Along with adding chicken wire to the opening, maybe black or brown antique wax to tone down the bright red just a little. That way, it would match the age of the fabric better. It's still beautiful and I love it! ❤
I agree!! And you would still see the cute flower fabric! I personally do not decorate in red-white-blue….I used to back in the day…the 80’s? But it looks tired to me. But LOVE all the items you painted red…it’s a fun color!😂and that daisy painting is gorgeous!!
That daisy painting in the gold frame was stellar! I can see why it only lasted a day. Then your red wool Anthropologie rouched jacket looked darling on you! SCORE!!
You look really cute in all your outfits. The skirt could be used to make pillow covers but if it has to be dry cleaned might not be worth it. Dry cleaning has skyrocketed. Enjoyed video.❤. My favorite was the orange pot. I also love fall.
I love looking for clothes for my kids at goodwill and the bins, they grow so fast and hardly wear half the clothes you buy them! Then I take stuff they outgrow to kids consignment stores to get some cash back
Try Woolite dry cleaner sheets for your dryer on that jacket, Cory ! ( I got Dryel brand last time... ) I use them to freshen table linens and runnners, holiday pillows, and regular clothes that may just need to be freshened, and the occasional dry cleanable item. Sometimes, on just one item, I cut them in half and clip the leftover piece back in the package for next time ! By the way, I am so over Joanna Gains .... but like you, i loved some of her old stuff !!! ❤❤❤
I absolutely love everything you pick and generally like what you do with it. I love how you share all the information on how-to's and why's and how you would price things. I think you are very reasonable. Thank you so much! I enjoy your show! ❤
I had a stair basket for about 20 years while my kids were growing up and loved it for tossing small items in that went upstairs. Much better than being loose on the stairs or going up and down so much! Sometimes one of the kids would get the chore of emptying the basket 😆
Yes! I’ve been learning from you tuber/thrifter Laura Caldwell, how to up my game in making vignettes. So I have 5 or 6 tables/piano top etc that I change out seasonally. Just gathered all my assorted red white & blue items, styled them up and will have them up till the end of July at least. including two small patriotic quilts I’ve made previously. 😊 Love love love changing things up, using my lifetime of collectibles (and newer thrifted items) to try to be as artistic as Laura Caldwell ! Have you watched her channel and resale First Friday sales?
Hi Cory loved the fashion show . The coat looks expensive so worth the dry clean. Some nice finds this week. Love the little cabinet and the colour. Thanks for sharing and look forward to catching you next time. Xx😊😊
I don't decorate for summer but I love watching your process. I have always been a thrift store shopper and you find such great finds ! Love that you model your clothes.
I usually decorate my front porch and patio with red, white and blue. I found a large standing patriotic sign on clearance last year that I get to display this year! 🎆🧨🇺🇸
Some fab finds today and the clothing you picked up is great. My fave is the brown bobbly jumper/sweater. It looks really good on you. I only decorate for Christmas mostly. A little for Halloween and even less for Easter. I never decorate seasonally. Plus, here in Queensland Aus, the seasons don't change drastically. Where I am, there's no snow, not even very cold at all, no fall colours on the trees. I have winter coats and scarves that never see the light of day🌞🌞🌞
*The stair basket is FABULOUS...I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR ONE FOR YEARS‼️💯😖 I also loved that original beautiful sunflower painting in the gold frame; I DEFINITELY would have bought that‼️ No wonder it was snatched up from your booth so quickly❣️👌👍🏼👌💜💕💜🌺🍃*
The red/orange and navy blue shirt looked AMAZING on you girl and I also loved the brown sweater with the pom poms! You're beautiful in anything you wear actually...
Your so funny! Tommy Boy is one of my favorite movies. You made me laugh 😂! But you got a great haul. Clothes look good on you as well. All your diys turned out very nice. Thanks for making me laugh ❤️🤗
Cory I absolutely love your treasures!!! I don’t decorate with red but lots of people do 😊. Always love your ideas and omg your fashion show was awesome ❤❤❤
The clothes you found are great! Maybe you can do something else with that checkered skirt? Use it for summer holiday decor somehow. You’d have to cut it up obviously 🙂
Love your haul! I only ever buy second hand, especially clothes. I’m very frugal; have to save as much as I can on myself so I can buy my cat his favorites which are very expensive.
