Videonystagmography (VNG)

VNG is a series of tests that evaluate the function of the inner ear, associated nerves, and portions of the brain which control balance and eye movements. VNG testing will help determine the origin of your symptoms, thereby enabling appropriate treatment to be rendered.
Infrared video goggles will be worn over your eyes to measure eye movements. There is no physical contact with your eyes and the tests are not painful. During testing you will be asked to watch various targets on a TV monitor. Some tests will require moving your head and body in several different positions. If you have neck or back pain, tests can be modified to accommodate you.
