This guy is the best trainer on UA-cam. No bullshit and tells it like it is and doesn’t care if he ruffles any soft ass people’s feathers. All I know is since I’ve been following him for the past year and implementing some of his training methods I’ve made improvements. I agree when I jumped on gear my training got harder because I felt like if I’m putting gear in my body I better fucking push myself to the limit to get the most out of it.
This style of video is badass. Seeing big Mike doing the exercises over and over while explaining it really helps me see the proper movement better. The rants sprinkled throughout are hilarious too.
I switched up from free weight chest workout to almost all machine work. I have noticed impressive results with the shape of my chest. I did get a little bit worried that I would lose strength but that has not been the case. Plus my joints have become pain free and my chest pumps have been insane!!
11:46 Mike is right about not overhead pressing. One of the only you tubers who knows how to avoid a common weight room pitfall. Physical theripits have known for decades not to push heavy weights overhead as it pushes the shoulder tendon up into the acronium. The answer is to do shoulder raises instead.
No bullshit ever comes from you. Always speak your mind and give top tier information on your style of movement. Thanks for all you’re doing for the sport
@@Noughtnowknoteva And that is why we have subscribed and return to watch every new video. When someone is genuine it is very easy to spot and will have our support no matter what. Thank you for your reply it made my day. Take care.
Van Wyck you’re killing it all around! Non of this “hey gang” don’t eforget to smash that like button tap dancing begging with your hand out BS. The video comes on and you start taking knowledge and giving great advice. Awesome stuff man.
Thx bro, first time commenting. I typically don’t take the time to do so. However, I’ve been training for about 25yrs and I just turned 50. Like you I’m not to concerned w how much weight I throw around or how pretty I look. I still take gear and had about an 8yr period being natty and the last 3yrs bk on and feel great again. I get regular blood work and stay away from too many orals that are hard on my kidneys and liver etc. But anyway, not that you care it’s nice to just mix in some of your theories along w what works for me but most importantly most channels tend to either be one or the other, being looking pretty and lean or lifting heavy and strong. Your exactly like me bro. I love to train, love being strong, my body still surprises me by changing things up, which is EXACTLY what you do for me. If I were able to articulate and have my own channel it wld be like yours bro. So anyway, I just wanted to say thanks man. From a former, bodybuilder, power lifter and fighter and now just an old gym rat who will train forever THANK YOU!
I refer all my friends who thinks they know how to workout to your videos. They ask why I get big and they don’t. It’s easy. I actually workout correctly and eat right, with proper rest. Thanks Mike!!
Awesome content man. It’s amazing so many people think the only way to grow is to bench all these crazy pounds but in reality it’s all about the control and contractions. I feel this so much because I struggle with elbow bursitis.
I’ve been lifting for idk probably 5+ years and have watched UA-cam creators the entire time. You’re stuff is always spot on and falls in line my other go to’s John Meadows, Seth Feroce etc.
I’m so glad I learned about this guy on Money Buys Happiness podcast, this channel is where it’s at. I need to get a lift in now. I’ve been dealing with a shoulder injury that’s really effecting my chest day and now I have some hope
I just wanna let you know,I myself having shoulder issues, everything I’ve tried that you’ve recommend has helped me,some people just don’t wanna take advice.
I have 2 knackered shoulders so can't move any where near weight for pressing but find a pec dec fly then incline machine where can tuck elbows in then move into a low incline dumbell fly for 8-12 reps then without rest and go straight into dumbell press for same reps keep it slow. Actually get more out of this now than when lifting a lot more. Injuries taught me to adapt and lift smart
Thank you for the honesty, keys & how to the correct way instead of the bs and dana linn Bailey I use her program, but I've incorporated what you've taught in the mix, that's really been a huge game changer. I appreciate the help you give, it's gotten me further in the last three weeks or so ever since your rear delt popped into my feed, yes I take my training/lifting serious and I do not like all the detailed whack nonsense, less is better, again thank you and it would be cool to have a training session with one day.
I’m a beginner only done this whole weight training for 3 months and I’m 40 years old, this guy has really great info 🔥🔥…. Thanks for giving us this free info! Super appreciative 🙌
Binging your vids since I recently found you. Love the way you explain how the movements affect your muscles. This has helped me a great deal in my recent gym switch to a place with more machines. Thanks!
Hey Mike, you hit the nail on the head again with this one. Can you be transparent with your opinion on being “natty”. I Don’t fully understand what that term means/entails or whether it carries a negative/positive stigma in the fitness industry. You mentioned in a video that you would never go back to being natural and stated “why the fuck would you?”

Man I wish I saw this a couple years ago when I had no idea how to train but I though I did. Everybody needs to see this and actually apply these techniques. Dropping life changing knowledge in this mug. Keep it up!
Totally trained with you on this video! Got a nice pump and contraction on every rep. Here's to hoping you do more videos like this one. It felt like I was getting trained right there with you. Stay Wycked Iron Mike, it's the only way to be👊
Really liking the “elbows flared” Method! Completely goes against all advice with tucking your elbows into your lats. But I think that is more for powerlifting
Great vids Mike, I’m new to yr channel but your a breath of fresh air. straight thinking logical techniques. An old school mind set on modern machines and exercises. Superb. Thank you 👍

I don't know if I'll ever return to HEAVY LIFTING AGAIN, but the BRIGHTSIDE is, I feel a better pump because the weight is lighter.
Some exercises it's ok for leg drive. That bending of knee what you talking about refers the weight is too heavy. EXAMPLE: Mike when doing dB shrugs was using LEG DRIVE
