Teddy is a marketing Genius!!!! with one word MEOVV he has generated so much buzz. Now he has created anticipation and expectation. The Anticipation is easy, it stems from the viewers we want good music and from the visuals alone we want great stage presence. The expectation is the Legacy of what Teddy has produced before.....Mainly Blackpink. I think, WE, should temper our expectations though. These are 5 new girls, they will have their own talents and skills. We have all seen what happens when you put girls into a concept that they arent suitable for (Illit) but at the same time, we have to observe and respect where they end up at. Let them be MEOVV, dont expect them to be Blackpink 2.0

Without any music being officially/publicly released, MEOVV has signed an agreement with Capital Records and Capital Records has released a MEOVV teaser (5 black cats on top of the Capital Records building) on social media.
If the music is going to be like BP, will this satisfy Blinks just because Meovv's producer is Teddy? This is my honest curious. 🤔
Anyway, the satisfaction on their talents would have been okay because these girls had been trainee for a long time before debut.

So exited for them! Meovv seems to be a promising group.
Fun fact: The OG lineup was 7 girls (Ella,Gawon,Anna,Sooin,Narin plus Bailey Sok and Annie Moon) but unfortunately both bailey and annie decided to leave the group due personal reasons. They tried to replace both of the girls but after annie left, one of the possible contestant left too and they did a backround check in the other girl then they droped her.

While these teasers were being released; Bailey Sok, Annie Moon, and three unidentified women that had been rumored to be TheBlackLabel trainees were with Jeon Somi partying at several events in Seoul. (G Dragon's birthday party, concerts, listening parties, clubs).
Given the K-pop industry standard rules for trainees prohibiting drinking & partying, those sightings were being used by k-netizens as evidence that the girls seen with Somi were no longer trainees and would not be in MEOVV.
There is no such fact. It's all just a rumor because they took a photo together, meovv is a group with 5 members.
I didn’t think I would be more excited by this than by BM. I was so rooting for BM after the last evaluation, but now I fully get it. YG may have created BP but Teddy is who made them. The music is what bugs me with BM. I expected the same levels of creativity than with BP. But Teddy made most of their songs. Not YG. I still like BM members and they are so freaking talented. But their talents feels waisted on those songs. All my hopes are now on Meovv and Teddy to rock my world like BP did. I’m so excited.

exactly, this is what people don't realize... teddy and his team are behind the greatest hits from bigbang, 2ne1, blackpink, jeon somi... all of those hits have the "yg style" but in reality it's "teddy's style", and when YG tries to reproduce it for their new groups that are not connected to teddy (like treasure and babymonster) it doesn't feel original, it doesn't feel right, it feels bland... it feels like a copy... I have really high hopes for MEOVV because of this... teddy is producing them, i want a debut as iconic as "Blackpink in your area, been a bad girl, I know I am, and I'm so hot, I need a fan, I don't want a boy, I need a man" & "I go by the name CL of 2NE1, It's been a long time comin' but we here now, and we 'bout to set the roof on fire, baby you better get yours, 'cause I'm gettin' mine"
Other producers are cool though. BM is a hiphop group but when fans request that they wanna see something sweet of vocals, YG gave. And I like it, BM vibe and songs. I said by my type of music. I used to be a vocal tutorial, music is music, it's will modern or back to the basic or mixed vibe, its music.

I still bought their songs on iTunes because I want to support those girls but what’s the point of the music YG gives them does nothing for me. And I know I’m not the only one who’s disappointed too. A lot of blinks who vowed to support BM are now rethinking because the music is subpar. The singing is great, the rapping is great in terms of skills but in terms or writing or production it’s meh…
Teddy was the one who created all of BP’s songs that made them as famous as they are today, and it’s cruelly missing from BM. Maybe one day BM will have a bop but for now, it’s not it. Even their music videos were bland. Meovv is now the group that attracts me and I’m hoping they’ll pull off what BM couldn’t. Unfortunately now BM fans are attacking meovv because they feel insecure. here comes another fanwar
Imo fan wars happen because of these kinds of comments: 'I'm hoping they pull off what BM couldn't '. Of course people can have their opinions, be disappointed by a group's music or it's just not their taste. But there's also no reason why people can't just keep their opinions to themselves and offline, rather than commenting things that would fuel fan arguments. I love Blackpink, enjoy BM's music and am sooo looking to Meovv's music too.

MNET and WakeOne Entertainment made the I-Land 2: N/a reality survival show. MNET will produce & distribute the show and WakeOne will promote & manage the group created from the show.
MNET contracted TheBlackLabel to run that show and make the title song for the show.
WakeOne Entertainment then made a deal with TheBlackLabel, so that TheBlackLabel will make the majority of the music for IZNA.
As confirmed by all the companies involved with this, WakeOne Entertainment will manage and control IZNA.
WakeOne Entertainment curently manages Kep1er and Zerobaseone.

In 2022, TheBlackLabel and the Charoen Pokphand Group formed a partnership called The Black Sea. Since 2023, The Black Sea has been developing a global girl group and it is expected to debut in 2027-2028.

Visuals are absolutely serving, that is already given, the only thing that draws me in to this new group by YG is the fact this is Teddys new group, we all know how talented Teddy is when it comes to making music, stil to this day, Teddys blackpick music are still top tier in my playlist, some fans already pointing out they are really the next little sister to Blackpink, but YG had already made a good job with Babymonster, i know that maybe in my theory this is YG or Teddys contingency plan to compete with the next generation, XG is making a strong hype in the world right now, and spme strong 4th gen already set their foothold in the fandom, to the likes of LE SERRAFIM, AESPA , to name a few, so my question is is MEOVV a competition made by YG to compete with Babymonster, or are they to help them instead to a very absolute mania in the current state of k pop, particularly in the female idol scene, still im curious how meovv talent would be compare to babymonster, i would love to hear your thoughts andrew in this matter, since you are among the top tier fans of blackpink, buut hey Blackpink still my top 1 no matter what, that will still remains to be in a few more years to follow though.

As much as i dislike groups being compared to each other because fandoms use that as an excuse to spread hate, but because of who (Teddy, YG) are involved with the production of the groups (2NE1, Blackpink, Babymonster, MEOVV) it is inevitable for comparisons to happen between those groups.
That said some k-netizens are trying to explain to Westerners what the deal is and why there is hate by using this analogy...
Parent A (YG) and Parent B (Teddy) had two daughters (2NE1 and Blackpink).
After the Parents got divorced, Parent A then had another daughter (Babymonster) and Parent B also had another daughter (MEOVV). Therefore; 2NEI is the eldest sister, Blackpink is the middle sister, and both Babymonster & MEOVV are the little sisters to 2NE1 & Blackpink, in addition to being half sisters to each other (Babymonster & MEOVV).
Being half sisters is why there is hate due to who their parent is and the underlying fandom loyalty to that specific parent.
It's all in the family, can't we just support them both equally?
