So here we got jumping flash, which according to Wikipedia is tge first 3d platformer. Unlike most later ones this one plays in first person and is surprisingly good. The controls are a bit odd at first as your rabbit jumps up and as he reaches the top f his jumping arc he starts looking downwards, but that is actually incredibly smart cause this way you will always know whether you're on right track to land on the platform (cause you'll see your shadow there). Flash also has quite allot of manuverability in the air which allows you to correct your jumps reliably. Stage design makes good use of Flash's incredible jumping ability cause they've got allot of verticality which makes it fun to climb. You can also shoot and use special abilities but you'll likely forget you can do that till boss encouter happens. I also included the extra mode here which remixes tge stages to make them more challenging which was a nice surprise, you get less time, different platforms and placement of carrots. Overall an excellent game that is still worth playing now despite being great grandpa of 3d platforming.
Randy Boggs: "And so, Zurg's evil plan is thwarted, the cratered planet is rescued, and the first chapter of our story draws to a close, the people are free to live in peace. Now, our time is up. So long, everyone."
Emperor Zurg: "Curses! My Base! I've lost another battle! You got away with it this time! But, I won't give up! Remember, Buzz Lightyear. As long as science still exists in this world, I'LL BE BACK! GOODBYE! UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN!!!!"
This game is amazing, and the sequel is also fantastic. I am sad to see it gone but glad it isn't forgotten - there is an homage to it on the PS5 game Astro's Playroom.