I love all the things you picked up at goodwill my favourite was the flower painting also the little cabinet you painted red . The only season I decorate for is Christmas my decor stays the same the rest of the year
Love all these great finds and up dos. The clothing items you got look so good on you. I am a big lover of the rust/copper colors. You did get a great coat. I do not decorate for summer, I really don’t decorate for any season per say other than a season related wreath or front door decoration of some kind. I do like my flowers in the summer. I just don’t have the gift of decorating. But, I absolutely love to see other people’s decor and creations. Now, my daughter on the other hand is very good at decorating, she sure didn’t get it from me. I’ll just keep watching your amazing work.
I have only ever decorated for Christmas and Easter, with summer flower bouguets thrown into the mix, but your very cute red, white, and blue pieces are inspiring me to branch out! Love all your pieces, and you looked great in all those beautiful clothes!
I decorate for summer by putting a large pink vining geranium in a moss covered pot on my coffee table. Under the stems I place a couple vintage birds. It covers most of my coffee table and looks really nice. I’ve never decorated with red, white and blue. The Boy Scouts in my area put large flags in front of our houses that stick in the ground. It cost $25 a year and they do it for 5 or 6 holidays. It’s really nice. I would have kept the picture. It would look so sweet on a book shelf. You got some really good finds while thrift shopping. The little cabinet is wonderful. Love your clothes purchases. They look nice on you. Take care.
Great finds. I love what you did with it all. I decorate for spring, and transition my regular every day decor in the summer. I live in FL, but have a farmhouse vibe in my decor. I decorate with what I like.
If I were still living in our home we sold, I would definitely be decorating red, white, and blue this summer. Living with our daughter while our home is slowly being built, so will be the summers after we get to move in.
For the door of the little cupboard you painted red you could find picture with glass in it. That is the same size as the door and use the glass from the frame in the door. You have a frame to use for a project where you don’t need the glass.
@13:34 You look amazing and how you styled the sweater with those white pants look great on you. I found your channel searching thrift finds and your channel showed in the feed. I'm from Alabama and enjoyed watching. Take care ❤❤❤
You really scored with everything! The clothes look fantastic. Keep working out and tone your arms and I bet those sleeves won’t feel as tight. It’s amazing how our bodies transform. Earthbreeze is so great. I’ve been using it for awhile now. So glad I’m not buying big plastic jugs anymore. Love your channel! Your tips are great! 🦋
So inspirational.. thank you for sharing all your wonderful ideas. I personally do not decorate for summer in red, white & blue. I prefer my home to be light and airy, this year I went with a lavender inspired theme. I loved what you did with all the items in this video. I do love the rustic farmhouse look❤️
Great finds, inciteful tips, design inspiration and humor - today's episode was just what I needed on this gray, rainy day, Cory! I'll be trying red paint on 2 brown-varnished, wooden corner shelves from the 30's that I rescued 25+ years ago. Without seeing your cabinet makeover, I wouldn't have considered it . 😊 Can you please share the name of the shade you used? It would be perfect for the room in whichI plan to hang them. Your clothing scores were amazing, too! For the items that didn't quite fit... HINT 1: To fix he blue striped shirt that was tight in the arms, make it sleeveless! I'm writing this assuming that you don't sew. Apologies if it's too remedial! Turn the shirt inside-out and go around the arm holes with a seam ripper to remove the stitches. Set sleeves aside for another project. (Basket liner? Napkins? Fabric bows?) If you sew/have a sewing machine, fold the arm hole seam allowance on the shirt towards the inside 1/4" and iron, then fold again and iron. This keeps the raw edge inside so it won't fray. Top stitch new "hem" around the arm hole, and again 1/4" out from those stitches. (Like the double line of stitching on the outer seams of jean legs.) HINT 1a: If you don't sew, here's a no-sew alternative! Yay! Remove the sleeves, press the raw edge under like above. Put 1/4" (or smaller width) strip