Plus one of the roommates always stayed with his girlfriend. Maybe the other was a messy pig & didn't find an odor odd.. or didn't notice as it was probably a gradual thing

Its a little crazy but it happens. He might have assumed it was rotting garbage or something.

Travis was not a good person he was playing a lot of mind games with Jodi, she was very unstabe and i think he took advantage of her. He wanted to have his cake and eat it too. One thing Travis was wrong about is that she's a sociopath, no Jodi is a psychopath through and through. She was born like this.
The guards are letting her control them. She won’t be young looking forever. When that day comes, which isn’t too far off, she’s about middle age now and she won’t have any admirable traits to rely on.
He knew her “crazy”, hence his decision to break it off. Despite that he played a dangerous and disgusting game continuing to be intimate with her while engaged to another.

I really would recommend reading Conviction by Juan Martinez. Absolutely incredibly written book by Martinez explaining the behind-the-scenes of how he managed to get to where he could loophole her.
Martinez was a crook and was disbarred.
This is weird. The documentary on this said that he hid Jody from his friends and family. She's a stone cold, calculating killer. There isn't any part of her that's innocent.
