When a company makes “how to videos “ and others charts for spring tension available to the public, I’m more than willing to patronize this company. Thanks for making this video, I will certainly buy my parts from you.

Worked like a charm. Great company willing to help individual homeowners. Thank you
My garage door spring broke. Ordered the door spring and tension bars on express garage. Got the parts and replaced it today after watching your great video. Couldn't have done it without you. Saved $$$. Thank you much!
I’m doing both my torsion springs Wednesday and saving $500! Overhead Door Company have a nice day!
i watched this video on how to fix my cables, spring and door after 3 quotes for $2k+ for door replacement. 20 bucks later and im back in business. Door still needs replacing but now it can wait a little while longer.
For a door tracks and spring that should be 1400
Thanks for the excellent video. After watching multiple how to vids, this one seemed the most professional and easy to understand. When its time for a any replacement parts you have my business.
This video takes all the guesswork out of spring tightening. I'm ready to do mine! Thanks
How did it turn out? Haha bout do mine🤙
@@nicgin3945 Set it once and haven't needed to adjust it since. :-)
Followed the tips on a heavy 7 ft. Martin door. I added one more quarter turn. Perfect! Thank you.
Thanks for such a great video. I ordered my springs and tools from you guys, then watched this video. Springs installed successfully! And I still have all ten fingers. Shipping was very fast, thanks for that.
Information was helpful and easy to understand. Fixed mine in 10 minutes and works better than before, thanks a million brother I was worried if I didnt.fix it I wouldn't get my deposit back on the rental!!!!!!
Thanks for posting this video. I moved into a house where the Garage Door was crooked and all out of kilter. I lined up the drums and followed the video to wind the spring. Worked perfectly!
Great video! Nice and concise. My two spring were at 30 and 26 turns and bringing them up to the recommended 32 turns each did the trick. Thanks!
Excellent video! Very well done, made the job a cinch!! Thank you.
Hello. Very informative. I have the same set up as your video.
Do both side have to be equal? Could one side be (31) 1/4 turns and the other be (32) 1/4 turns for alignment?
In my case, when the door gets high enough the (2) steel cables on the end stop turning and become very loose so that when its time to close the door the cables are loose and wind on the steel bar instead of inside the wheel. The loose steel cable is by about 3 good winds loose. If I close the door slightly, I can get the cables on track and everything is good.
I'm trying to figure out if I can adjust each tension spring. Making it tighter. Nothing has been replaced or change in conditions other than this.
Thank you in advance.
Steve-
The 31 recommended quarter turns is just a good starting place for your springs. If your door requires a few more or a few less turns thats fine. The most important thing is to be able to keep the cables on the drums in the up position. Just because one side was adjusted doesn't necessarily mean you have to do the same to there other side but you should try and keep them close to the same. Thank you!

My door lock does not line up with the slot on the rail sinve it is now touching the ground. The door needs to be raised about 2 inches to engage the lock. What are your recommendations to line it up?
Just what I needed to know. Thanks so much for posting. My in-laws garage door is operational again.
Really great instructional. I had a 7ft door and had to adjust the torsion spring as well as install the cables. I followed your instructions exactly. Thank you for saving me some $
Thank you for this video!!
Thanks for the demonstration. I just used this on the new garage door I retro fitted. 28 Turns was the trick and it works perfectly. Cheers Tony

Great video.
Thanks! Helped us fix our shops garage door on this cold nov day
Thank you. I was sure there must be a standard for an initial setting, and you provided it.
Thanks for the great tips for adjusting the spring safely.
Excellent video!
Fantastic information, thank you for posting this video
Very well explained, thanks
Thank you for the video! Very helpful!
Another great video thank you. 🦘🇦🇺
good job my friend. nice explanation.
Thanks Dude! We owe you a beer!!
I knew there had to be some kind of science to this. Of course, the spring also needs to be the correct size - wire diameter, inside diameter, and length from end to end. Otherwise, the torque won't equal the weight of the door at the proper number of turns.
Saved my butt! Thanks!
Great video. I don't use my garage door often. The garage is used for storage. My garage door is hard to open and close. I think I will have to do some lub'n and adjusting.
Worked perfectly.
Got mine now, thanks!
Thanks u helped a bunch
hey thanks man that"s good....

Excellent.
Awesome video really helpful!

Perfect for my needs. Right to the point: 7' = 31 quarter turns = memorized!

Ty
I have a 12 ft door and one of my springs broke.. bought new springs and have it set at 35 turns and it shoots up then stops.. im supposed to have 45 turns. Ive not put it there yet but if i do its gonna shoot up even worse.. any ideas?
do less turns
nice
Nice video. It worked for me.
Video helpd
Thank You
SO HELPFUL THANX
Why does the width of the door not count in the calculations of turns?
Because the turns are for how high the door is. Each full turn brings the door up 1 foot with the cables on the side. Usually a tech may add 1 or 2 quarter additional turns to take the slack of the cable when the door is fully up.
Thanks for the refresher and chart!
Outstanding help! Thank you.
Thanks for the video, just what I needed, worked perfect
Thank you for these training videos...I live in Southern California and my local garage door company wanted $295 to come out and do this. Not! Me missing work for their 4 hour window of arrival while I miss a half day of work...that will cost even more than the $295 quote.
Helpful video. Just had to replace the cables and they were different length by a few inches. Went a head and took tension off spring, set the drums and tensioned the spring per the chart and works great.
