Hey Logan, I hope you're happy and healthy. I've come across your videos tonight, and they've helped me so much getting out of a dark place mentally. I'm a little older than you when you had your dentures and am currently looking into getting them done. The cost, among other things, is a concern. However, you've put my mind at ease with a lot and I'm super grateful for finding your channel. Congratulations on the sobriety. Keep being a light in a world with a whole lot of dark.
@Jednv What I've learned is that depression and anxiety only hurts yourself. If your able to just learn to accept things in life that you can't control life will get way easier. I've had mine 9 years now and don't regret getting them at all. I never have to worry about teeth pain or going to the dentist and I'm able to smile without constantly worrying about hiding my teeth. The whole process was fast and is nothing but a distant memory now. You've got this!
@mrlogand Thank you for your reply. You're an inspiration, dude! I've recently moved to a new city and job that's completely out of my comfort zone and had a very traumatic experience in the first few days, which has put a whole lot into perspective. I was in a real bad way before I found your videos and feel a weight lifted off my shoulders, not just in terms of the teeth but life in general... if you can overcome everything you have and keep the attitude you do, I can do the same. Truly, thank you so much. Whole lotta love brother, from across the pond.
Wow! Thank you, thank you for sharing your journey. I'm on one of my own. I'm about a month and a half post opp. Its not been easy. Sounds like I had a similar appointment as you all in one afternoon I had full extractions, and then immediate "upgrades" placed in my mouth , and out the door I was shoved! I'm so clueless. I went to Affordable Dentures and no-one told me what I should do so its been a tough few weeks, but I'm so so thankful. I wanted and needed this so badly I wouldn't wish this on anyone, but I truly don't regret it, I learned so much. People are so cruel and mostly out of misplaced judgement and just a lack of empathy and kindness.
Perfectly said. Every single thing..perfectly said. Thank you for posting. You're helping people. And as RuPaul says "If they ain't paying your bills...PAY EM NO MIND"! ❤
Congratulations 🎊.... I am 32 turning 33 September 12th and I am 7weeks off methadone, still not 100% back to normal but I am pushing through.... thank you for making this video and being honest ❤
Well done love thats awesome congrats im down to 20 ml im not sure going forward how to come down fully for the least pain...Again you should be so proud of yourself.
@paulheart3593 keep tapering... I made the mistake of doing cold turkey off 30mls and I suffered!..if I would have known how much I was going to suffer I would have just tapered down to 1ml lol... 3 straight weeks of horrible physical withdrawals but it was too late to turn back once I started so I just kept going.. you can definitely do it just go really slow and you won't suffer like I did lol
@@KnewEyes1990 Omg cant believe you went cold turkey straight from 30ml jesus I cant imagine...Im down to 20 i used to be on 90ml so i just really want off it now been on it 9 years but ive stayed clean..I know i dont know you but i just have to say I'm really proud of you thats amazing. Thankyou so much for your kind words and encouragement i think Ill taper to 1ml lol i cant deal with toothache let alone withdrawels lol ;)
@paulheart3593 Thank You for the kind words it means alot! It's the hardest thing I ever did...all my emotions came back at the same time, any feeling or traumatizing event I ever tried to block out with drugs came back and I was stressing about all the time I wasted...but thank God that didn't last long that was during the first couple weeks.... yes do the taper and it won't be as intense. Anyone I know that got off without too suffering tapered down to 1ml lol....yes same for me I was on it 6years and stayed clean the whole time and I felt ready... when stopped the methadone I had it in my head it didn't matter how bad I felt physically or mentally I wasn't giving into to the drugs calling and was telling myself it won't last forever. That is good you stayed clean for 9 years on it, if you feel ready then deff keep your tapering up
@@KnewEyes1990 Your welcome and your incredibly brave and again should be beyond proud of yourself. I think thats what scares me really i have a lot of chilhood trauma thats left me with PTSD Anxiety depression i know it sounds so glum...but we also lost my younger brother last year found dead in a crack den...I've read up a lot on the links between chilhood trauma and the effects it has on us as adults and one factor is that it leads to substance abuse..You have a great minset and i wish you nothing but happinesss i really do..I think I'm going to taper down to 1ml. Thankyou so much for your advice and kindness.
I'm a month post opp from my extraction of everything and immediate denture. I go in for my 3rd appointment. My top denture fits amazing. My bottom denture fit great for a week. Im happy to be going in on Wednesday for an appointment for an adjustment as its currently cutting into my bottom lip, underside of my tongue and both sides in the back. I can eat with the top denture in rather well that's taken me a month to get there. I know I will get there with the bottom denture. I'm glad I had it done it's been a releif as my teeth were bad and I really didn't have many left. My work has been great with appointments.
This vid helps me a lot. It's like you are a future version of me telling me it's gonna be ok.. It is rare to find someone on YT who is so open and honest as you are. I subscribed. I hope you make more vids man. Have an awesome day, I wish you that genuinely from my heart bro.
