@@jm7804 you never know if you never try... sometimes you might be lucky :) it´s not so easy to find someone you feel great with together... there are not many gays and i barely have only felt a crush and felt good with one in my whole life... instead sometimes i feel so great with some straights and they same with me and after it gets deeper they mostly get scare they are not gay but feel attracted to me as a guy... i´m gay and felt attracted to women in a deep way as well but it would not work for me in the deeper part... and i can´t blame straights for rather wanting a woman even if they feel attracted to me it´s way easier in our society to be straight with a woman than straight with a guy lol

I see this as the telling of a sad and all-too-common tale, one in which young people are at a great disadvantage, especially when the "grown-ups" around them are narcissistic.
It wouldn't have been so harmful if Gerard had been honest with Jasper, a very young man. The older person, the authority (teacher) has sex with a beautiful sensitive student. There's an ethical issue right there. The pain for the younger man is disproportionate because the teacher is holding all the cards, a man who seemingly cares only about himself. Yes, there may be something in Jasper that is drawn to unavailable people - we all have our issues - but that doesn't make it right for Gerard to use him. And he never does say he's sorry, which Jasper asks him to do.
People play this game. And the destruction they cause is very real. To be abandoned is excruciating. Not everybody learns how to heal from that kind of loss. There are so many things in the world we can't control. But just think if we treated each other with decency, we would contribute so much to the healing of individual lives.
I imagine the young woman will have her turn as well. After all, he has taken her to the same bathroom where Jasper was taken. That is one of the sadder and more striking moments in the film. Jasper feels the loss so intensely that he imagines his lover caressing him while he hears them making out.
The sexy, cool, empty & fraudulent art teacher will keep doing what he does - and that is also very sad.
This film is quite painful and very well done... beautifully acted. Sobering.

OK, I've never been obsessed with a teacher - most DEFINITELY not with a straight man (well, maybe a little.
