craft was rubber stamping; My first love of all the papercrafting elements. I’ve been making cards for over 40 years long before there was anything developed from Tim holtz or tonic studios! I say this because it is always good to get a refresher course for sometimes we do a step or process by rote that could be improved upon. Lol. For instance you used versamark on foil or acetate paper whereas I used stazon. I’m delighted to see the watermark ink work just as well. You mentioned using stazon on your layered metal looking “hello” die. It would be a slick surface but so is acetate. Would love to see a bit more on why and when to use Stazon. Delightful tutorial. Thank you very much for the time you put into making it.
Thank you for that wonderful tutorial Sam. I have all the embossing equipment but don’t use them very much. I will have a try now that I’ve watched you . Cheers.
Awesome tutorial. Learnt a lot. I always seem to drop the paper, because it gets too hot, and then the image gets spoiled. Thanks for showing the technique.
Try putting the paper on a strip of painter's tape and using tweezers to hold the tape. The tape and tweezer combo will act as a handle and keep your hands away from the heat.
Absolutely beautiful. I’ve been stamping ever since I started crafting a few years ago and watched many videos , but this was very good as you showed all the little tips to help me get them perfect without any mistakes thankyou
Hi Sam, I watched your tutorial 2 days ago and it inspired me to attempt it for the first time. I tried 8 times on scrap card before doing the actual card. I'm going to try and share it on mixed up crafters x
Thank you, Sam! I had heard some of the tips and tricks, but not all and loving the metal look embossing! Can't wait for the second video! Now to find some heat resistance acetate in Australia!!!
Thank you soooo much Sam I’ve just tried heat embossing and tried the test method you said. My heat embossing has improved greatly after a couple of minutes. Once again thank you I now can heat emboss my wedding invitations x
Hi Sam thank you for this great update. I've not long got into crafting and embossing is a technique I would love to master so I'm loving this video and look forward to your futuree updates. You explain everything so well and I've learnt so much. I'm heading off to my craft room cheers Jan ☺️
Absolutely fab tutorial, thank you so much. I didn’t realise the powder bag was so important until you explained and I just used to swish it over in a haphazard way 😱 🥰 Love love love x
I have watched this tutorial 5 times and decided to give it a go although I've had the stuff for weeks hadn't been brave enough to try .... Yay! it turned out brilliant. Thank you for another informative tutorial Sam xx
WOWEE! What an EXCELLENT video!! I learned so much with you today! :-)))) I truly enjoy using a variety of materials to emboss on and you covered them in such fine detail and explanation! I appreciate the little tips throughout the video as well, especially rubbing your fingers w/the embossing “buddy” n’ heating from the top vs. bottom!! Having a REALLY HOT GUN is KEY, too, along with checking your paper before you begin! SO SMART to get incredible results no matter the medium!! YAY!! Can’t wait to delve into MORE EMBOSSING projects myself after viewing this tutorial! :-)). Thank you for sharing your expertise with embossing so that we, too, can get lovely results more confidently! LOVE the finished card designs you shared with us, too! Thank you Sam, my daughter bought me all the embossing materials for Christmas 2020 and I was so excited to have a go, but came away very disappointed, it didn’t look how I had seen other people’s, but watching this I can see exactly what I was doing wrong and that was not really applying my little anti static pad enough I just dropped it in the middle lol So tomorrow I will try again ty x
The tips are invaluable, especially for new crafters such as myself. Thanks!!!
This is one of the best tutorials I’ve seen. Thank you!!!

Practice is the main key to learning any new skill or craft. Have fun and enjoy to your hearts content!
What do you clean your stamps with to get the glue off from the embossing ink.
