The small defects always look worse when you have your face right next to them. Anyone else wont even notice it being they dont know its there. I went through this when i built my log home. It drove me crazy until i figured out no one else will even see it. For the most part the work you do on your own place ends up being a better quality job than if you hired someone to do it! Dont sweat the small stuff as your doing a great job!!!
Quick idea!! For around the light get door and window foam weather stripping or rope caulking. Rope caulking is more permanent but harder to remove later should you need to. Also (me) I'd make a round circle of wood then cut another circle out of the center then put foam weather stripping between the metal and the wood. The depth of foam twice the depth of metal ribs. So when you screw it up it makes a seal that heat can't escape into ceiling and make it sweat Hope this helps 😊
It has been my experience that all the walls and ceiling should have a sealed interior vapor barrier. Usually a product called Acustaseal is used to seal the vapor barrier seams. I have done remodel work on houses in Alaska and anywhere moisture can move into wall it will cause mold in insulation. The freeze and condensation point in walls in real cold climates is in the middle of the insulation so any moisture will not make it through to the outside wall like it would in a more temperate climate.
The ceiling looks very nice and bright. That was a lot of team work getting the tin up there. I remember as a kid helping my mom and dad put up sheetrock. He made a T shape for us to hold it up. Made it easier. The cabin is really coming together. You've both put so much work into making a home and it looks wonderful.
Absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the corrugated metal ceiling!!! I'm inspired by watching the way the two of you work together, building your home and achieving what many of us only dream about. Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us. Do you miss the heat and humidity of the midwest yet? 😂 Southern Indiana and 93° here today, I'm so ready for Fall weather. I'm looking forward to next weeks video. 🖐
That was an uncomfortable job to get thru, but the outcome sure looks great!!! I like the metal ceiling and it'll keep it warmer in the winters, maybe won't have to go through so much wood 😊
I was going to install a metal ceiling last year but, I decided to wait this year and because of all the work done on the outside I haven't got to it. Maybe next year.
Hello friends. I think everything is coming together quite nice. Don’t worry on little flaws. I mean if I come to your house and say dang why is that leaf on the floor or a chip in the paint, well maybe I would be the problem. Ya know!! You both have put so much love in your house I would only notice how amazing it is that you had the knowledge to do it. Congratulations guys. Your house your your lovely house and you are amazing! Take care. I’m playing catch up. Heading ova to your next video lol. ❤.
Mini orb has a lot closer corrugations and is usually the one used inside on bars, etc. This Galv finish wont stay, especially if there is moisture inside, eventually it will have a rusty look, which looks rustic and ok if thats what you are going for., otherwise paint it.
2 Peter 3:9 King James Version 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Gods blessings over you .
Da braucht ihr weniger Holz zum Feuern wird viel Wärmer sein an der Türe würde ich noch was machen weil ja da gleich viel wärme weg ist wenn die auf gemacht wird
No reason why it would. A wood stove sucks the moisture, usually you keep a pot of water on the top to help humidify the air because it gets so dry. Condensation is usually only an issue when hot meets cold and their ceiling will be warm.
JUST LITTLE STUFF TAKES TIME LOOKS GREAT
Yes it does. Thank you 😊
Looks really nice!
Thank you 😊

That’s very kind of you. Thank you so much.
Wow ! Amazing work guys.
Thanks 😊
The inside is turning out real nice. I can tell a lot of the commenters aren't familiar with wood stoves. You should have no trouble with moisture.
I love the new ceiling, it was the perfect choice, and it reflects light which brightens the main area and makes it bigger than it is, very nice.
The home is really coming together well. I bet you two are so excited to get it completed. Good work!!!!
I love the corrugated metal on the ceiling, it really sets off the interior. Good choice

You two work so well together! Things are really coming along nicely.

That's different! I would have never considered that! Cool!
Love the metal ceiling!
May have been a pain in the back side to do, but I love the look of the tin ceiling...❤
Ceiling really looks great! 👏
Ceiling looks amazing 🇬🇧😊
Good morning from Syracuse NY everyone
You can buy 3rd hand telescoping poles or just cut some pieces of 2x4’s to help hold ceiling metal or other jobs.
Love watching you build too‼️❤️
Great idea!
The corrugated metal is such a cool idea. Love it!!
Looks great but that made my back hurt just watching! lol
Love the ceiling. I hate drywall so much that I've considered going this route too.
Gonna look nice.

You said it was cheap ceiling but I love love it. Hard work wasn’t it. Another great job you two.
Thank you!
About half the price of tongue and groove. I think its turning out decent. Excited to see the trim and lights up.
Well done! Looks great.
So glad to see y'all getting the inside done! 😸👋🐾🐾💞🌻🌻🇱🇷

I didn't think I would like the corrugated metal but it looks great especially by the shiplap. Great job
I wasn’t to sure about the idea at first either but it looks much better up and I think it’ll really look nice once the trim is up.
Love the ceiling. Makes the room look bigger. Thank you for sharing. Take care from Cape Cod✌️🇺🇸

For the lights could you make like a wooden or plastic cover to go around the lights to make it cover the metal?
What abouta piece of flat steel made into atube put in the hole & the light put in it

Talk about labor intensive!
Way harder than the tongue and groove.
It's looking great! Good Job! Everything gets you closer to the finished product.
I am SO ready to be finished!
sheet rock would have been better on ceiling for the lights
Yeah, definitely would work better with the lights but I wouldn’t wish sheet rocking a ceiling on my worst enemy.😂
Will your ceiling sweat without vapor barrier?
Their insulation is faced which is a built in vapor barrier
Faced insulation acts a vapor barrier so it should be good
Can you chaulk it?
I suspect it'll be like a rainstorm. I hope not. Looks great.
Wood stove pulls most of the moisture from the house so shouldn’t be an issue.
