Amen to the part that kids “missing” out. Not a single of my kids ever say I NEED PRISMATIC or else I dont want it. Its for sure adults missing out using “kids” as a an excuse to start ranting online😂😂
While I understand your point in the first part before moving on to sword and shield, I think you’re being purposely facetious about this. Obviously you’re gonna be able to find stuff like paradox rift, temporal etc (sometimes). You seem to be basically telling people to just be happy with whatever scraps you can find no matter the quantity. Just because little Timmy is happy with the random cards doesn’t mean everyone else needs to be. 151 and paldean fates are my fav sets and I can’t find them ANYWHERE. While the prices for these sets is insane, it’s not always about the price, it’s the principle. Some people can be overly dramatic yes, but it’s 100% valid to be upset about not being able to even find these sets anywhere but for 3x the price at a card shop/eBay/etc or yours and others rip n ship streams. Basically telling people to get over it and be happy with what you can find is lame. I watch rip n ship streams sometimes and yes it’s fun to cheer on people who bought the packs, but that’s not the only community.
ETB’s of Paldean Fates were available for over 8 months on Targets website for $37.99 until 2 and a half months ago. No one wanted them until there was hype around them. 151, regularly available at MSRP and below for a significant amount of time. A lot of people didn’t seem to want these items until everyone wanted them. I myself continued to buy Paldean Fates ETB’s from Target for over 6 months at $37.99 and never had an issue with over MSRP prices until just recently. This is the nature of a consumable product. Once they stopped getting made, or sit on the market long enough, over time scarcity is going to kick in.
I agree my kids cant get prismatic or 151 or anything. theres a huge problem here in california my LCS is all out as well. they jus have decks and loose packs. its real lets be honest. ive with you brother god bless. us normal people cant get product. just folks with big buissness
Your problem is something that most children learn to cope with by the age of 10. You got to suck it up sometimes man. You can't always get what you want.
@@KevinCostner471I love that Alex perfectly predicted people like you commenting. Can't get anything so all you can do is get online and share in the negativity.
So you're discrediting the fact that it is still a problem. Cause let's take this into account, before rip & ship was a thing, didn't we all go to our LGS's Walmart, target etc to get cards I did. I started collecting in 2016 and was fine getting stuff until COVID. It cooled down a little after COVID but then came rip and ships saturating the market. Point is there are a lot more people trying to make money off the hobby and not much stock to satisfy everyone. So of course some people who can't get products will be upset because they actually want it. You don't have that issue because you may have more information/opportunity than others.
A scalper purpose is to buy product for the sole purpose of resale. Rip and ship get all the benefit of opening the packs which is the best part of being Pokémon card collector. They get the profit of creating content of the opening of packs and they sell the packs for above market price. I’m just throwing rocks and if they hit someone I apologize. I buy product to open them for my collection. Never as in investment to hold onto and sell later. Simply for the love of the cards. Again, apologize for any disrespect.
@Dream_TDK I think my point was more along the lines of the hobby being saturated and everyone now wanting to be an investor hording large amounts of products. In my opinion if you have more than 2 cases of sealed product you are part of the problem. I only collect 3 booster boxes per set. Keep two sealed and one to open. And for specialty sets I just get two ETB's and open regular products for packs. Again there are just too many people with a lot of disposable income in the hobby. Am sure if the hobby were to ever lose its value watch all of them dump their inventory. Never played the card game but I do like to collect the cards.
Honestly, the real idiots are the people who pay to participate in rip and ships. Like why are you paying extra for someone to open your packs FOR YOU?? Isn’t the fun in opening them yourself? lol
@CandyNecklace88 that's an easy question. People want to open packs on demand, they will pay a premium to avoid delaying their gratification. It's a treat, just like everything under consumerism

I'll be honest, based on my real life experiences, things are very negative out there. Every time I talk to people who work at retail stores, I just hear negative stories about Pokemon, whether it's scalpers, customers being aggressive etc.
I haven’t seen a product in stores in weeks but I guess this dudes cousin did so maybe I’m just blind! Half this video felt like you trying to get down to the level of the average collector. Did not work.
Yeah the grocery store has single packs at the checkout for like $5 + tax. That is because parents aren't typically buying their kid a 36 pack booster box. These are the kinda products they would buy which to the hobbyist is always expensive. 5 x 36 = $180, but it is more than 5 cause of the tax so it is basically the same price per pack as a $200 booster box. But hobbyist isn't used to paying that. But when you talk "investing" you are having a whole other conversation and 5 a pack is quite different in those terms.
Some of us(an itsy bitsy teeny tiny minority)are just upset that collecting pokemon products is 99% an online only hobby at this point, i myself dont enjoy that TANGIBLE collectibles dominantly exist only on online platforms in the sims world! I thought thats what pokemon tcg pocket was for? Arent those cards for sims players?🤔
I took my 6-year-old to a Pokemon card show for the first time today and he was so psyched about how many cool cards he could get for $1-3, and we got some Paldea Evolved for $5 per pack and Paradox Rift for $3.75 a pack. I went in not knowing what to expect, and I was nervous that we wouldn't be able to find any sealed product around $5/pack, but there was plenty of reasonably-priced stuff and my son didn't care at all that we were getting Paldea Evolved and Paradox Rift packs and not Prismatic Evolutions. (He did ask me if we could buy a Moonbreon at every single vendor table, though 🤣).