Props to you, leveling up is hard but it’s worth it that’s how we grow as humans. I totally relate with your thoughts on social media. You’re a smart man, keep keeping it real
You LOOK GREAT!!! I would never have known you had dentures!!! Also you are ONE OF THE GREATEST HUMANS!!! You are helping so many people by sharing your story and CONGRATULATIONS FOR being clean for 3 years!!!!!!!! That is AMAZING!!!!! Your humbleness and honesty is the best thing that you can give to others!!! God brought you thru a hardship so you can be an inspiration to so many people!! Thank you for all that you are doing and sharing with your life with us!!
Thank you for making this! After an extremely bad tooth/gum infection that normal antibiotics didn't fix recently, I'm finally getting to the place mentally where I'm accepting that it's time to get them removed. I'm hoping I can find a place that will do implants on a payment plan but worst case scenario, I'm glad to hear you say that you got used to dentures and can eat with them no problem! My biggest fear is just doing it, it's probably my 2nd biggest fear in life but I'm just going to have to take a good amount of benzos and get put to sleep or as close to it as possible and bite the bullet... Again, thank you, I needed to see and hear this more than I knew! Your teeth look great btw, makes me feel somewhat excited cuz I can see that I'll be able to get that smile back too and it'll change so much in my life for the better!
As crazy as this sounds my perspective was to live in the moment and allow myself to feel the emotions of the entire experience. It was a challenge I knew I would get through but we tend to catastrophise things that we fear, and I promise you after it's all said and done you'll look back and realize how easy it was. Never having to worry about my teeth again took MASSIVE weight off my shoulders.
I don't know how I stumbled upon this video but I sure am glad I did! Thanks for sharing! This was so inspirational! All the best to you in the future!
Kudos to your recovery success! Getting there can be quite a hurdle, so be proud of your accomplishments! The dentures look great also! I would consider dentures except I was told I couldn't be fitted comfortably with them because the roof of my mouth would need to be shaved down first to accommodate dentures if I were to lose my teeth. May peace be with you!
I 100% agree about social media but this video of yours really helped me. SOOOOOO MUCH. Very brave btw. So thanks! And congrats on still being sober✌💛 Edited to add Thank you for your complete honesty and transparency. I feel less afraid now.
Well said and as an ex heroin addict as well who is in desperate need of dentures I agree. I've been trying to wait to be able to get permanent dentures but Its getting to the point I might have to just get what I get.
I wish I had your outlook when I was younger. I was ready in my 30’s but a couple people talked me out of it. Now I’m much much older and I can’t bring myself to even take the first step of going into the dentist office. I’ve been ready for years but I can’t get myself to make the stupid appt. Im going to watch your video over and over to get over this whatever it is that is blocking me. Thank you. ☮️
You know what you need to do, you just need to do it. Sometimes we just have to remember we control our lives. We decide what path we're on based on the choices we make. You can choose to make the appointment and get it done and simply do it. It sounds like a trick or something people just say but it really is as simple as that.
Thank you for this. I go for a full mouth extraction on August 20th and I am terrified. Not sure what to expect. Not being put to asleep during it either! Your video helps. I am also getting immediate dentures on this day and am scared about that! Worries about pain, worried about bone spurs, worried about the process to get the dentures right until I get my perm in January, 2025. Thank you for sharing your experience.
@shanebroege1978 I remember what I felt like before I went in. I was in the same head space you are. The process was actually fast and easy. I had 32 teeth pulled and was in and out in an hour or less. The shots were honestly the only painful thing and that only lasts 10 seconds. They numbed my top first and pulled all the top teeth and stitched it up in like 15 mins, then the same process on the bottom. The first few days after surgery came with some blood and a bunch of smoothies but after that your discomfort vanishes. To be honest the first time I took out the temp dentures and looked in the mirror it was hard to accept that I was 24 and had no teeth. Practicing acceptance and thinking about how much worse some people have it helped me move forward with a better outlook. I'm almost 33 so I've had mine for 9 years now and I gotta say everyone loves them and I'm able to eat anything I want except for bitting into an apple. The adhesive can be annoying because when you take out your teeth it's still stuck to your gums and I have to use a shirt to wipe it all out. That's really the only issue you'll have to deal with. Plus I never have to deal with teeth pain, self esteem because of bad teeth, and I never have to go to the dentist again. It was 100% worth every minute of discomfort and I promise you will be so much happier. The mental aspect is something you alone will have to conquer but if your able to be logical and just accept that this is the way it is then you'll be fine. Good luck brother and thanks for the comment!
@@mrlogand Thank you so much! This makes me feel much better! I appreciate you taking the time to respond and let me know! I know there was a lot explained in the video but your reassurance is great! Each day creeps closer to the moment lol but you have assisted in easing my nerves! Take care and thank you again!
Thanks for the awesome video. I have a number of partial dentures. I know in time, I will probably have full dentures as I have two more bad teeth. I do not know if they can get fixed or the dentist will pull them. Another partial denture maybe? Thanks again for the informative video. I am open to whatever the doctor wants to do. Thanks again.
