Amazing breakdown dude! That's how you do it. Most of the time I don't understand what's going on but appreciating the difficulty of this combo makes it a perfect analysis.
The up-back 5MP was discovered around S4, I believe, when Chun Li first got the HK Legs knockdown and was considered top tier. It’s very useful since you can use it to confirm a blockstring into a spaced Kikoken and be plus afterwards and in her ideal poke range. It’s tricky to do but very rewarding. Good catch on the crouching-only portion, that flew over my head when I first saw the combo, but leave it to Fujimura to attempt this at Topanga. :p
Guess what, it was discovered in season 1 ! At the time i struggled to do the challenge for Guile, where you had to jump-in fierce, stand fierce, sonic boom. Someone told me that jumping back would give the neutral Fierce, and then i learned that trick ! So yeah, the "jump back to get neutral attack while charging back" trick was in since the beginning of the game !
I remember chilling with Fujimura. He could screw up a combo, if you push it!!!! But yeah, the entire time he was doing combo after combo and asking for more combos. Well done and this is Fujimura. There's more to him. Check out his twitch
The back-up charge has been thing for way before Oro released. Chun doing 2LP, 5MP, 2MK>H Kikoken as a block string was discussed long ago. It's super good, yet very precise and the first time I've seen it at this level.
@@thomass3855 correct. The timing is very precise, since you have to press 7MP at the right moment then go back to 1 so you buffer the MP and not jump, and continue to 2MK. Or in Fujimura's case, hold 4 or 1 after 7MP to go into Kikoken.
As a low Diamond Chun Li player who has been doing BNB into Kikoken for a while (maybe like 1 year ago since I learned it and I can do it pretty consistently) , it took me 1 hour of attempts before I got this combo even one time. Doing CR LP -> ST MP into Kikoken, is MUCH HARDER than CR LP -> ST MP -> CR MK -> Kikoken. It is crazy that Fujimura was able to pull this out in a tournament. I also didn't realize that this particular combo only works on a crouching opponent. Also.. is Fujimura on hitbox or stick? He goes from DF to UF in one frame like when Daigo was talking about "perfect" flashkicks from crouch.
@@guilhermeberbert oh. so gross. Hitbox is really good. I get why they made the change. Feel like it makes a big difference especially for charge characters.
Charge characters technique stuff are hard to master, the theory explanation is important. Also, I still can't do USF4 Guile flash kick -> fadc forward -> Ultra 2
Fk with up back. So you charge down back. Go to up back with kick and you get flash kick. Fadc then go from up back to dashing forward and as you are dashing forward hit back and forward and ppp as you land. U2 will come out after dash
I have no clue how is he able to do two charged up moves so quick in succession. I mean, I can do ONE in the middle of a combo, but it's never enough charge for the second.
Combo isn’t that hard. Took me about 30 min. The neutral mp into ex works the same way as guile’s neutral st lk into ex boom. The harder part was doing the cr mk after the ex and then giving yourself enough charge time to link a hp fb. After that during the travel time of the hp fb you have exactly enough time to do lk ww
Btw I didn’t use the up back technique. I’m on stick and I couldn’t get it at all. Just got jump back mp the whole time. I just charged and went into neutral hit st mp into forward with lp hp and it comes out
I would like a FGC with a in-universe competition with gymnastics -like scores “The newcomer may have been KO, but it seems those innovative combos clinched the Silver!”
If it was just to maintain charge, she could do 6mp then fireball. The problem for Chun is that she has a 6mp command normal that doesn't cancel into specials :/
Okay, I'm really not trying to be disrespectful to anyone, but the st.Mp into ex kikosho is really not that hard. I immediately went into training to try this out, and it just feels like a regular charge, go to neutral, and then release forward situation. It's not that specific, and I did get it very consistently without even needing to jump cancel it, just normal motions. I don't mean to call you out, but I kinda find it hard to believe you weren't able to record the combo for this video. I'm not a dedicated player, much less a pro, and I can confidently say the st.Mp into ex kikosho is fairly straightforward. That is not to say that the overall combo is easy tho. You still have to immediately charge back, and then (modern) charge partition the kikosho into spinning bird kick. I actually find that quite challenging. And that's without mentioning this only works on crouching opponents, and maybe not on everyone. It was very impressive, and fujimora pulling it off on a real match just made it ten times more special. And just a final thought. I feel like the whole charge, go to neutral, release has been kinda trending because of oro and brian f and the other lab monsters figuring out how to loop this input. And it's important to make the distinction of looping the input vs just doing it once, which is the case for chunli. Loop = really damn hard, and not that consistent. Only once not so much.
He pulled a Desk, LOL.

A Desk combo is more like use 1 meter and somehow get 200 damage out of it.
oh hey I remember seeing that charge tech in a BrianF stream!
neat to see it applied elsewhere

Damn I really felt that in the end, not being able to do the cool combo you see lol
Fujimura always confirming crouching opponents in sfl last year, doing combos I didn’t even know was possible after cammy crmp. What a fucking robot
just goes to show how great Broski and BrianF are for pulling that tech quite consistently with their Oro fireball loop
My thoughts exactly. That Oro tech out here doing work, even for other characters.
Impressive combo. Thanks for the breakdown
So many techniques and timing within the one combo... it is so beautiful.

It also works as a confirm in the corner if you use stMP, CH stMP -> crHP also gets the combo going

Other thing, this tec UP+BACK+Med Punch, if I'm not wrong, Fujimura discovered in 2020. Chuchu teached (in portuguese) in his channel mutch time ago
this up back tech has been known for a very long time.

So instead of 2LP, 5MP it's 2LP 7MP? When I try I just get a jump.

hitbox, he switched during the pandemic. same as momochi, tokido, higuchi and now ryusei

I mained Guile in 4 and did that combo only once. I was a 4k player too lol

the up+back to maintain charge thing has actually been around since Street Fighter 4. Guile had some unique things he could do with it.
If it was just to maintain charge, she could do 6mp then fireball. The problem for Chun is that she has a 6mp command normal that doesn't cancel into specials :/
Would be easier with 3rd Strike charge partitioning.
