First let me say thank you for doing these blend clubs.... ☺☺☺ I do enjoy this blend in the morning with my coffee... I get the same bag note as stated...really kind of stays a singular blend for me...but great while reading the news on the Internet

:):):):):) My all day Burley blend. If I lived in the 50’s, I would be the guy that smoked this all the time.

Hey Chops! Miss ya brother! It took me a while to warm up to this blend. I actually liked Lane Limited Ready Rubbed much better. At first Sutliffs RR smoked hot and was hard to keep lit. I actually rub out the chunks and let it dry out for a while. Since Lane discontinued their ready rubbed I had no choice to learn how to enjoy this blend. I'm actually a Prince Albert fan but when I wanted something a little sweeter I would reach to Lane's Ready Rubbed.

I like this one. The cute is perfect for Burley as it seals in the flavoring and helps it develop into the best version of itself. The nutty/woody taste of the Burley is wonderful and the chocolate/molasses/ rum topping doesn't interfere with the tobaccos natural qualities. Burley seems to be at its best when it is paired with light toppings that benefit it's earthy qualities like cocoa and molasses. It's probably why it also goes well with coffee and Virginia goes well with tea. It's a synergy

🙂🙂🙂🙂 A great burley blend that is an aromatic. I like it a lot. Smooth and creamy. No bite. This could be an all day smoke for me.

This is like Bob's Chocolate Flake without the Lakeland flavor. I was surprised a flavorful tobacco like this was as dry as it was.

I appreciate your review MuttnChop! Do you (or someone in the comments) have a blend recommendation that’s on a very similar taste profile as this blend, just a bit sweeter like you were saying in your review? …Referring to your comment: “Would have given it a higher review if it were sweeter”.

:):):).5 I'm not the first one to say it but I kinda like that woody almost like chewing on a pencil taste. Love the smell. I ended up ordering 4 more ounces. I agree with Chris's moisture level as I haven't had to do anything to mine other than smoke it. I would recommend this to anyone new as it is a very easy smoke and I can't see how it would offend anyone.

:) :) I liked the tin note, the cut and the moister content. After smoking about half bowl, I remember thinking to myself that it seemed to be harsh. Perhaps the Burley. The next morning all I could taste was the tobacco, much like smoking a strong cigar the night before. This tobacco is not for me, but I will keep what's left in the cellar, and try again in a few months. Please take my review with a grain of salt since I'm far from an advanced pipe smoker and tend to like english blends.

🙂🙂 Since I have never had the original version of Ready Rubbed I can’t speak to how this compares to that, but I can say that neither are likely to be a blend that finds its way into my rotation. As far as burley blends go it was just OK and it reminds me of a lot of the old “over the counter” blends I’ve tried, and if I had a choice between this and something like Prince Albert I would chose the Prince Albert. My sample came very wet and needed to be dried out for several hours before it was in smoking condition. The tin note was sweet - maybe chocolate - with the burley in the background, and the taste in the pipe was mild. I know a lot of people like this blend so you should at least give it a try; I’m not likely to buy it again, but I will finish the ounce
    that I have.

🙂🙂 As an intermediate pipe smoker, I found this blend not to my liking. The moisture was just right and lit very well with no relights needed. I'm not a fan of the cube cut, but it packs easy and was easy to tamp without compacting the blend too much. I could smell the burley and chocolate, and would say the chocolate was more like a dark chocolate than milk.
I tried this in a Meerschaum and a briar churchwarden. The burley was very forward and I could not get past that taste. The smoke was smooth and mild throughout. I'm not a fan of burley, and as such, couldn't get into this blend. Other than the burley, nothing stood out to me that would give me reason to want more. Not one I'd purchase again.

: ) : ) Two smileys. It lit well and was not hard to keep going. There was nothing particularly bad about it. But to me, there was nothing particularly special about it either. I don't think I'll order more of this as there are too many other interesting blends out there to spend any more time or money on this, as someone else said, "subtle" blend, which was not for me.

I like burleys but this was overly molasses, bready ,yet sweet &round ,I would better have Prince Albert instead, cube cut , strength:mild to medium, not one I'd purchase again,McBaren Golden extra is way better and less sauced,

Golden Extra is a fine smoke. There's a jar of it on the shelf right next to me. Just the right amount of "secret sauce" for that blend type. An excellent one to load up a big bowl of, have some nice big puffs, and just relax. No worry of nicotine overload with it (at least for me). A Goldilocks blend, for certain!

:), :) - Mild smoke; earthy flavor, get a little bit of the cocoa taste and the bread; as good a way to describe the flavor as any; subtle; not really my style
