Omg this young Imam came to the Frisco masjid here in Texas and gave khutba a couple of weeks ago and it was honestly the best khutba I had heard in that masjid. The masjid had misspelled his name and that's why I couldn't find him. Jazakllahu khairan for having this talk and giving the Imam more awareness! Both of you make a powerhouse of a team btw.

Islamic schools lack funding because the communities don't realize the value of supporting an Islamic school.
Pretty much the same issues that the masjids have, Islamic schools have. Almost all of the issues. There are only a few who are genuine about diversity and inclusion of all cultures. People don't realize the value of supporting such institutions, there is a handful of people who are consistently supporting and of course those who support (some) feel like their voice is as important as their check book. This is why having proper leadership is extremely important.
The intention may be genuine, but resilience, organization, and operations absolutely have to be rock solid in order for success that will be pleasing to Allah swt. Just because it has a title of "Islamic" doesn't mean it's proper.

Mashallah Imam. This was a great conversation. To be quite truthful, personally as a Muslim from Muslim country, moving to non Muslim country and listening to you makes me feel so sad that I can't relate to that(university experience) , maybe that my expectation where I live (Australia, far from Muslims) were simple and I get hit by every other calamity but what a Muslim experiences in Muslim country.
Listening to other podcasts and khutba, you bring out the issues which I need to be mindful of living in non Muslim society, jazakallah. May Allah AJ be pleased with you.
