@blewgrassboy8461 That's ok. Just because I don't find someone attractive doesn't make that person ugly. Nor do I need to belittle that person or convince them they should lower their standards. Her standards were reasonable. Most of these guys are 5 and below, if she's a 3 then she's perfect for them.

You’re absolutely fine for not wanting to be a “ride or die” for a boyfriend. The only time you should be loyal to a man is if there is a major commitment involved (i.e. marriage, children). But there should be boundaries. Helping your husband or the father of your children when he’s down may be an investment, especially if he has invested in you beforehand. But if he’s a lazy man who is refusing to work, a cheater, etc. you absolutely shouldn’t be with a man like this, but those qualities are on display well before marriage. Don’t let these lame men tell you that you’re wrong.

I don't think there's anything wrong with having standards. However, if you have standards you must be able to clearly articulate what you mean especially when it comes to "ride or die" and male psychology. Men have a very high sensitivity to women's loyalty in the same way women have a high sensitivity to a man's ability to lead, provide, and protect.
This young lady must clearly articulate her standards to the men she's seriously dating because her saying she's not "ride or die" could easily be mistaken as she's disloyal. If I were her I would remove the "ride or die" phrase entirely and just say she expects her man to be loyal just as she's loyal and she expects her man to have a plan, ambition, and goals.
The ability to communicate and express yourself clearly and concisely is a skill that must be mastered in the realm of dating and relationships. Leave no room for misinterpretation of what you expect and will tolerate in relationships. It's too costly of a mistake otherwise.

Men are extremely visual and most are not attracted to obese women. We think it's unfair b/c we highlight our personalities and achievements, but those are no substitute. Humans likely evolved like this b/c how we look is a good indicator of health and fertility, for example obesity is an unconscious signal that the person has a metabolic disorder such as diabetes (which is mean disease, btw). There's also something in women called the waist to hip ratio, a 2:3 measurement excites males the most, and the sexier more fertile guys have a V shaped body. Of course as we age, our bodies move away from the unconscious ideal, but if we are young adults we increase the odds of a attracting a larger dating pool. Investing in a personal trainer and going to a dietician and working a program consistently is the healthiest way get healthy, otherwise most people end up battling their foodie addictions until their health declines. Good luck.

I did find the video where she participated in the balloon popping game with a group of guys. Surprisingly, they were educated and well-rounded, which isn't usually the case in such games. When her balloon popped, she immediately asked if it was because she was dark-skinned, but the guy denied it, stating it was solely based on looks. Throughout the video, they were quite respectful; no one called her a "3". She also popped some balloons herself. She connected with one guy but mentioned she likes to be the alpha. Eventually, others popped their balloons too. I think her comments were misleading. Nobody called her fat. She asked them about their type, and only one guy mentioned preferring women who go to the gym, but he didn't pop her balloon afterward. No one said she was a "three". I have always thought the reality tv type of dating shows like the bachelor, ready to love, pop the balloon, those shows usually favour mostly people who society consider physically attractive.
In reality dating is not really like that because usually with shows like this there are a lot of options to choose from at once and so the people who are considered conventionally attractive get the upper hand. Meanwhile in reality she
may be able to get a man even before other ladies society consider more attractive. This go for men too. If he is not a certain height, doesn’t look a certain way or is not dressed a certain way women on shows like this don’t like them.

  • @JB19_92

She’s cute, shapely but isn’t fat, and I didn’t see the show but from the clips you showed, her personality didn’t seem like too much. An articulate woman that didn’t come off too abrasive. Life hack to all women though, if she just shrugged off his comment. He’d look like the cornball he is and you would come off as a feminine woman that holds herself to a different standard. Her ego was hurt when she responded to him but talked about his ego being fragile. You’re suffering from the same affliction.
With that being said, she could lose some weight if she desires marriage & children. We desire different things in a spouse and when women have children, more times than not, a woman will gain weight as a result of pregnancy. So you should be in your best shape before you get pregnant.
She’d be a catch for the right guy but there’s this trend of women thinking men should just take them as they are but have no desire to do the same. If you want the best outcome, you have to work for it. That goes for men and women. The men she wants may be settling for her because he desires something that values physical fitness

It’s a cultural thing honestly. Most men aren’t going into a relationship thinking “will she be with me if I lose everything” because most men are expected to hold a job, get an education, keep things going. BM feel insecure about their place in the world and want unconditional love that no other race of man is convinced exists. Men know exactly what women want - security. Complaining about women wanting security shows the man isn't sure he can provide it.

This is a classic situation in which a term or a phrase is used and women see it totally different than men.
The way she explained "ride or die" in the pop the balloon episode was strictly financial. She talked about falling on hard times with losing his job, financial hardship etc.
When men talk about "ride or die" they are taking a more wholistic approach. They are talking about emotional hardship (i.e. loss of a loved one), medical hardship, dealing with children/exes(maybe going to court)etc. Men are talking about the roller coaster of life. Sooooooooo many men have had stable jobs/income and fell on hard times in other areas.
Just like when people use the phrase "bringing something to the table", women are always talking about financial contributions and men take a more wholistic approach to the situation.

Honestly, it was because she’s plus sized. If she were thin they wouldn’t have fought her on her preferences

If she focused all that aggression, ego and energy into her body instead then she wouldn’t need to entertain dating shows; she’d already have the man she keeps turning off.

He was definitely looking for clout majority of those men on that show are struggling financially and looking to gain followers. She clearly was memorable if he keeps bringing it up

Girl, where you went wrong is it was a dating show that many women go for seeking validation. Not by the men in the show all of the time but def in the audience/comments. And is it really her personality coming off as “too much,” is that the truth or the opinion of anti-Black losers? She’s a smart, beautiful curvy, pretty woman. Wrong show for a quality girl who does not have to experience struggle love.

Why do people make this difficult. To have a better chance at getting the man you want.. you need to be what he is looking for. If an overweight woman(strike 1) tells me when hard times comes... I am out(strike 2) why would i pick you? In fact very few men will pick you. I know in order for me to be picked as a man, I need to be in shape, ambitious, and realistic. This woman is plus size and it makes you look bad when you cant see that. When you put that shirt on this morning it did not say small or medium. So many women and men play these games and your simply hurting yourself. You put your worst foot forward and expect people to accept this.