of heat-fusible bonding tape (many brands are available in the sewing section of craft stores) into the folded "hem" around the arm hole. Follow package directions for ironing over the seam to fuse the fabric in place. All done! Now you have a fresh, summery sleeveless collared shirt! (NOTE: I don't recommend using fabric glue here. IMHO it can be too lumpy/ uneven in such a visible area of a lightweight shirt.) HINT 2: Your gorgeous blue/white wool pleated skirt will most likely fit you by/before late Fall! ❤🤞 It's AFTER Thanksgiving through January where the trouble lies, right? It looked like a well made, high end piece. There's usually extra fabric along the seams of quality clothing to allow for tailoring. I thrift all of my clothes. For special items like yours that don't fit me, I've found that local, independent seamstresses/tailors can take one look and tell me if something can be let out, and whether doing so will affect the lines of the item. I'm retired, so no $$ to burn here, but I've found their fees to be reasonable. Especially when the cost of a thrifted item is so low. Multiple trips to the dry cleaners is where the $$$ really adds up! HINT 2a: I agree 100% with a previous post - Dryel or other home dry cleaning kits save BIG MONEY on maintaining wool items, and work very well! Don't use them on items with leather buttons or trim, though. Use some of the money you'll save on dry cleaning to pay for any alterations you need. Win -Win! My final question: Can you please share the total cost of this haul, and those in the future? I would have bought exactly the same items you chose in this video, were they available here. A Goodwill Bins finally opened somewhat near me this year, and I'm trying to figure out whether a 90 minute round-trip drive would be worth it. Yes, there are other thrift stores on the way if the Bins are a bust. 😁 Thanks, and keep up the great work!
Careful with that glass candle holder thing. In the video the glass looks like it has a hairline crack starting at the top. Maybe 3 inches long? I saw it earlier when outside showing it and again when your waxing the piece 26:52 I LOVE the orange pot! That is so amazing and will be beautiful styled with greenery. ❤
You really scored some nice clothing pieces! I love the brownish/rust sweater with the little pom poms! Fall is my favorite time of year too, i love wearing cozy clothes! The leopard print one & the chico brand one is super cute too. Honestly I like all the tops & They all look really nice on you😊 I love that coat, its so nice! The little pumpkin dress is adorable😊 I see lots of people shopping on Thread Up, i really need to ck it out. The daisy painting & frame was so pretty! I love the cabinet..i just have a love for anything old & made of wood! Chicken wire would look so good in the door, really make it look rustic! I have one that's a little taller but more narrow, with 2 little doors and it has the small chicken wire in them. Super cute! The hobby lobby piece is gorgeous! A flickering candle would be beautiful in it❤ The frame turned out nice! Of course I love the copper pot and the wire piece with 3 baskets! I always enjoy your videos, and love watching your diy's😊
Thank you so much! I love hearing from you. Great ideas. I have another little cabinet that sounds like what you are describing! I'm so glad you liked my haul
Well thank you! That's so sweet😊 Lol I'm an old chatty box for sure.. but i just really enjoy your videos! The shopping, the hauls, the diy's, the styling and some laughs too! Even A little modeling! You give it all and that's So cool! 😊
Cory!!! What a score 👏 my absolute favorite and never before seen item is that stair basket! I can’t tell you how much I coulda used it when we lived in our house! Also, what a gorgeous metal pumpkin! Thrift on! ☺️ Ps, I absolutely love that shade of red. Ginger Chick Rehab uses a milk paint in the color, wagon wheel, and I just love it, a vintage, or primal red ☺️
Hey Corry, way to go ,on all your shopping adventures. I too love the fall. Even though we have alot of evergreen trees, we do have the fall leaves colors. My niece Heather, works at Anthro. store up here in Seattle. (shout out) When we moved everyone of the boxes had the store on them... It was funny. You are so right about, getting away from plastic. Reusing, donating and buying second hand is the smart thing to do!!
Great ideas. Yes I do decorate for summer and holidays. It makes me happy. I just went thrifting❤ to add to that colection. I would have bought several items in your booth.
