I can't understand why they would jump to "ear piercing", the jewelry or technique, when the dash _clearly_ makes the word the compound adjective "ear-piercing" which means only one thing, a sound that pierces your ear.

As an Australian, they barely have accents. Most of us just sound normal, not thick heavy accents. Some of us do speak with a thick accent however. Brett and Eddie are possibly the least Australian sounding people on UA-cam. But I'm Australian, so I could be very very wrong.
I'm English and to me they don't have strong Australian accents. Some words you can hear it more. But maybe it's because to foreigners, English and Australian accents sound similar idk
