    Well I went ahead and purchased one and I must say it seems like I made a wise purchase. Going to use it next weekend in Mississippi at the deer camp. As far as the lack of use of my left arm, I’ll practice all week here at the house on the deck. Thanks for your help brother!

      I use mine in a ground blind. I wouldn't want to carry this around all day on hunts where we're stalking game. In those cases, the trigger technology the Primos tripods have is sweet due to almost instant set up. But for stationary blind hunting...yeah, this thing is lit!

    Buddy of mine has a bog and it seems pretty decent and it weighs 8.5lbs
    Another great value is a Innorel RT90C. You can get them for ~$300 they weigh 6.3lbs and they can accept alot of the common ballheads and leveling bases that are 75mm (which it comes with a 75mm video bowl and leveling bases) and can even accept up to 100mm leveling bases if you have a 100mm video bowl . I have one with a Feisol CB-60D ballhead and I've been super happy with it, it supports my 23lb comp gun while still being very smooth.
    There are benefits to the $1k+ tripods like high weight ratings, lightweight (3.2-4.5lbs depending on which one you're looking at), higher quality carbon fiber legs, more durable locking rings that are 1/4 turn, they collapse down to a very small package for their size, and are made in USA (tripods $600 and below are usually made in Asia).
    They all have their place and it really depends what you're wanting to do with it.
    For the average hunter or backyard plinker a bog will do just fine
    If you're a hunter with a little bit larger budget or competitive shooter on a budget and want a modular, light, and rigid tripod, the Innorel is a great choice.
    If you shoot alot with heavy comp guns or want a super light hunting tripod the higher end tripods may appeal to you.

    I went with just the saddle/clamp adapter rather than the whole rig. But I found my setup had a bit of shift after I let go of my rifle (about 8MOA shift). Just from the flex of various metal parts. Is their tripod head similar in flex? ua-cam.com/video/Q4gSvjFqs10/v-deo.html

      @Moondog2A 3 роки тому

      @@coreyd1474 Not a POI shift. More of a POA shift. There's a spongyness in how it exactly it locks into place after I let go support on the rifle.

    I have very little use of my left arm due to an injury, can it be set up with one arm?

    • @coreyd1474
      @coreyd1474  2 роки тому

      the only issue you may have is getting the rifle in the grip and tightening it. you'll need to at least hold it with your shoulder or something while you tighten the clamp. other than than you could probably get by with one hand.
