Fantastic Scenery in Switzerland. Unbelievable. One thing i noticed immediately towards the end of the video is that i did not see one piece of trash or graffiti on the buildings or the tracks. People there must take tremendous pride in their country.
This is the most beautiful mountain scenery that I've ever seen. Just absolutely gorgeous. I bet its just as beautiful in the dead of winter but probably not quite as popular then. Zermat must survive entirely upon tourism. What a beautiful place on this planet.
You don,t grasp the hugness of the surrounding area until you come into the town near the end of the video. At the top (start) of the video you could not grasp a true concept and just see how big these mountains actually are. Very well done!.....very enjoyable!
I went on this ride in '82 on my first and only visit to Zermatt. The area, in April, was covered in snow and my lungs felt the altitude. I also went up Sandia peak in New Mexico, also quite high and my lungs felt it as well. I have been to Switzerland seven times since '77 and have taken trains or cable cars up several alps, the highest near St. Moritz. Pilatus I have visited twice with semi clear skies, once in '82 I saw a sailplane soaring over the peak. In Lauterbrunnen Valley I enjoyed watching the parasailers landing in the valley meadows. I have never parasailed but I am a trike (powered hannglider) pilot.
This video saved me a lot of money, not having to fly over there to see it. When we lived in Munich we planned on going there to see it but never made it.
Вот это да! Технологии зубчатой железной дороги позволяют не только строить пути с большим градиентным уклоном. Но и довольно быстро по ним ездить! Круто!!!👍💯💪
I was here some 30 years ago, and I made a beautiful photograph of the Matterhorn with the trainstation in the foreground. I had this photo printed on a large canvas, and it is still hanging in my study. What I immediately notice in this video is that there is no more snow visible around the Matterhorn and lower mountains, and there was on my photo, which was made in August.
Extremely impressive scenery and beautifully manicured railway right-of-way. Noteworthy is the fact that the system uses a dual catenary wire with the traditional single slider pantograph. 2023/10/21. Ontario, Canada.
Congratulations on this very nice cab ride and for choosing this perfect sunny day which doesn't happen every day in the Alps. Wonderfull landscapes seen, may be a lack of snow on some peaks. I've particularly appreciated at 0.22/0.44, 1.20/1.45, 14.40/15.10 and especially 22.09 (Matterhorn). Thank you, also, for all infos mentionned.
I'm guessing that this railway, like the Jungfraubahn, is being powered off of a delta-wound, corner grounded ac supply, the neutral being connected to the track, and the remaining two phases on parallel overhead wires. The genius of this system is that power is distributed to three-phase traction motors. When downhill trains speed up, the traction motors act like generators, retarding the descent while feeding power back into the system. Descending trains thereby help power ascending trains, reducing power taken from the power plant.
Wow, what a fantastic video experience. I was in Swiss in July 1971 while touring with a friend on motorcycles. We were in Zermatt for 4 days, one of which was to hike/climb as high as practical on Matterhorn. Your video really brought that back to me. Seeing Zermatt again was great. Thank you for this, you certainly earned my sub/like. Anxious to view your other work. P.S. ppl walking around looked just like us 53 yrs ago...interesting.
Our pleasure. 😊 Thank you very much for sharing your experience here. We strongly believe that you would enjoy our other videos of Switzerland too…do have a look. Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭
My tipp for all who want to journey there: take the trains in the afternoon. Less people. Especially in summer last possible trains down to Zermatt are around 7 and 8pm. At this time its very peaceful because only few people have remained. Sometimes it seems you are nearly alone. You can watch beginning sunset, with luck you can perhaps see at peak some capricorns and along the route at some known places marmots.
This video is really outstanding!! Superb quality of the video, a breathtaking landscape! My great thanks to you. For sharing all this beauty with us. And to me it brings back so many dear memories as I travelled in june with the Gornergratbahn. So this was the first time I watched this video, but it will not be the last time😊. The direction to do the video downhill to Zermatt is top! Greetings from the netherlands 😊
Zermatt is not a village. It is high buildings beautiful big town .I want to live here for few days It is near big mountains. The train has come down nearly fifteen hunderd meters .It ran slowly and carefully as the railway is steep much and dangrous thanks for showing natural journey
Was this filmed during the summer? Visited Zermatt in the first week of spring. Everything was covered in snow. And this is how it looks when all the snow has melted. Equally beautiful. Thank you!

There is no substitute to civic education.
Extasiada com essa paisagem deslumbrante 🇧🇷
I worked several jobs in Europe for five months and never saw one piece of trash on the streets or sidewalks.
graffiti is hard to avoid, but in Europe we have these things called trash cans we teach kids to use when they're toddlers
@@thesteelrodent1796 ; I get what you're stating. I see this EVERYDAY in my town of Reading; Pa. So called Adults mostly.

It's popular in winter. One of those stops was at a ski lift. Skiers and holiday-makers love it, or so I hear. Never been myself.
Switzerland is full of this.⛑⛑⛑⛑
Peaceful and relaxing to get away from the world's problems.

I did this trip just a few months ago, in late July. I'm so glad you captured the ride. Zermat is a magical place, we loved our too-brief stay there.
Worked in Geneve’ a couple of times and was able to take this rail trip once; stayed overnight at the top. Great experience.
Got to do this in real life September 2024. The weather was perfect. The scenery was otherworldly.
@@adventurekevin9409 me too! We had a few clouds here and there on September 18. Spectacular nevertheless.