I think the biggest problem I see is people going to target or walmart and clearing the shelf of 30 prismatic etb lol. Like bro grow up and show some class. Grab a couple and let others get some. I dont even buy in person so it does not even affect me, but posting about clearing the entire shelf is not something to be proud of
I’ve found AMAZING deals on etb’s from older sets from Amazon and Walmart thanks to everyone being so distracted by the shiny new toy, they forget about the rest of the toy box lol
I agree. Tired of people whining about their damn kids. If you want your kids to get the new product...get there before me...or buy some Pikemon Go packs from me or $5. Walmart and Target are my distributors.
A 5 year old is completely different from a 12 year old that wants the new sets. 5:01 😂 most kids are aware and have access to UA-cam channels that promote and open new sets and what do you think the kids want to do???
Saddly here in quebec Canada some of the price are high, booster for twilight is 10 CAD, triple pack of stellar crown are 20 CAD. Price of pokemon box are ajusted depending on the booster that are inside. There is just no "deal" per pack. We do have some good price on certain product but you really need to compare store to store to have the best price possible. I know that we are in hype mod right now, but i do miss the time when i was going to my LGS buy what i wanna buy without thinking about price per pack.
Good content, but you're making a bit of a counter argument to the conversation around CT scanning and why it doesn't matter. Ie. People aren't looking for "value" opening a booster box chasing specific cards, they will always be negative EV. It's possible when these Alt Vmax pulls are 1/1000 packs that box prices don't correlate perfectly because if you have to open $10,000 of product to "maybe" pull that chase, and "maybe" have it grade PSA 10, some people will just opt to buy the cards instead of "chasing" them in packs.
I cant find anything at the store. Havent been able to get my hands on last 3 sets. I even stood outside gamestop at drop. Nothing. Its ridiculous. This dude is full of bull.
Everyone mainly complains because their mommy used to buy the cards now they have too, if you cannot afford them then work harder or lower your standards
Must say in Europ it is expensive for some produktes but there are little opportunitys for singels i finde the Pokeball Eeveelutions are way to cheap for how rare they are.
Alex just likes to justify rip n shipping because he clearly makes enough money to keep doing it. He never brings up that rip n ship just harkens the problem and reinforces product prices rising when him and others buyout from scalpers to supply his stream. If he payed way under market for buying in bulk like he did recently for prismatic, there’s no way he’s passing that saving on to his subscriber and members. He’s making his money just like any other scalper it’s just this glorified rip n ship format that’s taken off and really hurt the hobby overall with tightening supply that can get into the hands of people who really want it and to not resell it on the secondary market or on a rip and ship.
Living in a rural area but not too rural is definitely a plus for me. I did go to GameStop today and they literally had 1 charizard figurine set and that was it! Weeks ago they had cases of worth of all sorts of etbs. The hobby is hot as hell and haven’t seen Pokemon keep up with demand yet
So get what you don't need to open. What if I have a limited amount of money and pulled all I need in the past 2 blocks. I have bought all the singles in Japanese if I didn't pull on English. I need new sets but can't get unless I save up to get on ebay. I even bought Chinese and Korean s/s alt arts cuz only thing I don't have. Just wasting my funds nowadays. I pulled a evolutions god pack in Japanese so really don't care about prismatic can't get anyways. Battle partners pre order still waiting for. Pre order Journey together game stop all I could. I guess I don't really need anything or deserve i guess now im getting greedy?
Dude really? These videos are just insulting people’s intelligence at this point. If people wanna go on a stream and pay 20 a pack for prismatic, great have at it. If casual fans want to jump on amazon and get SV base when everyone else has caught up and opened enough packs, amazing happy for them. Everyone else wants the hot sets sparks, 151, prismatic, festival, journey etc. you know that so please cut it out. This new normal isn’t okay and needs to change period dude. Cut it out already.
Terrible take. So because you watched a few streamers and checked the comments, you think the hobby is in a positive place right now? Lmao. You know those viewers are bias towards the streamers they watch right? & just because you can order scarlet and violet base on amazon doesnt mean product is readily available. Lmao The overall sentiment in pokemon is negative for the majority of people in the hobby who dont have distribution access and it doesnt take a genius to figure out why.
You’re spot on!! Kids don’t care. I got back into the hobby & collecting again when Evolutions came out and started to invest when Unbroken Bonds came out.
Agree with your assessment! I’m a collector/investor and the fever pitch has me addicted to looking for deals. Suffice to say, I haven’t had any issues whatsoever finding sealed products to buy for ripping or investing. I actually need to cut back bc my wallet is in deep pain! People need to stop focusing on the products that are scarce.
