Great review Barbatos! I have the cheaper waterfall spray booth in the video. To answer Barbatos’ questions. The fans suck the air out through the blue filter like the other foldable spray booths on the market. When I am airbrushing, I see the heavy white paint particulates fall down the waterfall and it builds up along the black filters at the bottom of the waterfall (I see white paint buildup). For the lighter paint particulates, they get sucked into the blue filter by floating past the waterfall where there is the opening along the sides (I see white paint buildup on the blue filter). The water hose in between the clear plastic wall and the filter is pretty long. When I pull the clear wall out and downward (like a drawbridge going down), I can pull that water hose out a little more. The hose is long enough to let you pull the clear wall down and have it lay flat on the table. This allows you to freely take out the blue filter to clean or replace. You can put the clear wall back up straight and into position and the hose will just be curved and taking up a little more space behind the waterfall. One last thing, if the water doesn’t fall perfectly down the plastic wall, you can use you finger to lead the water straight down the side of the wall. You do that to both sides and the water will fall down the entire clear wall for full coverage.
THANK You..... 'Barbatos Rex' for showing that Carbon filtration system......looks Easy enough for " Us " to build for those who don't have a window to vacate vapors.....or Wives that Won't want us to cut "their" screens on the windows!!👍👍👍
This system won't really allow you to spray inside safely, as it isn't a big enough filter to remove VOCs. I have this same setup and I might make a video to show VOC readings to demonstrate how much, if any, it helps. Problem is good VOC meters are difficult to find
@@HobbyBench Hey, 'AA III', just saw this comment, looked ya up and WOW, you already have one on your channel. Just 'Sub' your channel because You now are going the extra mile in investigating how VOCs are removed. Thanks for the comment and reply.
@Hey_MMoe M thank you, I'm new to UA-cam and my channel has a long way to go but I appreciate the support! Safety is the most important thing so once I get a VOC scanner I'll do a full rundown on the different types of booth setups. Fume smell and vocs are very different and I think that gets lost in a lot of channels, I got eosilphic pneumonia when I was younger and it almost killed me from a chemical exposure, so it's critical to take this stuff seriously as rare weird stuff like that does happen. Luckily I got better after about 2 years
@Hey_MMoe M I just purchased a $400 NIST calibrated VOC detector, it's not a commercial unit but it will work well enough for testing various methods of booth exhaust. I'll be testing a standard master booth (newer version with updated fans) and the kaizo/ophir mobile fort water curtain spray booth in the following configurations - exhaust to outside under garage door - exhaust to 5gal bucket stock - exhaust to 5gal bucket with carbon filter - exhaust into working space (maybe, I don't see a huge point to this other then setting a baseline) Will take me a week or two to post this with my newborn taking up a lot of my time. If it's popular I'll buy a pace unit (with upgraded fan) and the kaizo innovation x shown in this video for testing.

So hearing the name Pace hit me with a feeling of a memory. Turns out that’s the paint booth I have! The older 24 mini. I met the guy who made them at Wondercon in Louisville KY some time ago and thought to myself to upgrade my janky spray booth. It’s nice to see his company is going strong, he was really proud of them and mine is still kicking all these years later. Been out of the hobby for a long time but it’s nice to see Pace doing well.
Discovered your channel a few days ago and i can't thank you enough for all the info. Decided to get back into modeling and your channel has helped answer so many questions from airbrushes, compressors, paint booths etc. You have made my journey much easier and for that I thank you. Happy subscriber.
Once these waterfall booths go down a little bit in price I'll jump on it. Reason being I've only had my current for under a year. But the fumes from my lacquer paints aren't dissipating as much as I'd like and leave lots of dust everywhere including on the pieces on deck for painting. Thanks for these videos!
You can remove the fan itself to show the inside (just lift the fan / white part up and it just sits on the seal) when you wanted to remove the metal to show the waterfall, it'll just be from the other side 😅 Also the black sponge thing in the water is to filter the paint from the pump / reservoir, paint gets stuck and tacky looking on it instead of going through the tubes and clogging it thankfully (seen some that didn't and yikes). Great video as always :)!
What kind of fans do these booths have (or any of the consumer booths)? Are they inline fans where the motor is in the airflow, or are they birdcage style fans where the motor is separate?
It looks nice, but how much will it cost in the long term? Will replacement parts be cheaper or last much longer than a conventional spray booth? The price is already pretty high, and these types of booths haven't been on the market long enough for me to see the reliability.
I bought the one on the right, and am VERY pleased, but I will add that the plastic that the water cascades over is NOT resilient to laq thinner, or other harsh chemicals, it will frost, so I do use a non-silicone polish like you do to ease clean-up, and use alcohol or acrylic thinner to clean the panel. The other panels are fine with thinners. The pull and venting is excellent, and overall maintenance is really not bad at all. Also, if you are using Rain-x or other silicone containing products in the model/paint area, how are you avoiding fish eyes? I try to avoid most all silicone products, including polishes, in the model room.
You got a dehydrate machine! Last week when I was spraying a big spill came out, at that time I know hmmm because of high humid. Thanks goodness big spill was on zaku sole, I'm not a perfectionist so let it be.