Love the clothes you found, gorgeous! If you have Basic sewing skills it's quite easy to alter the skirt to fit you. I'm sure there's a youtube video how to. I thought you were crazy when you painted the little cabinet, but wow! My favorite 😍. I'm not American, so no red, white and blue. I don't really decorate for summer much, besides picking wild flowers❤.
Cory, you are a trendsetter and I think your choice of the red, white, and blue theme is genius! I love how all those projects turned out and how they look all staged together. The clothing all looked really good on you, especially that wool coat and the brown sweater with the pockets and brass buttons. So cute!!!! The skirt was nice, too, but maybe it isn't as much your style. You could start doing a tiny bit of clothing in your booth?
Thank you so much!!!!! I think the skirt would be good for cold winter days! We will see if I ever get to that size lol. I wish I could sell vintage clothes in my booth but they don't allow us to sell used clothes in this store.
Put some glass in the little cabinet which is what I think it had originally. I loved the fashion show. I love fall colors year round and have decorated a lot with red.
I watch you videos on my TV so I can't comment. But these were so exceptional today that I had to find you on mt phone abd let you know what a great job you did. Nothing wrong with double dipping for summer and christmas.
I loved the clothing you bought. I decorate in blue and white with yellow roses. I put flags in my yard for Memorial Day and the 4th of July, but don't decorate the inside of my home for these holidays. I never decorate with red.❤ your channel!!
I find it very hard to keep up with seasonal decor. I would like to go to an all year round decor and stay with that and add small touches here and there. I love pops of red all the time. The red cabinet os so cute! You got the look you were going for I think....
Great haul! You are right ! American/Canadian sizes vs English sizes you have to go up a size. My nieces would never buy here when they visited. I love your u tube tapes. Thank you
My favorite item is the small painting of the flowers, which I believe are Blacked-Eyed Susan. It is absolute perfection. I love the first outfit you tried on and the red jacket. What a great find! And, please, what is the musical piece at the end? Gorgeous piano!
First of all, I love your videos! I am not decorationg for summer this year. We have been remodeling a house for a year and a half and just moved in in February. I am just happy to be here. I usually do a few summery things but, I am content for now.
Great video as usual! Love that you kept the stair basket. So many items you can put in there to bring upstairs! Love the red and will check for that color in your amazon store. Love decorating with red, white, and blue during the summer. Makes me feel like I am honoring this great country and my appreciation for our freedom! Happy Memorial Day, and your videos are my favorite!!
I decorate for summer with blue hydrangeas and yellow and white flowers. I have a large white framed picture that features blue hydrangeas, yellow tulips and a blue and white tea set. It’s above my couch. The opposite wall has a large white framed clock with hydrangea in the background. Both were thrift store finds. I like how you arranged everything in the booth to celebrate the patriotic theme. You scored with all those clothes

Chicken wire would look so cute in the little cabinet.
I came here to say that too. Very cute!
Great idea!
It would! Try magic eraser to try to get the marker off before you have to paint.
Love the red wall cabinet👏👏👏👏 leaving the shelves ‘unpainted’ was the perfect accents!!!
Great haul, Cory!! ❤
The navy gingham skirt that doesn't fit would make great pillows!! 😊👍
True!
( I got Dryel brand last time... )
I use them to freshen table linens and runnners, holiday pillows, and regular clothes that may just need to be freshened, and the occasional dry cleanable item. Sometimes, on just one item, I cut them in half and clip the leftover piece back in the package for next time !
By the way, I am so over Joanna Gains .... but like you, i loved some of her old stuff !!!
❤❤❤
If you sew, take some from the bottom and add to the waist. Cute stuff
I absolutely love everything you pick and generally like what you do with it. I love how you share all the information on how-to's and why's and how you would price things. I think you are very reasonable. Thank you so much! I enjoy your show! ❤
I like all of the make overs n really like the red cupboard… U r a good shopper at the bins… ❤U
Summer decor at my house is very floral, and lots of birds and vintage/farmhouse signs/pictures.
I had a stair basket for about 20 years while my kids were growing up and loved it for tossing small items in that went upstairs. Much better than being loose on the stairs or going up and down so much! Sometimes one of the kids would get the chore of emptying the basket 😆
That's a great idea!
