The movie which taught me what is the definition of FORGIVENESS is about. Both old and new versions are beautiful in their own way. When you live through the character, you will feel his every emotion. Anger, fear, sadness, and revenge....so does how he feels down on his knees at last in front of a higher almighty as he sees someone else's suffering is nothing compared to his. He learns to forgive and Not to Look back...because he is not in that phase anymore. ❤

Honestly I didn't expect to love this movie so much. Way better than the other version (I love it but I was still disturbed by the ending with the death of Messala). Good story telling and much more coherent in two points: -Judah and Messala forgave each others. -Judah didn't befriend and save the Roman like in the old version which was a dumb decision according to me in the 1956 version. You can forgive a complete stranger who treats you like shit and you can't mend up with your brother...
I've always loved Andra Day! She's an amazing woman with true musical and vocal talent and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Ben Hur in theaters. I can't wait to see this new iteration of Lew Wallace's classic Biblical Historical epic tale of the Christ. I enjoyed watching the 1959 Charleton Heston classic each Easter as a child with my parents. Even today we still watch it. This new movie certainly looks like it's going to be a good contemporary adaption with lots of action and moments of deep liturgy.

I'm always the 1st one to say "Don't remake a classic. Leave the classics alone." But I so thouroughly enjoyed "Ben Hur" that I have only praise for the film, the message, and this song, which is played during the ending credits. As the message of the film is holy, I wont speak my mind re: the mainstream film critics, as that would certainly cause me to use obsence language. But PLEASE give this amazing, spirit-filled film a shot, and check out this amazing artist Andra Day (discovered by Stevie Wonder)
