Happened to me the other day.Luckily I had just stepped out of my garage… was an easy enough fix though. I replaced all the springs on both doors even the only 1 spring broke.better be safe than sorry
I had a 500 pound door from 60s neighbour went to close it that thing slammed down faster than inflation hitting 2023. Guy closing it almost lost his toes
Inflation is nothing more than a government constructed strawman to cover for corporate price hikes to increase profit, profit being the core objective of capitalism and thus control.
What does that mean….”stop at each individual roller” ? We use our garage door every day at least 4 times and sometimes more. That’s somewhere between 2000 to 3000 spring operations per year. We have never had a spring break before 7-9 years. I tried the new system that you adjust with an electric or battery operated screwdriver, it only lasted about 3 years, no more for me. Torsion springs are the best. My double door uses 2 torsion springs, when they break, I replace both.
dudes talking about spring balancing test opening the door manually to check tension for each panel though out the radius it should stop at each roller at the top
@@ekeesee95 After we did the normal 7 1/2 turns, we opened the door to about 4 feet from the floor, if the door stayed there it was balanced. We would increase the tension either way. The chalk line on the spring would indicate the number of the turns. PS: I have a 16’ x 8’ totally insulated and encapsulated door, it took 8 1/2 turns.
My boots are timberland and i can say that there worth every cent and they last a long long time ive droped engines tooles exhaust pipes ive crashed shit in those boots and they havent even really scuffed and there water proof anyone reading this i recommend you get a pair for your self as they are almost indestructible and really protect your feet and mine arnt even steel toe
I disliked my timberlands, the insoles were amazing, until they exploded. And replacement insoles never quite felt right. My favorite boots for the last few years has been a safety toe Chelsea boot from Merrell. The toe box width was incredible.
I’ve seen an improperly remove garage door spring flying through the entire garage and lodging itself into the concrete back wall. I’ll never go near or help any dumbass diy-ing (yeah, pun intended) anything on their garage door ever. That’s something I’ll gladly pay a professional
@@superduperboyx Even a door that is balanced will not stop at each roll of rollers once there is momentum i.e. up or down momentum rolling. With the door closed pull the release cord bring the door halfway open let it rest there on its own it should not slip or slam down or shoot up next step bring the door fully open the door should rest in that position you do the slowly if you’re moving it forward you’re giving it momentum not allowing you to check for the very thing this video advising to check which is spring balance. This is erroneous information and a good way to upsell components like Springs when they are not broken
If you hear a bang in your garage door and no one is there your spring broke
Frff

The actual danger of the spring scares me more than the door
You mean the opener? I'm the operator technically. 😅

Mine is opened by hand maybe 10-15 times a year. I think I'm fine 😆
My grandma used to have that same garage door with the same locks

The timberland pros are horribleee for people that have to walk a lot in them worst work boots I’ve had
If I damaged one door do i have to replace both of them even if I didn't touch the other garage door

The fact that my garage door has broke before
We have the one that goes over the door now vs over the tracks. The few times those springs have popped. Sheesh. It's fucking scary man...
A thought, could you do a video of before and after to see the difference. pls and thx. thanks for the video
I got Timberland pro boots cause I couldn't find any other boots that have size 14 wide and I heard they are waterproof and electric resistant.
I fricked around and found out
How do I tell what springs my double car garage has?
Doing all that no safety cables you obviously don’t know what your doing lol
What does it mean “if it doesn’t stop at every roller?” Makes no sense.
Why do you mean each roller
I love this erroneous bs you’re pushing on this video it’s hilarious
what erroneous BS is he pushing?!?

@@greatdoorsandgates4991 I guess he could of also mentioned the garage door might need to be rebalanced OR replaced.
Horrible invention
