You can say about Bang PD what you want - but he was in the same position as MHJ is with New Jeans and he did an incredible job with the boys. He didn’t make them codependent on him. He even was often too strict with them. I’m sure he often was the bad guy but that also made BTS closer. He taught the boys how great they are and gave them confidence in their artistic abilities. I watched videos of Korean lawyers and journalists talking about both sides. What I realized was that NJ just want to get kicked out without paying the fine for breaking the contract. That was what MHJ wanted in the first place to own NJ. Basically Hybe gave so much benefit to MHJ in the first place compared to other CEOs in Hybe. Then took those 'extra' benefit from her but MHJ still has the right to produce NJ so it's not like NJ lost their producer. So why NJ talking about wanting MHJ as CEO again? @@oliveb. From what I've read, this new contract had a duration of 2 months, at which time they could discuss any possible extensions of that contract. There may have been other stipulations that we, the public, weren't made privy to, but she only had a few days in order to sign it, and she refused, so she lost her last remaining job... now, we are hit with this fiasco, and I'm sure we can look forward to even more lawsuits.

During the pandemic when I was going through difficult times New Jeans are the most honest Innocence and their music helped me cheer up and I support them in their difficult times. I hope they come out of this situation with much trouble. They were my hope during COVID in 2022 their refreshing music makes me happy. Every member's happiness which I want to protect is disappearing in front of me . I became bunny because of it. They did nothing wrong. They were genuinely working hard. I've said this from the start. The New Jeans girls really don't seem to get how fortunate they've been in the Kpop scene. They were basicially cosigned from the very start by a very prestigious company. Success was bound to happen. Do you know how many groups debut in Kpop, with years and years of practice, just to get a total of 100,000 views in the span of a couple of years? It's crazy. They were given a full on luxury home to live in, with separate rooms for each members. BY the Han river. Business is business, money does not care for your feelings. When you've grown accustumed to the type of living and success they've been given, of course you're going to revolt when shit hits the fan. They know nothing of the true hardships people go through in Kpop. They're way too sheltered with nepotism. Bang PD ignored you? A manager within a different group told the members to ignore you? That's just life. They are not your family, you're coworkers. You reap what you sow. And when you steamroll other people into your mishaps and misfortunes, of course people are going to look at you differently. New Jeans need to ground themselves. They're lucky they rake in so much money for the company. If it wasn't for that, they would've been tossed to the middle of the streets like in so many other cases of Kpop groups getting disgruntled with their workship in this business. This conference they held was a very dumb move, and it isn't because they're stupid, it's because they're blind to the booming of success. Excellent point, NJ are digging their own grave. If they are not able to continue in kpop well it's their own fault. I personally think they need to go period. I won't be the least bit sad if they are found working as a waitress, a counter server, trying to get a entry level job as typist, or call center- 5 years from now. It happens to a lot of people. She was working some avg, everyday, low-pay job. Humiliated, not being able to make ends meet. She did seem changed. I think they are in for a really rude reality check that many kpop labels do not treat idols well at all and that they had it better even without MHJ there using them to puff up her own ego & spoiling them (also kinda makes me think of Love Bombing that Narcissist's also do with lavish gifts etc). I remember when Bon Voyage first came out. It was clear that BTS was being given the chance to learn real-life lessons -- how to manage their limited budget, how to navigate in a non-Korean speaking world on their own, how to resolve problems with little help from staff. BTS themselves recognized that they didn't know anything yet. If MHJ and their parents really cared about them, they should have taught these girls the same lessons, instead of the princess treatment.
These girls really did themselves a disservice. They basically told the whole world that they are expendable, that they can't adapt and function without min heejin. That their talents are basically not enough to carry them forward on their own. All the adults in their lives failed them coz this should have been handled privately with their parents and lawyers present. Now they can't take it back and they are really appearing to be people that are hard to work with, nobody's ever gonna want to be associated with them. I get that this is their first real work experiences as adults but I hate to break it to them, in the real world, it IS really like that: YOU CANNOT GET EVERYTHING YOU WANT. There are more difficult situations to go through than deal with a manager who says "ignore her". And you can't tantrum your way into the real world, you will deal with a lot of people you don't like but have to work with, and you will experience changes on everything,. You will have superiors who won't think the world shines out of your ass, you won't be forever comfortable. I'm afraid that is part of growing up. They might learn it the hard way now. The only way to have at least a modicum of a good run is to be humble, work hard and efficiently, and RESPECT people around you. Karma will take care of the rest.

