For the ones that don't know, if you want to see the "recent items" tab, it's a setting you have to toggle in the system menu.
Under the display tab you can turn on "mark new items" and "recent items". Both are super useful
I appreciate the toggle fromsoft. Now how about in your next game you make this the default. 😭😭😭😭
There is no other backhanded blade, you two hand the weapon and you wield two of them. Lots of weapons in the dlc are like this btw so two hand everything to make sure.

I know this is so annoying like in the base game u can be like "well it's his first playthrough" but i found Bayle for example by just continuing through the area when it was obviously my first playthrough to 🤦♂️

The DLC is fucking massive dude Miyazaki was capping when he said it would be the size of Limgrave. Shit is like Limgrave plus Caelid plus Raya Lucaria and even more.

It's honestly as big as a normal sized full game, if elden ring never came out and this was a 70 bucks full game nobody would complain.

Tbh the 'size' is close, but the sheer verticality makes it like the size of the base game, minus all the dead areas in there. Actually insane

You really have to understand how not only massive, but tightly packed this DLC is. They weren’t kidding about the density, imagine Limgrave/Weeping Peninsula with Liurnia & Altus Plateau underneath, and stormviel, Leyndell and Farum Azula stuffed in there. You HAVE to make sure you look around carefully.
Also, don’t forget to turn on the recent items and newly discovered items in the settings bc for some reason they’re not on by default- and finally…

Don’t be afraid to use them there’s a bunch of new sick weapons in the dlc so don’t limit yourself to one build the whole time.
If you kill those two fighting dragons Igon will spawn and let you summon him for the final boss of the jagged peak area. Also when you summon him he drops the hardest lines in elden ring so it's def worth it.

btw you can continue up the jagged peak, it's up and to the left from those lighting slimes, it's kind of hidden. also you can two-hand the backhand blade and it'll make you hold another one, you don't need to find another

Came to your channel to see a new player react to Elden Ring trailers, stayed for the hilarious commentary and the joy of a new player experience the amazingness of these games for the first time. Rock on man. Also, watch out for the little shadow guys who are carrying pots over their heads, they drop Scadutree fragments and they're really easy to miss. I'm only 15mins into this video though so if you find that out in the next hour then I retract that lol
So I found your channel by accident while scrolling and I know I might be late by a couple of months but I gotta say welcome to the community bro. It’s always nice to see more people enjoy from’s amazing games. Now I haven’t watched the video yet but let me make something clear in regards to from dlcs- they are notoriously hard ( if you thought malenia was hard, wait till you see some of the new shit Miyazaki cooked up). Here is a bit of advice from someone who has already cleared pretty much everything in the dlc - Scadu fragments are your lifeline. Like the new lv up system is brutal if you don’t engage with it. Low shadow blessing lv usually means getting either one shot or stun locked into oblivion for most builds. Secondly and this might be a bit spoilery but I feel it’s very important- there’s a lot of missable content in this dlc, like way off the beaten path - so do make sure to explore every nook and cranny (this will also help with gathering scadu fragments). Again, it’s such a joy to see more and more new faces in the community that actually engage with the gameplay loop instead of just spamming bad reviews because they got curbstomped by a boss. Enjoy the dlc cuz I certainly did!

Don't forget it's a DLC that is unlocked by beating mohg, so you should expect a difficulty curve based on what mohg was + a lot of the blessing to get to make it normal
The dlc is hard af but with a bit of perseverance (ie stubbornness) you got it!

@NewNameID I hate to say this, I love everything thing except the main bosses and reuse of enemies, relanna is awful, divine beast is cool, dragons are even worse, everything is gundyr aggression and has fire giant hp, idk what else to say, also. I'm on ng+1, lvl 200+, +6 scat tree

Ive been rushing through the game again to finally beat it for this DLC, rushed to the dlc to get the backhand blades and used them to carry me through base game and been binging your series alongside my playthrough
Fun fact: it did tell you how many runes the items gave if you expanded the info by hitting the X button or whatever your controller has. However, its really nice that its just default now (even though i keep doing it out of habit) lmao
The back hand blade is a two handed weapon so when you do the action to hold it in both hands it gives you a second one