Wouldn’t humidity from the waterfall affect the paint? I’d definitely be mindful of water splash hitting the model that close even with the fan suction. It’s like those produce misters at the supermarket. I really don’t see the point of using the waterfall if the fan is that powerful it seems redundant and unecessary.
Hey barbatoes rex, I am thinking of buying either this kaizo spray booth or the pace spray booth. Which one is better in your opinion? Which one eliminates smell better and which one is deeper (size). Thanks!
I would personally recommend a Pace. I like the smaller ones they make. And you can request a more powerful exhaust fan which helps out big time removing the smell. Be sure to ask Mr Pace to install the more powerful fan. It'll cost more but worth it
Really like these videos. Are mold and humidity increase a problem? A mask can help with overspray in your lungs but once you take it off and get the solvent vapors/smell, it only does so much. I have been exposed to so many solvents/epoxies over the years well before regulation and safety made it too expensive to do in house. It is a wonder I do not have any ill effects yet and still have a very sensitive sniffer. A paint booth/room is supposed to isolate you from the vapors with PPE, you can't really do that in your basement with these unless you have a room exhaust for lacquers/solvents, etc, also. It permeates the entire house especially if your HVAC is in the basement you are using as your paint room. I have been searching and asking for any water based low VOC paints that are durable, but I guess people would be making videos for them if there were any. That is what I would like to find. These paints are amazing looking, but in the winter, I have nowhere to use them.
Does the new model come with dual voltage motor? I see in the old unit that is available you have to choose 110v or 220v I currently live in the US but may move back to South Korea in the next couple years. So if the new unit isn't switchable I'll probably opt for the first generation unit use it for now and then upgrade to the newer model in 220 when hopefully availability isn't so much of an issue.
Hello there, I really enjoyed your videos and, I’d just started following you. Happy to announce I’d preordered the WaterFall booth and I’m extremely excited for it. I would like to know if you have anything recommendation with first time purchasing of a airbrush and compressor.
Barbatos, any updates on how this system is going since your initial review? As for paint fumes, has this spray booth continuously removed the fumes when using your airbrush? Please advise if you can?
I don't know a whole lot about paints - can you tell me more about your comment regarding the acrylics? Are you saying that there are minimal fumes and all the paint goes into the waterfall?
seems like they don't sell this anymore, i can't find it on their website. they sell something similar and call it the "mobile fort version", which looks like the same spraybooth that you bought from another company from amazon and reviewed in a past video. do you have a direct link to where you bought this, or is it just gone for good?
I purchased one a while back when you first released the video. They got back in touch with me explaining that they couldn't ship and refunded me the money. Apparently, there was some issue with UL Labs not certifying the booth. @@barbatosrex9473
Great video! Basically, if you like the aesthetics and fumes are big concern spend the extra money. Otherwise go with the cheaper model since they both work great. Kind of wish they would have made the more expensive model cheaper and not included all the tacky side add-ons.
A real test for any of these booths is 2K primer. It creates more dust than other paints and then how often is it required to change the water? I have read this needs to be done after every session unless you want water everywhere.
I like that the older/cheaper one has a variable fan. At first the new one looked a lot smaller, but then seeing them side by side I guess not so much. But the older design feels a lot less cramped in the design so it just looks bugger I guess.
@@barbatosrex9473I appreciate the reply. 👍🏻 A lot of times youtubers will post a video and never mention the product again leaving us wondering if the pricey product is actually worth it.
HI. So between the two do you recommend the more expensive for the suction system? But the internal dimensions seem larger in the one with the blue filter or am I wrong? Unfortunately the Italian subtitles are not accurate and I lose some things. It is also true that in Europe only the cheapest one is on sale. At least for now.
I got a question for you or someone. I was looking at my Mr.Cement brush inside and thought they must sell those little brushes somewhere right? If they can be bought in bulk I could make any color panel lining and use those brushes to gather the paint and be able to put it on the model piece.
had one more question. Why did you use a 6" to 4" inch adapter? Wouldn't you want to stick with the 6" for more airflow? or did it come with a 4" hose? I'm confused about the hose.
I believe the 4" hose is the standard one that most spray booths use. By using an adaptor he can just swap out booths as needed and use the same hose and bucket for any of them
Question about the 3-filter water booth - does the water smell of solvents for a long time if you use lacquer paints? I feel like all the overspray getting caught in the water is going to take forever to evaporate and require the booth to be ran way longer than if you sprayed in a regular, dry booth... That, or require getting rid of the stink water after every session, which doesn't sound fun :(
@@benjimlem1284 there might be a slight smell, but I'm not sure, I wear a respirator plus I've been around spray painting daily since I was 12 years old. I was the family business so the smell is second nature to me.
@@barbatosrex9473 thanks for the answers :3 I was hoping with a better spray booth (I've made one out of hardware store fan and a cardboard box) I could skip the respirator cause with my big dumb face even size L hurts my nose after a while and I don't really smell anything in the room but everybody says 'wear a respirator anyway' >_>'
How did you drill the hole out in the bucket lid for the hose? Can you share a video on how you assembled the trap bucket? Also, where did you buy the hose?