Maybe Hybe shouldn’t have gotten rid of BTSs apartments. Start every group in that single bedroom for minimum of a year. Limit budget for the first year especially. Then move them to the next one which wasn’t bad but still wasn’t amazing. Keep them there for 2 years. If after 3 years performing well. All good. Problem is these groups are being given everything at the start. No one starts their career with the best. Usually, in any career you work your way up. Even if they pay to end their contract, it is standard to have a non-compete clause so if there is such a clause in their contract they will not be able to release any music with a different label as it would still be competing with HYBE.
The fee for breaking their contract with HYBE is 74 million US dollars for each member of the group, where are they going to come up with that amount of money, that is why they want to stay at HYBE and have the CEO reinstated, which is not going to happen, as she refused the creative director job and she no longer works for either Ador or HYBE aka she abandoned New Jeans.

In Australia, we have a work culture where respect is earned. You treat your boss politely, and expect a level of politeness back. But it goes both ways. If either the boss or the employee is rude, we question it. So yes, that level of disrespect from New Jeans would raise our eyebrows too.

The relationship between MHJ and New Jeans is so clearly and obviously a case of narcissistic abuse and co-dependence. When Hobi comes back, it's going to be 100x harder. BTS built and literally owns that company because of how many shares they hold together for voting rights. I've said this before. There is a whole treatment form of therapy based on not assuming you understand all aspects of any situation. It is called CBT. CBT points out and teaches you not to believe your conclusion is always the right one. There are often multiple factors we wouldn't have all the facts and we jump to conclusions. Hanni might have been right, or maybe the manager wanted her group to keep their focus. There are many ways that she might have jumped to the wrong conclusion. It is way too far out to know now. No one knows what they are going through? Sorry ladies anyone who is enamored of KPOP knows this saga. What would they have done if they had been treated like BTS was their first year or two? No one to turn to? HYBE wants this group to succeed, they've given them all the resources all along. So why are these idols digging a hole for themselves? I also don't like how Illit and Le Sserafim have been attacked as a result of the machinations of ADOR and MHJ. Inter-company squabbles really are appalling.
I completely agree and that is what children are supposed to be taught but I think they were sheltered to a point where they are left crippled in certain ways and that is probably the reason they feel they cannot do anything without their CEO. I agree, we don't have enough information to make any conclusions about that incident. We also only have her side of the story but absolutely no context. Sometimes if a persons thinks everyone is against them they will perceive certain behaviors as an attack when that may not be the case. Also just stating that incident only it's difficult to conclude it's an "unsafe environment", it may just be an isolated case by one rude person but I noted that she didn't say it was a pattern.

MHJ is not at Hybe, she didn’t accept the contract and abandoned the girls which is sad, cause they truly miss her because they were with her 2-3 years or so. Good or bad, the girls bonded with her. To speak against your employer is not a good thing. They need mental therapy/healing. I think what’s really telling with the Shin Wooseok stuff is that the channel and the videos were never deleted. They were privated. In fact, the director’s cut is no longer up on that channel which is the only thing that Ador asked him to take down. What he also revealed in his little melt down was that the agreement between MHJ and his company was more of a handshake agreement instead of a contract agreement, which is very telling on what other collabs she has done for NewJeans and how bad and unprofessional these agreements could be.