"Guys you gotta explore in this game" PREACH DAVO PREACH!! All the people complaining about the DLC's difficulty and they haven't explored nor engaged. To me its a masterpiece the level design is peak and the bosses are harder than ever and all compelling in their own ways. My favorite thing about you is how you always explore and give credit to the world and level design. Never change in that regard bruh it's so nice to see. Plus in terms of map progress/travel progress you're way ahead of a lot of others I've seen enter the DLC. Can't wait for the next episode, you're close to the top of the mountain where an epic surprise awaits 🔥
How is the level design peak when half the content is hidden behind an invisible wall that you have to use a guide to find?
@@Jahpeatone64 I can't believe you just asked that. How is it peak? EXPLORE AND ENGAGE just explore the map and talk to every NPC you find fight enemies and look at the environment around you! There's literally only one area that's actually behind an invisible wall and even then every other area is fun to explore, and can be found by just exploring. If you're upset that you can't find anything follow messages there's a lot of players actually trying to help find secrets.
Plus we're in the early stages right now where there are no guides. If you find something cool that means you're one of the first people to find it. If that's not exciting and peak level design to you idk what to say to you. By all means though slander the peak and wait for a guide instead of actually playing this DLC you paid for.

There is an crystal tear call Twiggy Cracked Tear. It's very useful when exploring dungeon or dangerous area. It's for tactical retreat.
It makes it so you don’t lose runes after death, and it lasts for a long time.

I would love to see some experimentation with some of the new weapons, I was so hype that I cleared my inventory just to wear and weild new stuff, there is some crazy weapons fairly early and some insane stuff later on, this DLC is absolute peak.
For the runes, you could see the descriptions of rune items to see ow much rune they give. I also suggest that because they also have descriptions that progress lore. Like Lord's rune talks about lords, Numen rune talks about numens and Marika's rune talks about marika. So you should definitely check each item description.
Even the least valuable items give very good lore bits, like you can learn albinourics are artificial life froms and created by humans from a worthless item Albunioric Bloodclot.

The recent items tab has to be activated in the options menu. It's incredible it feels like finally puttin on glasses after seeing blurry for years
This is hopefully the last comment I'll drop until Davo drops his vid tomorrow, but this is a reminder to explore the DLC. The DLC has a completely different leveling system than the base game and if you want to get stronger, you have to explore and find Scadutree fragments. They're not just under the crosses, they are EVERYWHERE in the DLC. So hopefully that also means we'll get a lot of videos of Davo exploring :)

Davo, check all weapon descriptions. A lot of weapons come with a paired weapon, so two handing them will give you a dual-wield moveset, like the Backhand Blades or Rellana's weapon

Backhand blade is already two blades. Just hold it with two hands. I'm using them too, and they're my fav weapon rn.
You can upgrade your flasks 1 more time with a sacred tear, definitely worth going on a quick mission to have it max you won't find any in DLC
Davo is smart. The way you get stronger in the DLC is exploring and collecting scadutree fragments. It makes the game so much easier
Pro tip! Kill the dragons that are fighting each other and speak to IGON again then fight the boss at the top and you can summon him in the arena !

As others have said there are a lot more weapons with built in dual wield, the back hand blade being one of them. You just gotta two hand it. And there is more on the top of the mountain you just need to look for it.

You can get another great katana if you go straight after the rahdan solider npc lady (not towards the giant gate thing) it’ll be under a dragon. Saying this so you can power stance them

Finished the dlc already lol, love it. I would say though be very wary of spoilers though, as certain things are pretty big near the end and can very easily be spoiled
At the very end of the video at jagged peak where the ancient dragon smithing stone was, you can go left and that is the way forward. trust me, it’s not a disappointment.
I explored too hard, I found Messmer before I had fought any of the new remembrance bosses 😅

you missed one of the new light greatswords in the rellana castle. called milady. worth getting/looking up how to get. super cool weapon and moveset and u can use the winged stance ash of war you found on it

you should get the dragon crest greatshield talisman in haligtree, and equip the crimson seed talisman. those two will be your salvation in the DLC. the greatshield talisman for more physical defense and crimson seed for more heals on flask since these guys hits hard. you'll be chuggin your flask way too often.
14:00 that's a weapon that already has two blades by default just two hand it instead of holding another weapon. the other blade will come out.
Yo Davo if you go to settings on the menu and go to display. You can turn on the mark new item feature so whenever you pick up something it’ll instantly show up in your inventory

@@chriscofer6780 I'm aware scurdutree only affects dlc but when most bosses drop nearly 6 figures you will over level easily, I started the dlc only recently at level 125 and now I'm level 158 from just exploring no farming, if he does the dlc first he'll over level for the final main game bosses, if he beats the main game first he'll still be fine for the dlc.

Already beat the final boss of the DLC, and I won’t spoil it but I will say that I had to respec my stats to a bleed build at lvl 195 be able to beat it, and even then it took 8 tries.
Also, there are a lot of weapons in this DLC that are 2 in 1. Try holding the backhand blades with both hands, and you will dual wield them.
Also, when you fight Dryleaf Dane, don’t just walk up to him and kill him. You have to do the gesture you got along with the note near him.
