Sounds like you've been bashed by some audiophiles that can't relax. Your videos overall have been super fun to watch, and are a nice change in mentality to how I play games like this. You're informational, don't blabber on about useless crap and you make it entertaining. Thanks dude!
At 15:45 the 4-way connection wouldn't matter because it's only a source tile and not a thoroughfare, so the tiny bit of momentary slowdown cannot cause congestion. You can have 8-way source tiles into a motorway and it actually won't be appreciably congested, it's only an issue when something is slowing down enough to slow down the car behind it from getting to its destination that it's a real problem, otherwise it's just like the slowed house was 1 tile further away from the destination, at most. (And remember, any car will start at 0 speed as it departs, so slowdown is a non-issue) In fact, the house immediately across from the bridge is causing a 4-way thoroughfare and it would be more efficient to redirect its exit one tile up, so that you'd have a 5-way source tile but no 4-way intersection. Would also be valid to redirect it to the right, where you'd only have a 2-source tile. A simple rule of thumb is that how much a 4-way intersection matters depends on how many houses' cars need to pass it. If it's just a source tile then at most it can affect the houses that are immediately connected, but if it's far down the line it'll potentially slow down dozens of cars. General stuff: After 10k, parking lot congestion gets so bad that basically every circle destination needs a roundabout (or a roundabout into a motorway), as tree branching is very likely to cause periodic congestion even if it's a single-destination road network. Up until 10k you can get away with tree branching, but the dangerous kind of congestion is always what's happening at the *first* junction from the destination, because that will translate to parking lot congestion and that's something you can't do anything about by panic-adding tributaries. If you have a roundabout to smooth out the congestion, then you can add tributaries via motorways whenever you need to panic.
10k seems so impossible after what happens when 3.5k hits. I would love to see a huge run like that, but I imagine it’s just lots of pausing and highway juggling haha
@@moozycarrots I've gotten around 9.1k on normal Manila, and got almost 11k on yesterday's daily challenge with the +3 motorways. It's honestly not that much jank - just some spawn blocking in the very beginning to make sure the starting setup is low-maintenance, letting me use all my motorways where they're needed in the late game.
Don't worry too much about people noticing stuff you don't (e.g. the highway-bridge-thing). It's fine not to notice everything and you are really skillful at the game so we can't complain whatsoever.
I was one of the Rio bridge guys! It was all in good fun, I would not have done it any better myself. Im glad if I hit 2k on any map. Hope it didn't feel like hate. Was just a backseat observation. I would hate to be someone who causes another person distress or anything so I hope the comments about the bridge did not impact you in any negative way.
Haha not at all! I feel bad if i sounded bitter about it in this! Its more that a HUGE amount of people commented on it and clearly i must have had a blind spot for a problem like that (more specifically a blind spot for not seeing if i could replace motorways with other solutions) so just like talking out everything else - THIS is something i need to remember to look for
These round about decisions being so close to the starting point make me think of slamming on the breaks before a serious crash... I would propose that you use them in situations to split the traffic between two destinations. The two yellow at the top with the big yellow community for example, or splitting between two colours. I also think that in general a lot of people don't plan ahead when deciding to place them which traps a lot of people. Placing them too close to the houses kinda reduces potential spawn locations. I unno, tell me what you think
At 20:10 you could have avoided the 4+ way intersection you were talking about by shifting the lower house driveway down and the upper middle house driveway left-down
I would watch a live stream if you started. great job as always. I see a lot of people recommending controlling the spawns, and while that certainly is how you get a high score... i find it a little disingenuous to the challenge of the game. i like seeing how you handle the randomness of the game and make adjustments on the fly.
I might need to look into live streaming at some point. I think itd be interesting to try out control spawns, but yeah. Since im still improving my scores without it this is seems like the more fun challenge
Sticking in roundabouts and fanning out roads, from house blocks also check controls spawning. Avoiding a dest appearing connected to a road or a bad site is just planning. The game doesn't allow demolishing houses when routes are needed so claiming space for future routes is skill not disingenuous.
Interesting use of roundabouts, but it seems like the space could be reserved with road. I couldn't see any real benefit. OTOH it is the dests which need the room to get traffic in smoothly.
If it is your speed you could definitely get a lot of play time out of it. I finished the game and got all the achievements and could declare it done there, but i have continued on and been able to beat a lot of my high scores. I think you can decide what challenges you want to give yourself will get you the most out of the game. Well worth its price though :)
i think you could've put highway 2 lower so more cars from the bottom lane can go up. from what i saw only 1 car could go at a time from the highway and the bottom lane?
Y'know, it's quite easy to get a decent estimate on how many trips you get from the title of the video. As an example if the title says 3500+ trips, it's fair a guess that you don't reach 4000 trips. The is absolutely nothing wrong with that but, as some who likes mischief, confusion, and technical truths, I'd say throw a curveball every now and again. You get a 6000 trip run? Make the title say 2500+. It's not a lie and it's fun to not know for sure where the run ends. Just my two cents and good work again!

Hello i have a question im thinking about to buy the game but woud you say that the game has "infinity" playtime with the daily challanges ?