Honestly, everything seems so orchestrated. Since the beginning of last month newjeans have been dropping cryptic messages in support of mhj, telling fans that everything will eventually be resolved, then that award show happend, and finally this. I bet that on the 25th they'll sue hybe to terminate their contract without penalties. This video was to finally building their case, saying that they made a formal complaint and that hybe didn't fix the issue. I just hope that before taking this court, they consult independent lawyers, rather than aligning their case with mhj, to get honest advice on whether they can actually win. Right now, it feels too rushed, it has not been too long with the new ceo and their case seems incomplete. If they really were worried about their careers they'd be talking more about the abilities they want for their team and even the level of investment they expect. In my country, no employee would go on air or speak out, asking for their old boss. The least one could do is to acknowledge the situation and find a way to cope. Sadly, these kids were not taught by their parents that they could achieve anything under any circumstances. Success is about confidence and self-esteem, not who your boss is. Also, it's worth noting that BTS had a change of CEO in 2021; change is a part of life, and it's important to adapt. Do they think BTS members didn't worry about that change? - I haven't looked up these girls; therefore, I don't know who is who; however, why come with that baseball cap- Don't you want to be "you" instead of coming on air like your boss? - You mentioned DLemon, however, at least he had been in the business for long and he knew that he will not get the deal, however, these girls seem to think they are the biggest shareholders of Hybe. Although i haven't watched what they said, I want to say that these girls are "pushing" Hybe to sack so that they dont have to pay the fee. That is Bang Pd new concept of making idols. They become the kind of artists, who can discern what is good for their career and for their life. Normal talented kids are becoming artists under a label, after a long time of hard work, but in the end, not that training is the base of their success, their personal talent, singing, dancing is the foundation of the idols they can become one day. They aren't the product of only the label's work, their talent is important too. That's why the labels are making auditions to discover talented kids, otherwise they will took them from the streets, from parks or schools and make idols from random picked kids. No manager, producer, whatever should say to some artists that they are nothing without him/her. Any idol/artist should know that he with his talent is on the stage, and no the CEO, producer, director, because he/ the artist is the talented one, and not a bunch of professionals that are somehow expressing through the artists.

You can say about Bang PD what you want - but he was in the same position as MHJ is with New Jeans and he did an incredible job with the boys. He didn’t make them codependent on him. He even was often too strict with them. I’m sure he often was the bad guy but that also made BTS closer. He taught the boys how great they are and gave them confidence in their artistic abilities. He also taught them how to fight and resolve that.

I watched videos of Korean lawyers and journalists talking about both sides. What I realized was that NJ just want to get kicked out without paying the fine for breaking the contract. That was what MHJ wanted in the first place to own NJ. Basically Hybe gave so much benefit to MHJ in the first place compared to other CEOs in Hybe. Then took those 'extra' benefit from her but MHJ still has the right to produce NJ so it's not like NJ lost their producer. So why NJ talking about wanting MHJ as CEO again? When Hybe decided that decision already ? Even though they mentioned that no one forced them have that yt live. I feel like MHJ is behind all of it. There may have been other stipulations that we, the public, weren't made privy to, but she only had a few days in order to sign it, and she refused, so she lost her last remaining job... now, we are hit with this fiasco, and I'm sure we can look forward to even more lawsuits.

I've said this from the start. The New Jeans girls really don't seem to get how fortunate they've been in the Kpop scene. I remember when Bon Voyage first came out. It was clear that BTS was being given the chance to learn real-life lessons -- how to manage their limited budget, how to navigate in a non-Korean speaking world on their own, how to resolve problems with little help from staff. BTS themselves recognized that they didn't know anything yet. If MHJ and their parents really cared about them, they should have taught these girls the same lessons, instead of the princess treatment.

These girls really did themselves a disservice. They basically told the whole world that they are expendable, that they can't adapt and function without min heejin. Now they can't take it back and they are really appearing to be people that are hard to work with, nobody's ever gonna want to be associated with them. I get that this is their first real work experiences as adults but I hate to break it to them, in the real world, it IS really like that: YOU CANNOT GET EVERYTHING YOU WANT. There are more difficult situations to go through than deal with a manager who says "ignore her". And you can't tantrum your way into the real world, you will deal with a lot of people you don't like but have to work with, and you will experience changes on everything,. You will have superiors who won't think the world shines out of your ass, you won't be forever comfortable. I'm afraid that is part of growing up. They might learn it the hard way now. The only way to have at least a modicum of a good run is to be humble, work hard and efficiently, and RESPECT people around you. Karma will take care of the rest.

