  • Time spent in the workshop is never wasted and preperation for an upcoming session is always a big part of fishing for me. I love time spent preparing and in this film I am making rigs ready for a trip to a Solent beach.
I look forward to hearing about your versions of this rig and the captures you have achieved. There are always many ways and variations of the same rig and this one works well for me. Your adjustments or changes are interesting to me and may help someone else, sharing is caring.

Nice video again! I been away a while and catching back up now 😁 2 small and personal points on this type of rig. I always put a bead between the SRT spring and crimp because I have found that the spring sometimes runs over and wedges itself on the crimp. If your crimp has a slight larger OD than the springs ID then it's not an issue. Secondly, you can always make a slightly longer 3 hook clip down and keep it in reserve, so that in the rare event of when the fish are hitting hard, you can switch up and catch more 😁

Brilliant Mark! I took a few of your tips and made an up & over rig recently with a 6ft snood and an SRT spring for tension. It worked really well, but the total catch for that session was one cheeky Spider Crab! Loads of them about down here - same night one of the lads reeled one in estimated at 5Lbs! I've always been dubious about crimps but tried the Breakaway adjustable ones with success. I like the fact that the neoprene sleeve protects the line, and you can crimp them to be as tight or adjustable as needed.

Well what can i say mark that rig works a treat, put some together with some 1/0 on (also 3/0 but didn't use today) and it was deadly. First cast and boom a nice whiting and a lovely 2lb flounder on it, happy day's. Then a few tiny little whiting. I also had a nice 5lb conga on my normal 3ft pulley 3/0. But everyone i was fishing with was what is that 2 hook rig can you make me some!!! I directed them to your vid so they could make for them selves. Brilliant rig loves it and will be a regular on my fishing trips from now on with all sorts of different size hooks on. 🎉🎉🎉

Lovely job Mark, use to be my go to rig match fishing many years ago but components back then were big n clumpy back in the 80s now days a much finer streamline rig. Pleasure to watch Mark 👍

  • @garethrodd5351

Another great vid, when I next go to Bill's for bait, I'll get all the shiny things.🤣 Fingers crossed it will work 🤞,good clear instructions, so no reason why not. 👍

  • @garethrodd5351

Like it mark, I've been wanting to change my 2 or 3 hook flapper rigs to get them out further so I will be getting some cascade swivels and srt springs and once made and uses I will let you know how it went. Tight lines fella

I have tried fixing the bottom crimp approx 3-4 inches above the weight so it creates a drop down bottom snood. It still clips up ok.

A great tutorial and every day is a learning day . I have been making the rig body then the snoods with me cursing because the snoods are to short. It looks better your way .

  • @user-et3yo2lx2w

Thought the video was great and one of the best I’ve seen, going to follow this and make my own. One question, I assume it would be easy to add a rotten bottom to this? Would be good to see how you would measure this up?

Great video - thanks - just a question - why dont you put a crimp at the top of the rig between the last bead and the top swivel? Is this so that the snood can move up and down the line at that point?

Hi Mark, just using your video to make a 3 hook clip down rig “ ting rig “ lol , don’t know if you managed to find away to stop wastage in making stop nots yet, but I don’t cut the power gum off the real until I have tide the stop not, that way you only get waste from one side , hope that helps , love the other videos too , great helpful stuff , thanks.
