My dad had one of the few v60 polestars back in 2016. Definitely isn’t competitive with an M or RS product but they do have some character to it and sporty enough to have a good time. Great winter car for Chicago as well.
The Ohlins dampers have about 20 settings. 0 is the stiffest. The factory recommended setting is 4, front and rear. I had my V60PE set to 20 front and rear for daily use. Significantly more compliant. I'd bring that back to 4 for mountain drives. One of the best all round riding vehicles I've been in.
HVAC Auto Mode: You have to press and hold Auto for at least 3 seconds. Then it actually adjusts. I swear this is listed nowhere, but it works in my car.
I adjusted them here and there when I had a 2021 V60 Polestar Engineered. It could feel GR86 tight, or smooth like a luxury sport sedan (wagon). Really great dampers.
Have a 2016 V60 Polestar that I passed down to the high school daughter. Good sports wagon, fun to drive, nothing crazy. I don’t see them often, but I suggest buying one if you can find a well maintained one.
I hate that they haven't put the wireless charger back in. It was taken out a few years ago due the pandemic chip shortage. Hey Volvo, that's way done and over now. The 2024s and 25s should have them back in.
it was taken out because it was not good for most phones and took up valuable space. The new XC90 has a better implementation. I’m hoping they do the same with XC60.
@JakeDrives1 No, they specifically said why they took it out, and it is what I stated...the chip shortage. I don't know what you mean by "valuable space" when they put a cigarette lighter 12V in its place. A wireless charging pad is definitely more valuable. I have a '21 XC60 with the pad, and it works perfectly fine for my large S24 phone.
At the beginning of every livestream I say that members get priority answering as my way of thanking them for their support. If I get through the member questions I'll answer non-member ones, and I'll occasionally answer a non-member question in the middle of the stream as well if it's something I can answer quickly or that I think will be relevant to others in the stream.
I don't get Volvo. They don't update for years and yet they charge more than the Germans for a less competitive product. I guess it's inflated pricing to show more discounts but still.

Wow that’s great insight, kudos to you for actually adjusting them!

Thanks for the info!
Really appreciate the honest review!
Ohlins dampers from the factory are wild. I wonder how many people will adjust the dampening on these vehicles.

Sporty Hush Puppies Matt, lol. Middle age from Middle America… good review. This car is getting more relevant.

It does look like a 6-piston front caliper.
You said xc40 at the start. Just saying make a quick edit.

How do you run your livestreams? Do you not take questions from viewers who aren’t members?

Geez that center stack is ugly, dated and hideous to look at! $77K!?! 😂 no vents seats and adaptive cruise is extra? 😂
Compared with Toyota RAV4 Prime
