I purchased this reel about 6 months ago. At first i was iffy because of the price but like always “you get what you pay for” I decided to go for it and man oh man oh man! This reel is nothing short of amazing. Definitely recommend this reel to anyone!
Wish they made it in lefty 😭. Waiting for the 35JHL to come, if it ever does. I ended up going with a maxel rage 60HL to get a reel in that rough size class in lefty but really love Daiwa stuff in general.
How’s the drag on these compared to the dual drags of the Accurate? I’ve had some good fights on my accurate with 80# line. That dual drag system is smooth for the big tuna runs.
@@karlkobler218thank you for your feedback. I wasn’t speaking of the valiant line, but that’s good to know about it. I was asking about the drag feel. The double drag disc, one on each side of the spool. Makes for a super super smooth drag with absolutely no bind up or jerking of the reel when line is getting spooled against the drag.
@@patrickkelly8095 The Saltiga is crazy smooth too. IMO that was revolutionary when Accurate came out with the dual drag, but technology has caught up and I havnt noticed a difference between the Accurates, Okuma Alijos and Saltiga in terms of drag.
Robert, I fish both of them and can honestly tell they are both great reels. Call the shop today and I will give you a run down of both. 954-889-4915... ask for me by name Johnny
I’m selling my Accurate’s, including my BV-300c for Saltiga’s. The Valiants have a history of not holding up to heavy drag, and no dogs. The Saltiga is a freaking tank, my favorite reel I’ve ever held!
Agreed. It's a great reel. When the 35JH came out it was a bit pricey. But since other makers are raising their MSRP, this reel is now priced very competitively against them.
I was definitely eying the left handed ocea jigger. This is sweet too! I have a valiant 300 but I use it for wreck fishing mostly. Tog, cod… if this comes left handed should I get it over the ocea? I don’t usually fish super deep. At most 225ft for now
So I’m tossed up between a accurate or that reel. But why have a single speed reel instead of a two speed reel? Is there a benefit? I need a left handed one but don’t know what to get, Mainly fish from 150 -400 but soon going out deeper? Any info helps but I’ll be calling ya soon also. Love the channel and jigs
Definitely call the shop. I only use a two speed when going for large tunas. I prefer the single speed for cutting weight and fewer parts to break. Unfortunately, the Daiwa 35jh doesn't come in righty, but the Valient does.
Qhats up johnny jigs. How you doing brotha hope all us well. Hey man I wanted to ask you what you think about the saltiga 35 or the 600N out here in the pacific in between San Diego and long Beach. Slow pitch live bait rockfishing kinda off all around daytime reel? I know there both awesome
Nice reel, I think it's a very nice but it's not for everyone...expensive!!! I'm a new subscribers guys, really enjoying the all yours videos. I'm from England and I'm fishing for codling, ling ,pollock and I use penn reel and ugly stik rod 😊😂, I hope sometimes I purchase a nice rod and reel to enjoy the fishing. Really nice videos...oll the best for you guys!
you haven't had any problems with the drag preset backing off as you go from strike to freespool over and over again? i know a few buddys with the 55's 2 speed who have experienced this problem
I have a 55 as well. I haven't seen that issue yet but I will keep an eye on it. By any chance, did they happen to say how they were using it, what were they doing? I've only used mine for reef fishing AJ's, Gags and ARS in 250 feet or less.
@@77jaycube69 they were using it for vertical speed jigging for bluefin at night lots of going from strike to freespool. my friend set his drag 30lb at strike and when he did hook a fish that night after jigging for awhile it was obvious that the drag had backed of significantly and had to adjust on the fly. we tested after, he set the drag 30lb. put it from freespool to strike 20 times then measured it again and it was like 15 lbs.
@@JohnnyJigsTV I’ll be honest. As a guy growing up on spinning gear, I refuse to retrain myself on reeling with my right hand. Being available as lefty is #1 requirement for me when buying a conventional reel. If it doesn’t I won’t even consider it.
I am concerned, Daiwa doesn't offer left handed jigging reels in most cases. There is a HUGE gap there really. Why? Actually people reel most of time with right hand?
This reel slays. I’ve had one paired with my power 3 palmarius and it’s nasty. But friends all want to laugh pointing at how light that tackle combo looks until they see me pulling up huge mutton and groupers in from 200-400 foot. I’ve even brought up nurse sharks over 12 feet long and a concrete block from 250+. Don’t even know how that happens but this reel winches that thing up.

Im a lefty and i hate how there’s no ocea jigger in 3000 or 4000 Lefty. Seems backwards to me.
This reel don't have clicker for drag sound when big fish strikes?thanks
That is correct, no clicker.
I'm looking to switch from Accurate to Shimano or Daiwa for slow pitch because I've had nothing but problems with my 500N.
What kind of problems you encountered.
I just got one
How’s the drag on these compared to the dual drags of the Accurate? I’ve had some good fights on my accurate with 80# line. That dual drag system is smooth for the big tuna runs.
Better than Accurate. The Valiants are a light framed reel, they’re not known to hold up with heavy drag with big tuna. Saltiga’s are.

I love that these reels have are capable of such high drag amounts but what can you do with it if your using 30 or 40 pound line?
@johnnyjigstv can you adjust the drag on the fly with this tell, like while in the strike position?
Hi James, Yes, you can
Use 35JH for big tuna, big wahoo, big kingfish, with 40,50LB braid line. i like use it for running fish like wahoo, big kingfish.
Is the LD series only came out with right hand retrieve no left?
How does this compare to the accurate 500n? In the market for and torn between these two

hello good evening but does this reel exist on the left? is there a price difference?
I love daiwa and especially the top of the line saltiga series. Spinning and baitcasters, however the accurate BV300c is incredible
Agreed
I love the drag on my accurate’s.

Does it have a wind liner ?
Hi (:
Will you recommend the saltiga better then the ocea jigger?
I’m curious also. Did you find a solution ?
Accurate valiant over everything. 500n & 600nn all day
do you think for maxel transformer F50CH?
I love it. It's a well put together reel. We call them OMX here in the states
Awesome video Johnny wish you would have gave us a price
Can these equipments work on the west coast fishing big blue fin tuna? 100+ Lb species
Not to mention there's the 5 Year Warranty Service available on the Saltiga (including their Lever Drags) 🙌
Exactly...White glove warranty service all the way..
do you service reels as well?@@JohnnyJigsTV

Johnny I know you used a 500n spj for a long time what do you prefer?
I have the 500n 2 speed with slow pitch knob and in my opinion beats everything but the 500n has to be in 2 speed to get the best of both worlds
It’s a beautiful reel, I wish I could afford one!
So…can we start trading in our Accurates for these?
But does it come in lefty??
Unfortunately no...We have been talking to Daiwa about that 😕
But how come a Reel manufacturer like Daiwa cater only for one type of people while it's a hard truth that you have so much lefty users now?
