I hope they prioritized the in-lore story rather than trying to inject real world politics and wokeness into it. The plot of the first move relied on the separation between predator and prey, something that would be present in such society, but if they try to add something from our world into theirs, it will most likely not work and just feel shoehorned in by force
In truth, I hope they mention that Nick is descended from Robin Hood. It would not have to be part of the overall plot, just a fun little scene to give fans a thrill.
I totally agree that the world should be expanded in the sequel! It’s so rich and beautifully animated that I’d love to see more of it! Nick being the main character was something I didn’t necessarily consider, but I actually think it’s a good idea. It would help the sequel feel more fresh and not a rehash of the first film. I also want to see more of Nick’s backstory as there are still many unanswered questions. I understand why you don’t want them to be in a romantic relationship, as many people resonate with seeing a positive friendship on screen that shows you can care greatly for someone without it needing to be romantic. Personally, I don’t care whether or not their romance is canon, as long as it doesn’t change their core friendship dynamic. Kinda like how spouses say their partner is their best friend, I feel like a relationship like that would work well. Just as long as it’s not too “lovey-dovey” as that doesn’t really fit their established personalities; I would prefer basically the same friendship but with a different label. But even if that never happens, I’d be completely okay with them just being friends because I just love their friendship chemistry in general. The “realness” of their relationship was the star of the first movie for me, and I really want to see more of that in the sequel! And honestly, I agree that the best course of action for the filmmakers is to just never confirm any official romantic relationship, have them stay friends, and at most seed out ambiguous romantic remarks. That way, no fan is isolated or feels insulted, everyone can have their own interpretations, and the movie is overall more popular :) I know this was long, I just had a lot to say. As for the whole WildHopps thing, imagine if they pulled a twist and one of them comes out as gay or lesbian like Nick getting a male love interest or Judy getting a female one. Alternately, one could develop feelings for the other but gets friendzoned when Nick/Judy comes out as aro-ace.

I relate to Nick more than Judy, Zootopia needs a better villain than bellwether
I just hope we get to see Travis as an adult because we've seen Gideon as an adult but not his ferret sidekick.
Kinda like how Elsa became the lead of Frozen 2 because of her popularity, the same can happen for Nick.