I just traced the hose with a marker and cut it out using a utility knife. The small holes is a 1/2 inch drill bit. The hose came with the booth but they sell them at hardware stores
My two worries with this: 1) the build-up of paint in the lower filter and in the water is likely to eventually clog up the pump and burn it out. 2) how often do you need to stop painting and go pee with that constantly running water? It's like a dripping tap in the bathroom at night!
I really like the bucket 🪣 trick. That has been the one thing keeping me from getting a booth due to limited spave and ventilation. You mentioned putting water in the bucket. How much water do you put in it? Very informative video!
What size adapter at the top is the one on the right? I would love to send you and adapter that will stop all the fumes and anything that gets past the water and filter.
Still going strong. Works great. Powerful suction and the Waterfall takes out the paint mist like a charm. It's not cheap but it works. Actually both of them have been performing awesome. The company Gaahleri is sending me one of their own which actually is a rebranded Kaizo. But to answer your question it's a big thumbs up 👍
Great video. I'm not sold on it tho. I think for me I rather just make my own cause I like to have plenty of space and not be stuffed in a small area to work with. I got a ship that is about 17 inches to 20 inches long. I've worked with all kinds of smells and other fumes and I've never really had a problem. I think I go with a filter with a huge fan system or even double fans just smaller and build a booth that is wide enough for me to work in. Tho it does give me idea's to have a small shelf system for spray guns and parts and cleaner stuff right there.
It's for the better, trust me. Mine just died on me and it has a bunch of poor design decisions (eg. No air filter) that will just make you wish you spent your money elsewhere.
I'm going to have to use your carbon filter technique. Awesome. I bought the more expensive one and it has been working well with me and there are little to no smells. Based on what my family say. Clean-up is relatively easy. If anyone has the cash, buy the more expensive one.
If you'll be testing more of these, a Halloween fog machine might be worth an investment. Can probably get one cheap in late October/early November once all the popup shops start packing up.
Great products but a bit pricey for my wallet. Maybe after your review they will sell a couple thousand and the price will drop! Really liked the comparison you did. Always a good thing to keep up on the newest products and you do a great job of it. Thanks for all your hard work and time you spend making these vids for us.

Question about the 3-filter water booth - does the water smell of solvents for a long time if you use lacquer paints? I feel like all the overspray getting caught in the water is going to take forever to evaporate and require the booth to be ran way longer than if you sprayed in a regular, dry booth... That, or require getting rid of the stink water after every session, which doesn't sound fun :(
The water has zero smell. I clean it once a week
@@barbatosrex9473 interesting... even right after a spray session?
@@benjimlem1284 there might be a slight smell, but I'm not sure, I wear a respirator plus I've been around spray painting daily since I was 12 years old. I was the family business so the smell is second nature to me.
@@barbatosrex9473 thanks for the answers :3 I was hoping with a better spray booth (I've made one out of hardware store fan and a cardboard box) I could skip the respirator cause with my big dumb face even size L hurts my nose after a while and I don't really smell anything in the room but everybody says 'wear a respirator anyway' >_>'
the last one you tested seemed a little half baked and like it would be annoying to use. this one seems to be really well thought out and much nicer.
@@barbatosrex9473 Fantastic, thanks BR mush appreciated sir! 👍👍
My two worries with this:
1) the build-up of paint in the lower filter and in the water is likely to eventually clog up the pump and burn it out.
Is that kind of setup safe?
Does it removes as well the smell of the paint on the spoon? TIA
Can we get an UPDATE on the Spray Booth. Is it a Buy or is it a Pass ?
????
Still going strong. Works great. Powerful suction and the Waterfall takes out the paint mist like a charm. It's not cheap but it works. Actually both of them have been performing awesome. The company Gaahleri is sending me one of their own which actually is a rebranded Kaizo. But to answer your question it's a big thumbs up 👍
Where to buy can't find anywhere in the UK and no one will ship to UK please help
What’s the difference between the 110V and the 220V ?? Apologies if that’s a dumb questions
The US uses 110V outlets, Europe uses 220V
Hi are you painting in basement? How you deal with ventilation problem?
I have a window but check out my video on using a bucket to vent your spray booth indoors. Also the follow up video more ways to vent your spray booth
Whats the best satin silver paint youve ever used?
I will be doing a huge silver test comparison soon. I do like Mr Color Silver 8.
@@barbatosrex9473 thanks! ✔️
To make it even better take distilled water and + your pump will live longer.
I did use Distilled, forgot to show it in the video. I will mention it in a short video along with the decibels
Does anyone know what happened to this spray booth? It doesn't seem to be anywhere on Robot Kai's site, even for pre-order.
If you don't mind, could you tell me what you bought?
If you'll be testing more of these, a Halloween fog machine might be worth an investment. Can probably get one cheap in late October/early November once all the popup shops start packing up.
Great products but a bit pricey for my wallet. Maybe after your review they will sell a couple thousand and the price will drop! Really liked the comparison you did. Always a good thing to keep up on the newest products and you do a great job of it. Thanks for all your hard work and time you spend making these vids for us.
