I tried both techniques. When I put the icing on the parchment paper it cake out on the cake splotchy and some of icing stayed on the cake. Why didn't the icing stay on the cake? I use my smoother. I do freeze my cakes before icing so I don't know if that was a factor.
This technic creates a very pretty look. But how do you flatten out the parts that are not even with the surface and look like cracks? I didn't see you smoothing it out. I've seen that very often at other yt channels. The parchment paper is too soft to hold its shape when applying to the cake and so far I could see it can't be flattened out 100% even with the smoother. At the end it makes the whole appearance a little ..hm.. what is the right word...it jusr doesn't look polished. Is there anything to fix that?
