  • This week we head to the heart of Scotland to visit Perth to visit a new £27 Million home for the stone of destiny, upon which the kings and queens og Scotland were crowned.
Safe to say it didn't go to plan.
There may also be a parkrun, a graveyard and some charity shops as well as some amazing buildings and, at the heart of the city, the silvery river Tay.
A huge thank you to everyone who's supported our wee channel so far, if you'd like to help support our wee adventures you can do it through through our Ko-Fi or Patreon.
All our videos are hand made from 100% organic ingredients ;). Our content is mostly filmed on a GoPro 11 with a Rode fluffy microphone to keep the wind noise down, with occasional bits on an iPhone13. We also use a DJI Mini 3 drone which we're loving getting to grips with.
We make our own music using GarageBand and the videos are edited in iMovie.
If you'd like to buy DeNiro a biscuit (and he's a good boy, honest) you can via our Ko-Fi link at www.ko-fi.com/ScotlandOnAShoes....
If you'd like to become a patron of our wee channel we also have a patreon at / scotlandonashoestring
We also have an Etsy shop where we sell some of our hand made items. It's at dandbbythesea.etsy.com

Another awesome video! That’s weird that the museum wouldn’t let anyone take pictures/video of the destiny stone. Oh well…. Google has an image. Hahaha!
Great finds at the charity shop.
DeNiro just being a dog, sniffing every blade of grass…checking out the p mail. 😊
No no, don’t pull any pieces of stone off the bridge.
Thanks again for sharing your adventures with us.

That was a fun episode, the cemetery was very interesting and did indeed have many amazing tombstones. Perth looks like a lovely city, we have its namesake here in Ontario. It has many beautiful limestone buildings which were built in the early part of the 19th century by Scottish stonemasons who had come to Canada years before to help build the Rideau Canal. Our town of Perth sits on the Tay as well.

The Fair Maids House is a medieval building that partly dates from 1475 and used to be part of the Blackfriars Monastery. It also served as inspiration for Sir Walter Scott's book of the same name. It has some very interesting history and looks like it would be worth a pass by the next time you're there. You must have walked right past it when you went to the spot with the plaque that mentioned the monastery. 🤣

Thanks for another great video! Btw I agree Euphemia is a very interesting name! Greek roots Eu (good) + phemia (speech/ language) = “a well spoken woman” 😎

We enjoyed Perth, too. The Black Watch Castle & Museum is interesting as well. I think you can take photos. ;) Loved the charity shop pieces. Let us know how the trashy books are. I think I’ve read one by JoJo Moyes…

At 29:13 I thought that little piece of sandstone would break off causing the entire bridge to crumple. Always liking a city tour. Is there a River Tay brand of ale?

That would make for an exciting episode but I think the locals may be a bit miffed :)

I doubt there’s a museum in the UK that doesn’t have something that the original owners may want back.

I'm with Bex on Starbucks. I'd much rather give my money to an independent cafe (or at least someone who pays tax properly 🫣)
Bless De Niro. You can alway tell when a pet sleeps in a ridiculous position that they're so very happy! Well done you two for making that happen 👏
