I know exactly what you're saying. This game was weird and kooky, the story didn't make any sense to me, the characters were strange but none of that mattered. Getting to bounce around your own little d3 world was like nothing else that came before it
I remember playing this game when i was about 5 or 6. I remember renting it all the time at the local store. Damn have I gotten old and damn did video games come a long way.
Man I just came from watching a PSP video and this game I loved so much and never forgot was displayed for a second or 2 with the name and my jaw dropped. I’d never expected to find this again. I had this demo CD which included this game and it just blew my friggin’ mind I loved it so much! I remember feeling the rush of getting as far as I could and lasting as long as possible before getting the inevitable white screen. I remember those seal sounds from stomping on the enemies (I mostly remember that frog from the stage it always threw me in)… and those green snake power-up thingies that look like a green cobra mosquito repellent thing that you light up and smells like crap! This video is all kinds of awesome and nostalgic, bringing back memories REAL hard. There was just something special about this game (even though it’s so simple) that I always wanted to have it but never knew the name. There was another demo that was unforgettable to me, completely different from this one but on the same memory in my head and pretty sure it was on the same disk. It was some 3rd person game where you’d start out at night, outside in some empty parking lot or something… you were definitely around buildings and you were this strong dude that had to get in some place and some bad guys would show up, there were some cars around (I think I remember a black car?) and you just had to get them. Idk if I’m right but I think you started out with just your fists or a knife and then you got a gun shortly after when you’re in a scuffle. Ugh, I know I’m not doing the best job of describing it and might be all over the place but I hope somebody else had the same disk and remembers the game and this rings a bell and they can do a better job of describing it & hopefully tell me what the name is cuz I also always wanted it and I swear the demo was as short as it gets. While I’m at it, completely unrelated but still an amazing old game I remember that got lost to time and who’s name I can’t remember. It came with my old computer (think it was my old compaq from the late 90’s. Anyway you were this jacked tough dude and I remember being underground in some sewers where there were some monsters. You couldn’t let the water drip on you from above because you’d get damaged by it. One thing that’s extremely memorable from that game is that you could press some buttons to do a powerful attack that’s weird and came with the drawback that you got damaged when you did it. The dude would make a paper airplane and throw it and that thing would do some serious damage to enemies, would absolutely destroy them, but while you were making it I guess he got a papercut or two cuz you’d lose HP (I think the screen would flash red, or he’d drip some blood or Idk there was SOME obvious indication that you lost hp). Man if I get both of the names I think I’ll die and go straight to heaven. Wish my brother was alive, I bet he’d still remember the names.
That intro cut-scene and voiceover are hilarious. I really don't know wtf they were thinking with that underground dungeon level. It spoiled the entire fun of the gameplay. Such a weird design decision.
@@rockmanfan5104 It's the same as playing it back in the day. This isn't a remaster. Also it is offered on PlayStation Plus Extra Premium for both the PS4 and PS5. #PlayStationPlusPremium #PlayStation4 #PlayStation5 #JumpingFlash

Well, I'm not entirely sure taking a 2D genre and being the first to put it in 3D is "inventing" the genre, but it definitely was the first. Game still feels like a weird fever dream in my memory.
@@oldsxcool9289 thanks for the reply. Yeah I know that, I mean, how do capture the footage from the ps2 console? Did you use the Elgato Game Capture or something else?
"Oh Sony you used to be so great.....what the hell happened?" What kind of question is this? Sony is still great. They're popping up great games every time you look around.
No need to be rude. It's just that there's no way you hadn't seen games like God of War, Uncharted, The Last of Us, Bloodborne, Ratchet and Clank, and Horizon Zero Dawn. A lot of people love those games. Sony still got it. They haven't lost their touch. You should try out more Sony games sometimes. Not trying to start an argument or anything but with all the talk and positive reaction that so many Sony games have gotten over the years (including winning awards), that's a rather strange thing to say.
Uncharted, Last of Us, God of War, and Horizon Zero Dawn WERE developed by Sony and Ratchet and Clank and Bloodborne are both Sony IPs (with Sony Japan actually being involved in the development of Bloodborne) and they are all great games, no matter what gen they're from, especially since we're comparing them to a PS1 game.
Third Track Off J Dilla's Donuts B-Side. Also, Nintendo releasing games for over 35 years does not make them number one, otherwise, their consoles would be doing better than PlayStation, in which they haven't.
Mario 64 is not perfected. The controls are horrible. I know this was 11 years ago but what are you talking about Sony is on the top of their game lately. They have better exclusives than switch and Xbox combined. I own all three of the newest consoles and ps5 is by far the one I play the most. Best controller best games and well I just like it better. Even with Sony not manufacturing many of them they are still outselling Microsoft.
This game blew my mind when I was a kid. Just being able to explore a 3d world for the first time left a memory I'll never forget.
Kids will never understand how mind-blowing it was, after years of 2D sprite-based graphics, experiencing something like this for the first time.
And you're not wrong too!
I know exactly what you're saying. This game was weird and kooky, the story didn't make any sense to me, the characters were strange but none of that mattered. Getting to bounce around your own little d3 world was like nothing else that came before it
@@martpr2012exactly. I would just jump and explore the whole time.
This game lowered my GPA in college.
Lol nice there Hans gruber
I had this one demo as a kid. Oh the memories
I've been trying to remember the name of this game for so many years! I thought it was some fever dream of a memory I was having
I dont tihnk I got to the second level ever as a kid, but it was mindblowing to see

Same exact memory.
So much nostalgia. This along with ridge racer were my first two PlayStation games. Then I did the joys of crash bandicoot and Tekken
Underrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Underrated as fuck indeed..
This is bringing back some memories

I remember playing the demo and having my mind blown lol
Modern gaming industry cannot produce something this creative

I remember liking this game as a kid, even though it was kind of weird and a bit janky. The PS1 was a good time for gaming.
The draw distance of the game engine is amazing. If only all racing games from this era used this game's engine...
gotta love early 3D games
Jumping flash. Such a fun game to play.
this looks like a forgotten masterpiece
Never forget the day i got this back in Shop n Bag in the video section in 98 it’s was used and my favorite game 😭

how did you capture the game on ps2?

This isnt what I consider a platformer. I still think Mario 64 is the first.

Because it's first person? It's a platformer, it's 3D, so it's the first 3D platformer, deal with it.
