Flash Patterns, multiple sirens, is it possible individuals working in fleet operations have a sensory processing disorder where the time and effort to perform all these product features have absolutely no measurable effect on the motoring public. I hear many opinions in this nice presentation, are you (the customer) overcomplicating simple concepts... Are all the lights causing more issues for motorists?
Great questions. Less can be more. We have another video discussing intersection clearing and how motorcycle officers with little lighting in real time, can still get the job done. In terms of flash patterns, big bold blocks of lights where multiple light heads are working in unison to make more light output is proven to grab more attention from a distance. Moreover, most manufacturers have low power options. NJSP for example, utilizes this nice feature so they are not blinding motorists and causing an unsafe traffic condition at night. With motorists being poor drivers, distracted by everything but the task of driving, it is important to utilize as much proven science as possible in the world of optics and sound to make sure responders are seen and safe. 👍
It's good to see some people understand less is more. I see so many upditters program in just insane amounts of flashtastic nonsense in our cruisers...and then get angry when I go in after delivery and change it. It blows my mind when they tell us, the end users, what does and does not work...😂
Because they never had actual first responder experience running calls. Nor do they care to go out with these departments they serve and examine real life responses like we do. Departments waste sooooo much money trying to improve visibility with more lights when you can gain the same level of visibility if not more with the right pattern/light head placement. It may not look cool but where not here to be whack jobs. We are here to keep everyone safe. 👍
Nice video. If only more people understood the concept of the big blocks of light as well as limiting the chaotic patterns for intersection/high priority use only
Thank you! That's why we are making videos to teach other upfitters and departments on choosing the best options for their fleet! Stick around for more response science and breakdowns!
Whelen and other companies have come along way with their programming and overall lighting solutions. I love the outfitting part of emergency vehicles and what you can do now days with digital systems such as the Whelen Carbide
Yea digital systems are my favorite. It's a headache sometimes diagnosing glitches and such but once you get the system down it's WAY better. The customization is almost endless. Regular analog mechanical systems is nice for longevity and simplicity if your dept. Doesn't have a big budget but if you can afford the digital stuff its a real luxury.

Are you a officer?
Not quite. I'm the guy the officers seek to get the police Equipment put on their cars. They don't come from factory with the lights and sirens.
Oh nice
