Thank you for this awesome and detailed review. We were considering this location for our anniversary and all of these issues seem to be a deal breaker, although I do see it has been almost a year since your visit.
Thanks for watching! I’m sure they are done with the construction by now but I think there are better options for your anniversary. The Wyndham, Reef 28 and the Hilton are our recommendations. Hope that helps, cheers!

I couldn't agree with you more!! Even if it was free, I will never go back. I even paid extra to utilize the HPDC and I still was disappointed. The noise (down the street) was very bad.

to be fair this hotel use to be called something else it was bought by hilton recently .. id wait til hilton does the remodel.
You’re right, it used to be Live Aqua and it was really nice! It was vacant for a while and needed a refresh.

Isn't that kind of expected though? This property is like $120 per night whereas the neighboring Hilton Playa del Carmen is $350 per night.
