I had a stair basket for about 20 years while my kids were growing up and loved it for tossing small items in that went upstairs. Much better than being loose on the stairs or going up and down so much! Sometimes one of the kids would get the chore of emptying the basket 😆

Summer decor at my house is very floral, and lots of birds and vintage/farmhouse signs/pictures.

I decorate for summer by putting a large pink vining geranium in a moss covered pot on my coffee table. Under the stems I place a couple vintage birds. It covers most of my coffee table and looks really nice. I’ve never decorated with red, white and blue. The Boy Scouts in my area put large flags in front of our houses that stick in the ground. It cost $25 a year and they do it for 5 or 6 holidays. It’s really nice.
I would have kept the picture. It would look so sweet on a book shelf. You got some really good finds while thrift shopping. The little cabinet is wonderful. Love your clothes purchases. They look nice on you. Take care.

I only decorate for Christmas mostly. A little for Halloween and even less for Easter. I never decorate seasonally. Plus, here in Queensland Aus, the seasons don't change drastically. Where I am, there's no snow, not even very cold at all, no fall colours on the trees. I have winter coats and scarves that never see the light of day🌞🌞🌞
You look really cute in all your outfits. The skirt could be used to make pillow covers but if it has to be dry cleaned might not be worth it. Dry cleaning has skyrocketed. Enjoyed video.❤. My favorite was the orange pot. I also love fall.

Cory, you are a trendsetter and I think your choice of the red, white, and blue theme is genius! I love how all those projects turned out and how they look all staged together. The clothing all looked really good on you, especially that wool coat and the brown sweater with the pockets and brass buttons. So cute!!!! The skirt was nice, too, but maybe it isn't as much your style. You could start doing a tiny bit of clothing in your booth?

You can use the fabric from the skirt for reupholstering items too!

For the door of the little cupboard you painted red you could find picture with glass in it. That is the same size as the door and use the glass from the frame in the door. You have a frame to use for a project where you don’t need the glass.

Hey Corry, way to go ,on all your shopping adventures. I too love the fall. Even though we have alot of evergreen trees, we do have the fall leaves colors. My niece Heather, works at Anthro. store up here in Seattle. (shout out) When we moved everyone of the boxes had the store on them... It was funny. You are so right about, getting away from plastic. Reusing, donating and buying second hand is the smart thing to do!!
I agree! Fall is beautiful here but it doesn't really start until around November. I can dream about it though haha

I love the cabinet..i just have a love for anything old & made of wood! Chicken wire would look so good in the door, really make it look rustic! I have one that's a little taller but more narrow, with 2 little doors and it has the small chicken wire in them. Super cute! The hobby lobby piece is gorgeous! A flickering candle would be beautiful in it❤ The frame turned out nice! Of course I love the copper pot and the wire piece with 3 baskets! I always enjoy your videos, and love watching your diy's😊

You can run the painted crocks through the dishwasher and the paint comes off. I have done that multiple times.

Agree 1000% about sourcing HOLIDAY/cold weather things NOW. Just one hour before your video premiered, I got an ebay notification on a Christmas collectable----new listing for CHEAP. ....so, YEAH....I bought it!! :) Scoring 'out of season' decor stuff for pennies on the dollar is for me one the greatest advantages of Thrifting" :) As for the uber cute clothes: KEEP that adorable gingham skirt!! It's likely a vintage piece; and sizing ran smaller 'back in the day', although the same dress size NUMBERS are still used. With your fitness lifestyle, you'll be able to button it up sooner than you think. :) Your booth is very Summer-y :) Finally---sorry to be long-winded---to answer your question about decorating for summer.....I have a couple of permanent key pieces--which are up year around, and which I painted years ago in a great shade of red from Rustoleom called "Colonial Red". It's one of their spray paints in the 2x paint and primer line. Anyway, I found that having a few pieces in a great shade of RED actually renders them Season--less.....I tweak a few of the surrounding things to acknowledge whatever the current season, but the red always WORKS....in Summer, it's Red/White/Blue....Fall its red/gold/brown/hunter green....Holiday is Red/Green or red/white. And have found the key is finding that RIGHT shade of Red. ....:) :)
How about a cute little towel hanging on your red cabinet instead of the hooks.? I liked all the red as an accents!
Love the clothes you found, gorgeous! If you have Basic sewing skills it's quite easy to alter the skirt to fit you. I'm sure there's a youtube video how to. I thought you were crazy when you painted the little cabinet, but wow! My favorite 😍. I'm not American, so no red, white and blue. I don't really decorate for summer much, besides picking wild flowers❤.

Along with adding chicken wire to the opening, maybe black or brown antique wax to tone down the bright red just a little. That way, it would match the age of the fabric better. It's still beautiful and I love it! ❤
I agree!! And you would still see the cute flower fabric! I personally do not decorate in red-white-blue….I used to back in the day…the 80’s? But it looks tired to me. But LOVE all the items you painted red…it’s a fun color!😂and that daisy painting is gorgeous!!

That paint on that crock probably would have come off if you soaked it in really hot soapy water because it was not under the glaze. I recently bought an old enamel bucket that had an old outdated tole painted teddy bear. I was cleaning it in hot soapy water and the paint started to peel off. I kept soaking and scrubbing until it all came off. I was super happy because I was considering just turning it so the bear couldn't be seen, but now I can have it any way and any where I want to put it.

