Great video. Simple and easy to follow. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to put this out there. I think you saved me from digging out my old hydrant and putting a new one in. You time and energy is so very appreciated!!!
Thanks, much better information than the other video I looked at.
My SINCERE thanks for your time and willingness to share the knowledge. -Just the direction I needed. Most appreciated.
Thank you!
thank you sir! you saved me a lot of trouble
There is a new type with male threads and a female couplers! Found it once an now I can’t find it. But it eliminates the thin brass clevis rod👍
I'm glad I checked this right before I started digging! Thanks for the video
Thanks . My hydrant in my barn just exhibited this behavior yesterday. I'll take a looky today.
Thank you! It was simple and you saved me a ton of money. $9 for a new Clevis rod.
I figured our issue was something like this, thanks for the video!
Another thank you for the video. You probably saved me a day's hard work.
Thank you, I think you saved me
Good that it was a nice easy fix!! Good job done😁👍
Thanks for the video. Fortunately mine was just a loose set screw.
Thank you for the link. My clevis pin broke while feeding the critters this morning.
Thank you for your video. Going out to see if it is this fix. Fingers crossed. 😉
Another thank you for this video. I appreciate you getting right to it and explaining the process without extraneous comments or info. Now all we need to do is convince Tractor Supply to carry the clevis rod on the shelves.
Thank you....and yes, they need to stock them!
Thanks for your video. It helped moralize that various brands work with different height rods. I didn’t replace the rod but I could about 3/4 an inch off of the one already installed and it worked great.
Learned enough to fix mine from this video so thank you!
Thank you!
Thanks!
We just lost one in our yard. I will have to check during the spring. It was suddenly extremely hard to lift and then suddenly it came up BUT no water. Thank you for a direct at least.
Thanks for watching! Hope it helps.
Thanks for the great tip. Its exactly what happened to me. Thanks for taking the time to make your video.
Thank you!
My mother just called me tonight with a no water situation with her yard hydrant. Thanks for sharing your information!!
Did this work?
My problem is something is jammed shut in the bottom. Even when I take the plunger out and turn the water on it barely trickles out the top of the pipe.
Thanks! How about the full length rod? Mine is awfully rust and I think I would rather just replace the full assembly. Clevis, rod, rubber plug.
Can you point me to a video on a stuck hydrant? I pulled the lever up for turning on. But it's staying stuck upright and no water coming out either.
Hey! I just had to thank you for this video. I had the same problem (and I'm no plumber) that you had. I followed your instructions (I'm also no rocket scientist) which I found very clear and friendly. Problem solved thanks to you. My hydrant works better than ever! I also have chickens.
❤️
Great tip and instructions!
Question: is that heat tape you have on the pipe of the frost free? All the heat tape I have ever seen says it is only for pipes that constantly have water in them...?
I use the heat tape in the winter here. I only need it when it gets in the teens temperature wise. It gets very cold here and can cause problems even for these hydrants. The heat tape works great.
@@TheCookFamilyHomestead We are in single digit temps already this year, highs in the 20s. It’s nuts! Thanks again.
Where is the link to purchase the Clovis pin?
It is in the description.
Yeah the "Ole extension cord to the yard hydrant" trick keeps people from using it!😳😳😳😳
???
Does the water need to be turned off from the source, before you take it apart ?
Yes it does.
How dare you identify that part as having a female end 😅😅😂😂