I had never seen or heard of a stairway basket until now! LOL 63 yrs! 😅
Love love love changing things up, using my lifetime of collectibles (and newer thrifted items) to try to be as artistic as Laura Caldwell ! Have you watched her channel and resale First Friday sales?
Really good finds. And you looking nice in all the clothes. Thanks for showing us the try on ❤❤❤
Chicken wire would be adorable in the cabinet
Hi Cory loved the fashion show . The coat looks expensive so worth the dry clean. Some nice finds this week. Love the little cabinet and the colour. Thanks for sharing and look forward to catching you next time. Xx😊😊
Thank you so much Andrea! I'm so glad you liked it. Hope you are doing well!
I don't decorate for summer but I love watching your process. I have always been a thrift store shopper and you find such great finds ! Love that you model your clothes.
I usually decorate my front porch and patio with red, white and blue. I found a large standing patriotic sign on clearance last year that I get to display this year! 🎆🧨🇺🇸
I love that you film outside! I live in Michigan and the weather has been so nice here. 😊
It's starting to get too hot to be outside already but I'll try and continue filming outsides as much as I can. Maybe very early in the morning
I need a stair basket. It gets real pesky piling stuff up on the bottom step for the next climber to take with them.
I was worried the barn red would be too much for the cabinet and the fabric you were trying to highlight but it turned out great!
Love the red coat!
You absolutely rocked those outfits!!
The fabric of that plaid skirt would make some cute pillows.
That's true! But it's wool
Can you find a picture frame glass to put in that red box door frame? So many cute things!
The red/orange and navy blue shirt looked AMAZING on you girl and I also loved the brown sweater with the pom poms! You're beautiful in anything you wear actually...
I just change up my mantel with Americana theme from this weekend thru the 4th. I have limited storage so a small trunk holds that decor.
Your so funny! Tommy Boy is one of my favorite movies. You made me laugh 😂!
But you got a great haul. Clothes look good on you as well. All your diys turned out very nice. Thanks for making me laugh ❤️🤗
Your cabinet would look good with clear glass in the door! You could buy a frame from the dollar tree to go in the door!
Enjoy your videos you are very talented
I love all the things you picked up at goodwill my favourite was the flower painting also the little cabinet you painted red . The only season I decorate for is Christmas my decor stays the same the rest of the year
All ways decorate for summer

I still love chicken wire!..great haul!❤..a Cooper’s hawk just landed in my yard yesterday wow massive wingspan

Love all the stuff you did😊
Great finds. I love what you did with it all. I decorate for spring, and transition my regular every day decor in the summer. I live in FL, but have a farmhouse vibe in my decor. I decorate with what I like.
Whole new wardrobe for pennies. Great job.

@13:34 You look amazing and how you styled the sweater with those white pants look great on you. I found your channel searching thrift finds and your channel showed in the feed. I'm from Alabama and enjoyed watching. Take care ❤❤❤
I don’t decorate for the “summer”, but I do some holidays!!
I do my front porch in red, white, and blue for summer. Love all of your makeovers and clothing. Great haul.
You can run the painted crocks through the dishwasher and the paint comes off. I have done that multiple times.
Great score and great flips. Love your staging in your booth. I am now decorating in patriotic decor.❤
My favorite time of year is autumn and that is reflected in my decor. I struggle with summer decorating.
Awesome the way you group things together. I don’t decorate for summer except to change out my floral arrangements.
I love that scene from Tommy Boy!! 😂😂😂 The brown sweater looks gorgeous on you@
You really scored with everything! 🦋
I still have about 30lbs to lose. By then this shirt might even be too big! Haha. Thank you!
So inspirational.. thank you for sharing all your wonderful ideas. I personally do not decorate for summer in red, white & blue. Love that you gave us a fashion show❤
Loved the fashion show! So many of my favorite pieces are thrifted. 😊
Careful with that glass candle holder thing. In the video the glass looks like it has a hairline crack starting at the top. Maybe 3 inches long? I saw it earlier when outside showing it and again when your waxing the piece 26:52
I LOVE the orange pot! That is so amazing and will be beautiful styled with greenery. ❤
I love your videos! Do you really live in the desert? Your yard always looks so beautiful and green.