Careful with that glass candle holder thing. In the video the glass looks like it has a hairline crack starting at the top. Maybe 3 inches long? I saw it earlier when outside showing it and again when your waxing the piece 26:52

I wash dry clean items on cold gentle and hang to dry after tumbling for a few minutes to warm up and release the wrinkles.

@DesertDIY for 100% wool I make sure to block or reshape the garment while it dries flat. Sometimes I stretch it to get into the proper shape. A beautiful coat like that one should only need to be cleaned once per year. I might splurge on the dry cleaning. For the wool skirt, I would definitely wash myself, and hang to dry - no tumbling.

Corey, I actually don’t do Holiday themes anymore. Kids grown & divorce gonna happen prob next year-2025. My home is always about bringing outside to inside. Loving the Ribins egg color with lime green right now. My outside furniture is a carulean color. Love outside to be beachy with my roses, Hostas, & impatients (red & purple) and of course marigolds (have to have some bling). I don’t like a lot of matchy from room to room. Like in one room, but not every single one matchy!! My kitchen walls are sage green with chicken, cow, old printed seed packets, and old style trucks with a camper. My bedrrom & living room are floral. ❤

I decorate in americana / flags for Memorial day, flag day, and 4th of july. It's ends up staying up in August and then everything thing fall, autumn, and pumpkins replaces it!

The skirt that is too small would make a great skirt or summer dress for your daughters. Or, possibly turn it into an apron? Love your creativity!!❤

Clothes look amazing!! Had an idea on the striped Madewell shirt. Idk if youre handy with the sewing machine...but you cld create a split on the outside on the arm cuff and that wld kinda loosen the fit?? Idk...looks great either way!
I decorate my front porch for each season .
I sell little pine trees year round in my booth. I set them in a plain or painted terracotta pot with a little bird ,eggs or bunny for spring and summer, pumpkins for fall . They sell so fast I can’t keep up. Like you everything I sell is either thrifted or gifted to me so I don’t have a back stock of little trees🤣 Always love your videos😊
PS . hand wash only is only a suggestion in my book🤣😂 I machine wash on gentle / cold , even my wool coat , and then lay things out or hang to dry. If something needs to be reshaped and then laid out to dry, I use my cookie cooling racks to lay them on top of so the air can flow around them. I hope that was helpful. Can’t wait till your next video.

Hand Wash coat in cold water with gentle soap. Just douse it up and down. Dry flat. Don’t use washing machine.
Compared to the other clothes which looked great on you, the sherpa button up did not look as high end on you. Maybe an autumn paint shirt. 😁

I don’t decorate for summer. But since the children have grown and have left home and live in England while I live in Jersey in the Channel Islands, I tend not to decorate at all except for some artificial flowers. This isn’t to say I don’t enjoy other people’s decorations
I love looking for clothes for my kids at goodwill and the bins, they grow so fast and hardly wear half the clothes you buy them! Then I take stuff they outgrow to kids consignment stores to get some cash back

Try using hand sanitizer to get permanent marker off of the wood curio cabinet. A mirror would be good in the open space, and paint it white, to go into a small bathroom, or powder room, to store a brush and comb, and maybe lip balm. We need to be careful about storing medicine (prescriptions) in cabinets in our bathrooms. That's the first place addicts look to steal narcotics! You'd be surprised by the seemingly professional, put together people, who visit, and ask to use your restroom, just to search for drugs to steal. Unfortunately, they come in all ages and backgrounds! Always keep all prescriptions locked away from children and addicts!

I've already decorated with red, white and blue, and American flags, for Memorial Day, and I leave it up until Labor Day.
It's just my husband and me at home now, because our 4 children are married, their ages are; 29,31,33, & 35! They are two years apart and were born, girl, boy, girl, boy, with birthdays in September, October, November, and December! None of them were "planned" for. They were, and are, our greatest joy and blessings from God! I like to decorate for the seasons, because it reminds me of when our house was filled with laughter and happiness, and sometimes frustration, but that paled to all the joyful times! We now have 6 grandchildren, and are grateful that 3 live about 10 minutes from us, so we see them often. My 6-year old grandson and my husband are best friends! My husband worked hard and we saved, so he was able to retire at age 57!, So they get to spend a lot of time hanging out. His sister, who is 3, has started going with them. An idea for parents or grandparents who have a van, where the back seat folds down into the floor, leaving a large area, take them to pick up some fast food, or pack a picnic lunch, and have a picnic in the back of your van, especially if it's raining, and you can't eat outside at a picnic table. He takes them to playgrounds to play for a long time, and when bad weather moves in, they have a van picnic, something they talk about and request all the time! I know this has nothing to do with the items she repurposed, but seeing her family at the middle of her journey of raising their children, I wanted to encourage young families that it doesn't have to cost $$$ to make children happy and be dressed well. I never bought clothes at the mall! And I never paid full price for clothes, toys, shoes, etc, that I bought. Thrift stores, garage sales, facebook marketplace (never meet at a private home to buy something), threadup, and store clearance sales save families $$$! God wants us to be wise with all He has provided. I love seeing young moms doing that! I also homeschooled my 4 children, in order to be able to travel with my husband, as he went all over the US, teaching for the government. We just packed up the school bins, that fit under our van seats, and took school wherever we went. I believe, now, more than ever before, parents should consider homeschooling, so you know everything they are being taught aligns with your morals! I do admire a young mom who teaches her children, and found a way to help support her family, while her husband furthers his education, for better opportunities! God Bless!
On really hot days in Texas my kids and I would have a picnic on the family room floor. We put our picnic table cloth down and opened our picnic basket. So much fun!
