Thanks for giving some unknown clues to how to make this phone work - for Seniors (like my Mom) who are so intimidated, even swiping doesn't work. It's hard to explain if you are used to it but you help break it down for the old time Android users (or just older folks). Thanks!!
You're good. As a somewhat reluctant iPhone virgin, I have found so many 'beginners guides' and 'basics' videos which assume all you are doing is upgrading from an old iPhone to a new one. Aaaaaaagh! they waffle on at 100mph about setting things I dont give a Sh*t about and will probably never use, use jargon I dont understand and never explain it..... thank you for your slow and patient approach.
You're welcome. Sometimes I make mistakes but I'm getting better. Thanks so much for the kind words.
Thank You! This video made a hudge difference. Hard to learn new tricks until someone shows you where to start.
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much, I feel to continue learning I was so frustrated abut to give in technology
Thank you! I'm an android phone user. However, I have an iPhone for work. I had the hardest time getting to the open applications screen. Your tutorial solved that problem. Great work!
Thanks for helping us learn how to use my Iphone
Helpful indeed! You are gifted in your ability to communicate in a clear and concise way. I was a holdout on buying an iPhone forever till I gave in to the demands of my "very adult" children, and I am pleased I made the move, grateful for your help in every step so far and looking forward to whatever else remains. Thank you
Thanks! I'm glad the video helped! I've got two more iPhone videos coming out shortly. Stay tuned.
I have used iPhones for years. But until now, I’ve been fumbling around. Thx for the video!
I'm not a senior, just here looking for tips on how to teach one. I feel like ,depending on the senior, any home button model is easier to get started with. People love and understand buttons lol. The 2022 and 2020 SE models are great, but Iphone 7s and 8s can also be bought used for great prices online.
I fully agree. That's why nearly all my recent iPad tips videos are with the basic home-button iPad. I'm looking at getting an iPhone SE as well. The home button just works better for those first learning how to use an iPhone or iPad. Thanks so much for watching and I hope the video was helpful.
Thank you very much Rich for the easy to understand tutorial videos for Seniors. They are very helpful and informative. Keep up the good work!
Will do! Thanks!
I just got my first iPhone - I like the flashlight on my Android better - I only had to shake the phone to turn it on and off
What did I learn from this video?
Dads can figure out anything!
Passing this onto my mom, she just bought an Iphone.
Trying to find her instructional videos along with helping her use the phone.
Ha! I guess so.
THANK YOU
Thank you. good education for me.
So useful. Thanks
You are Awesome! Best instructions EVER. Can’t thank you enough - keep them coming please.
Thank you! Will do!
I am really enjoying this video. Right off the bat, I learned a new trick. However when he got to trying to access the control center, I found that that depends on the type of phone you have. I have an iPhone SE. And in order to access the control center on that, I have to swipe up from the bottom. Just to let you know for those of you who have iPhone SE’s
Yes- One viewer suggested for future videos I let people know what device I'm using - because it can make a difference. You've confirmed that it's good advice. Also, I'm a fan of the SE though I don't own one. I've thought about getting one and using it for videos as well. Thanks for the helpful comment and thanks so much for watching!
Thank you. I am switching from an Android phone back to an iPhone and these videos are helping immensely.
Great! So glad they helped!
Thank you ! I’m learning a lot from watching your videos!
Useful!!!!
Glad to hear that!
Thank you sooooooooo much. You explain it in a way seniors can understand.
Happy to help!
Once again good sir, thank you so much for your help and time taken to piece together another OUTSTANDING video!!!!!
You're very welcome. Thanks for the kind words.
I didn't see a videos. .why
Still binge watching! Thank you so much!
Great. I hope the videos are helpful.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent tips. Bought my iphone 12 few days ago and your video helps a lot. Like the way you present, nice and slow. Thanks
Great to hear! Thanks so much for watching.
Another Home Run!
Very useful and clear explanation
Glad it helped!
Good video ,very simple and easy & to the point and very essential ..and basic fundamentals of iPhone use
Thanks! I hope it helped a little.
@@RichBowlin I'm going to show this to my dad. The only thing I wish these videos had is an occasional acknowledgement of home button iPhones. The basics will be useful for him, but it will take some loosening up of his 2 months long fear of his phone to learn all this unfamiliar information in a second language *and* constantly think outside the box to ignore the slightly different layout.
...i allowed him to have a qwerty nokia until 2021, so I guess this is partly on me x)
Rich, Great job! I've noticed your tracker band on your left wrist. I would like your opinion on why you like it, as I'm looking for this instead of a watch. Thanks. I've seen and used most all of you're videos.
Hey Rich! In the iPhone SE 3rd Gen (2022) the 'control center' is arrived at by swiping *up* from the bottom and to see all open apps one must 'double press' the Home button. And of course just press the Home button to go to the home screen.
Oh Thank You! I was trying to make that work (I'm SE 2nd gen). Now that I was able to close the (gulp!) 38 Apps that were open on my phone, maybe my battery life will improve. Again, thanks!
@@scottboettcher1344 Quite late with this comment but you don’t need to worry about manually closing apps, the operating system is designed to handle keeping apps open, in fact it may actually worsen battery life by manually closing apps because it can require more power to reload the application into memory than just keeping it in the background.
Re: accidentally making a phone call; the answer is to use a case with a screen cover. This also reduces the chance of a broken screen.
Wiping from bottom half way you bring up all the open in the background screens. I have read conflicting articles on whether or not you should leave all these items open or weekly delete them. What is your advise and why? Roger of Orlando
Hi Rich, these videos are wonderfully clear. My Mum just got her first iPhone. We got SE because it is most similar to the iPad she is already familiar with. Did you ever make videos for iPhone with a home button that I could refer her to? Many thanks :-)
I haven't. The software on an iPhone with a home button or an iPhone with no home button acts the same. But I've had a lot of people make the same comment (including my mom), so I need to be sure to discuss this when I release a video. Thanks so much for watching!
control center 3:35
I get stuck in photo page and cannot swipe to get out of it. I swiped up from bottom to get back to home page, but does not work ..i have iPhone 13.
How make folder for passwords seniors😢 1:38
Can this work via any phone or can it be loaded into iPad on its own?
The way you swipe is pretty consistent between iPhones. There's not anything that needs to be loaded. Hope this helps.
I turned on enlargement and for some reason I had my phone in my pocket I took it out and it is enlarged so much but I couldn't see anything on the phone and it dialed 911 on me I kept telling the operator that it wasn't an emergency but she still wanted my name and address which I didn't want to give it to her fearing that I would get in trouble she called the police on me the officer came to the door nice guy gentleman he knew how to fix it I couldn't shut it off for some reason he finally got it to shut off and then I shut off that enlargement
Wow! Glad the got resolved!
Damn get you will ready for your loved ones before you do your I pad ? Ya I’m not leaving one dime because my dad left my 3 kids 1,000.000 each
This is far too complicated. My i phone is going straight in the bin I'm afraid.....that's where it belongs. I appreciate you trying tho.
keep trying ...it's good for the mind to think , be patient , put it down for a while and come back later , i've been working on it for a long time
@@linoleluminum2017 Thank you for your kind words .... however I have concluded that an i phone won't improve my life one little bit , so I'm not even going to think about it any more
I love Apple but I hate my iPhone.
Yep...it can be a love-hate relationship!
@@RichBowlin It is TOO complicated.