I used to. 2 years ago we moved to Houston, TX which is like a rainforest lol
@@DesertDIY I should have realized that. LOL! I live in Michigan and it is very green in the summer.
Cory, you got an amazing haul there! I also love my charity shop bargains in the UK! The red does look fabulous, great ideas ❤❤
You really scored some nice clothing pieces! I love the brownish/rust sweater with the little pom poms! Fall is my favorite time of year too, i love wearing cozy clothes!
Thrift on! ☺️
Ps, I absolutely love that shade of red. Ginger Chick Rehab uses a milk paint in the color, wagon wheel, and I just love it, a vintage, or primal red ☺️
Thanks so much!! I'm so glad you liked it. Yay!
You can use the fabric from the skirt for reupholstering items too!
Really enjoyed today’s video and great scores!
I agree! Fall is beautiful here but it doesn't really start until around November. I can dream about it though haha
I always decorate with red, white and navy blue for summer.. it’s yellow and sky blue in spring ..
The red coat looks adorable on you! Such a score and definitely dry clean only. You found many great items this time!
Thank you!! 😊
Put some glass in the little cabinet which is what I think it had originally. I loved the fashion show. I love fall colors year round and have decorated a lot with red.
That's probably true! Thank you! It sold already
I watch you videos on my TV so I can't comment. But these were so exceptional today that I had to find you on mt phone abd let you know what a great job you did. Nothing wrong with double dipping for summer and christmas.
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate it!
I like everything that you picked out and did!
Yay! I'm so glad
I loved the clothing you bought. I decorate in blue and white with yellow roses. I put flags in my yard for Memorial Day and the 4th of July, but don't decorate the inside of my home for these holidays. I never decorate with red.❤ your channel!!
Thank you so much I am the same way with red, not a fan of it inside my home except for valentines day and xmas
Thank you
Paint wall cabinet black or red, distress it, and use chickenwire in front in black.😊
Loved all the clothes, stair basket and hat.
Yes, after easter comes rwb and bees!!
I definitely go all out with red, white and blue both inside and out.
My favorite item is the small painting of the flowers, which I believe are Blacked-Eyed Susan. It is absolute perfection. I love the first outfit you tried on and the red jacket. What a great find!
And, please, what is the musical piece at the end? Gorgeous piano!
Your just such a lovely person and hard worker 😄😄 love your Chanel 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thank you so much!!
@@DesertDIY English size 10 is more like an American 6-8 cause I’m English 😂😂😂
You can always keep things for a little bit!! That way you can enjoy them 1st.
The clothes were so perfect on you and I love the animal print shirt also. You are looking great!
Thank you so much!! It's been hard work lol
Excellent. Yes red white and blue. Then I do coastal but don't live near ocean.
First of all, I love your videos! I am not decorationg for summer this year. We have been remodeling a house for a year and a half and just moved in in February. I am just happy to be here. I usually do a few summery things but, I am content for now.
I don't blame you! Thank you
I’m using turquoise and orange for my outdoor summer decorating. Turquoise is my favorite color and I love how it looks with orange!
That sounds so cute!
Loved all the clothes! ❤ loved the wire 3 bin. Would look cute with plant pots in it.
Great idea!! Thank you
Love love the sailboat planter! It was perfect with the blue half the way up!
I'm so glad you liked it!
You can try the Dryel stuff. It's in the laundry aisle. You look super cute!! Love the white pants with all the sweaters.
Instead of cups you could hang red and white check kitchen towels♥️
Your talent is growing!!! Love your flips!!!😊
Thank you so much!!
I like to decorate patriotic for the summer! I liked how the little cabinet turned out!!
You really hit the jackpot! What wonderful finds!
That sounds BEAUTIFUL. I love blue and yellow together. That was my theme in our very first rental house together as a family. Thank you
Oh my gosh, mine too. I style my green house in blue and yellow. So cheery after our dark winter.