Maybe Hybe shouldn’t have gotten rid of BTSs apartments. Start every group in that single bedroom for minimum of a year. Limit budget for the first year especially. Not saying starve them, but they don’t need the best hair and makeup, the best MV crew. Have them write and produce their own music. Have them make fans through UA-cam. Then move them to the next one which wasn’t bad but still wasn’t amazing. Keep them there for 2 years. If after 3 years performing well. All good. Problem is these groups are being given everything at the start. No one starts their career with the best. Usually, in any career you work your way up.
For those girls I would strip everything back, no MVs, no songs they don’t write. It would have to be proven they wrote it as well. Even if they pay to end their contract, it is standard to have a non-compete clause so if there is such a clause in their contract they will not be able to release any music with a different label as it would still be competing with HYBE.
The fee for breaking their contract with HYBE is 74 million US dollars for each member of the group, where are they going to come up with that amount of money, that is why they want to stay at HYBE and have the CEO reinstated, which is not going to happen, as she refused the creative director job and she no longer works for either Ador or HYBE aka she abandoned New Jeans.

The first thing I noticed is they looked like Min Hee-Jin when she did her infamous press conference: messy hair, two of them wearing glasses, hat, no make-up, etc. I guess they subscribe to the Min Hee-Jin philosophy that looking disheveled will increase audience sympathy. Instead of making music that live on in perpetuity no matter how basic, New Jeans went on a live. Debut BTS wouldn't have done such and do not spread their controversies etc or decisions until they have a plan, and months or years have passed.

There is a whole treatment form of therapy based on not assuming you understand all aspects of any situation. It is called CBT.
CBT points out and teaches you not to believe your conclusion is always the right one. There are often multiple factors we wouldn't have all the facts and we jump to conclusions.
Hanni might have been right, or maybe the manager wanted her group to keep their focus. There are many ways that she might have jumped to the wrong conclusion. It is way too far out to know now.

I agree, we don't have enough information to make any conclusions about that incident. We also only have her side of the story but absolutely no context. Sometimes if a persons thinks everyone is against them they will perceive certain behaviors as an attack when that may not be the case.
Also just stating that incident only it's difficult to conclude it's an "unsafe environment", it may just be an isolated case by one rude person but I noted that she didn't say it was a pattern.

I think what’s really telling with the Shin Wooseok stuff is that the channel and the videos were never deleted. They were privated. In fact, the director’s cut is no longer up on that channel which is the only thing that Ador asked him to take down. What he also revealed in his little melt down was that the agreement between MHJ and his company was more of a handshake agreement instead of a contract agreement, which is very telling on what other collabs she has done for NewJeans and how bad and unprofessional these agreements could be.

Honestly, everything seems so orchestrated. Since the beginning of last month newjeans have been dropping cryptic messages in support of mhj, telling fans that everything will eventually be resolved, then that award show happend, and finally this. I bet that on the 25th they'll sue hybe to terminate their contract without penalties. This video was to finally building their case, saying that they made a formal complaint and that hybe didn't fix the issue.
I just hope that before taking this court, they consult independent lawyers, rather than aligning their case with mhj, to get honest advice on whether they can actually win. Right now, it feels too rushed, it has not been too long with the new ceo and their case seems incomplete. If they really were worried about their careers they'd be talking more about the abilities they want for their team and even the level of investment they expect. In my country, no employee would go on air or speak out, asking for their old boss. The least one could do is to acknowledge the situation and find a way to cope. Sadly, these kids were not taught by their parents that they could achieve anything under any circumstances. Success is about confidence and self-esteem, not who your boss is. Also, it's worth noting that BTS had a change of CEO in 2021; change is a part of life, and it's important to adapt. Do they think BTS members didn't worry about that change?

HYBE released a statement saying they did investigate the claim, and they had CCTV footage of the group greeting her and no evidence of anything said like she is claiming. So either she was mistaken, or is straight lying.
No, what she actually said was that she greeted the member, and she did. However, when they were returning, the manager from the other group instructed her to ignore the member in front of her.
And usually, no audio is recorded on CCTV, so even though you can see what's happening, you can't hear what they're saying.

Normal talented kids are becoming artists under a label, after a long time of hard work, but in the end, not that training is the base of their success, their personal talent, singing, dancing is the foundation of the idols they can become one day. They aren't the product of only the label's work, their talent is important too. That's why the labels are making auditions to discover talented kids, otherwise they will took them from the streets, from parks or schools and make idols from random picked kids.
No manager, producer, whatever should say to some artists that they are nothing without him/her. Any idol/artist should know that he with his talent is on the stage, and no the CEO, producer, director, because he/ the artist is the talented one, and not a bunch of professionals that are somehow expressing through the artists.
