@@craigbowen4659 Here's the simple thing, Section 230 protects these private company-run internet forums (Facebook, Twitter, This very platform UA-cam, and others like Instagram, Reddit, Tumblr, etc.) from libel and slander lawsuits
on the basis of good faith they won't be biased and have heavy handed censorship, contrasting to a pundit/publisher like an online news site.
If they're acting heavily biased against one political side/ideology here with their 'rules and policies', government has the right to rescind the protection provided by this law (230) towards them. Now I do agree I don't like Micro Tasker's idea here, but yeah, stripping them of 230 protection will finally get them accountable to libel/slander lawsuits and so on for on-site content/treat them as a publisher, while the other ongoing option also against Google is antitrust operation, breaking up a large stifling monopoly on the market.

These platforms abused their special privileges, so it is time to take those unfairly given protections back and hold them accountable like any other business. Either they operate under the Constitution and provide the same rights to their users they themselves demand and rely upon to run, or they must be shut down for good! They are probably too scared because it would cement into writing how little they understand the technologies and how small a role government should have in this sector.