All I see over socials is negativity which is so frustrating. I'm seeing people crying because their 5 year old son can't open Prismatic. As if they even have a clue what prismatic is lmao. Get them some temporal and let em have a blast... edit: lmao just got further in the vid and you said this exact same thing. Its so true! Kids literally dont care they just want to open things
Hahahaha I've been calling people out on Reddit and occasionally on here essentially for similar to what you said. Jealousy is fueling people's frustration with the hobby, not the actual market chaos. People just want everything they want regardless of what is going on around them. When they don't get it, they lash out.
I think a solid strategy for buying Pokémon products is to wait about three months after a new release to let the hype settle. This way, I can snag sealed products or packs at lower prices, especially for undervalued sets like 'Shrouded Fable.'
ATTENTION ALL CRY BABIES AND UNGRATEFUL WATCHERS… he’s giving people his opinion and insights. For free. If you don’t appreciate his content, don’t watch it. Pretty simple. And I’ve watched him for about two years and he’s been spot on across the board just about all the time. I have kicked a $ $ using his insights and my collection / investments have been 🔥🔥📈📈

People just love to hate on something. Its a vocal minority though. Keep it 100 brother 👌
Your taxes also make buying anything unrealistic
So true. It’s easy to get packs always has been lol they even have them in news agents. Getting prismatic has been the only difficult set to obtain
Saying Amazon just put all these LGS out of business 😂
Good content, but you're making a bit of a counter argument to the conversation around CT scanning and why it doesn't matter. Ie. People aren't looking for "value" opening a booster box chasing specific cards, they will always be negative EV. It's possible when these Alt Vmax pulls are 1/1000 packs that box prices don't correlate perfectly because if you have to open $10,000 of product to "maybe" pull that chase, and "maybe" have it grade PSA 10, some people will just opt to buy the cards instead of "chasing" them in packs.
Negativity gets views. They do it for the attention more than because they're actually negative.
misery does indeed enjoy company
“1 button click” sent me 😂
Facts Alex 🙌it’s not all bad
I remember being mad when they didn't carry fossil back in the day or it was sold out
I cant find anything at the store. Havent been able to get my hands on last 3 sets. I even stood outside gamestop at drop. Nothing. Its ridiculous. This dude is full of bull.
Everyone mainly complains because their mommy used to buy the cards now they have too, if you cannot afford them then work harder or lower your standards
No ones a bigger timmy than me but dang this market is getting crazy going back to digimon
Of course you can get the other sets cheap but that doesn’t generate clicks which is why channels harp on it
Most of the channels i watch say "just wait, prices probably come down" or "this set wasn't interesting anyway".
I agree 💯 with you nomics ❤ I'm broke but imma wait bc I can lol I trust your word you spit the truth
Bro any time I buy packs from the Rip and Ship a hit is never a guaranteed.
Cuz buying shrouded fable😅😅
I just hate all the ads on every platform
It’s fun, wish singles was a bit cheaper though
SIR Garchomp ex from pardox rift was a buyout seen it live
Terrible take. So because you watched a few streamers and checked the comments,
you think the hobby is in a positive place right now? Lmao. You know those viewers are bias towards the streamers they watch right? & just because you can order scarlet and violet base on amazon doesnt mean product is readily available. Lmao
The overall sentiment in pokemon is negative for the majority of people in the hobby who dont have distribution access and it doesnt take a genius to figure out why.
Good analysis. Thanks
You’re spot on!! Kids don’t care. I got back into the hobby & collecting again when Evolutions came out and started to invest when Unbroken Bonds came out.
People just always want what they don't have. They never look at what they do have and can afford and are happy about it.
the pokemon company is definately to blame and the scalpers. overall the hobby is being overun by GREED AND MONEY
Ur wrong man. The Mankids are all upset
Pokemon is amazing let’s go people!!
I’m thinking of just backing away from the market for a bit and putting $ into BTC till this mouth breathing market turns around.
I like it being rare to find packs and pulls personally. I hate mass printed sets
Its only rare to find them because someone walked in before and bought most of the popular sets
Evil investors assemble!!!
Absolutely asinine take
Well said
Lol you definitely got this idea from last night at the end of your stream. I was watching it live when the guy opened the 50 packs of p.e.
The shirt > 😂
99% because its not our money lmao 🤣
Good vid
Buy shrouded fable
Hahahaha I've been calling people out on Reddit and occasionally on here essentially for similar to what you said. Jealousy is fueling people's frustration with the hobby, not the actual market chaos. People just want everything they want regardless of what is going on around them. When they don't get it, they lash out.
So well said
Almost like…children? 🤔
@rocklee7634 yes! Like children.... We should never wish hell on people acting like children... we should help them grow up
I think a solid strategy for buying Pokémon products is to wait about three months after a new release to let the hype settle. This way, I can snag sealed products or packs at lower prices, especially for undervalued sets like 'Shrouded Fable.'
Terrible strategy since TM
ATTENTION ALL CRY BABIES AND UNGRATEFUL WATCHERS… he’s giving people his opinion and insights. For free. If you don’t appreciate his content, don’t watch it. Pretty simple. And I’ve watched him for about two years and he’s been spot on across the board just about all the time. I have kicked a $ $ using his insights and my collection / investments have been 🔥🔥📈📈
