I hate John Cena character period. All he does are the 6 moves of doom and "never gives up" his character was so lame and boring once he became "Super Cena." Now people are cheering him just because he's not around as much.....smh
Oh stop... after the Nexus disbanded, almost all of them had a second chance to thrive in the main roster. You're gonna say David Otunga, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Darren Young, Michael Tarver & Skip Sheffield had potential? They were never "buried", they just weren't good enough to reach the star power that John Cena, Randy Orton & The Undertaker had.
@@jays447And how can you become good if you don't book them Or give them an opportunity That's how stars grow You book them in feuds And book them on TV If John Cena Who was nearly fired by Vince himself can get a lifeline Why couldn't Heath Slater and guys like Justin Gabriel get the same opportunity as well If you not even being booked correctly
The Nexus story was an awesome story for the phenomenal way that the group was portrayed as a threat to the entire WWE brand It was the equivalent of an epic DBZ or Marvel story where all our favorite characters have to band together to face a threat no one hero can defeat alone.
I loved the concept of the Nexus, Just a group of young rookies taking over the WWE. They should’ve been in the conversation of one of the greatest factions ever. But they got buried by Super Cena and then it was basically over for them. Then when CM Punk was the leader after his ICONIC Pipebomb promo they were quietly dusted away
I’m sorry but…the potential to do what???? We gotta be serious. After leaving the Nexus, everybody in the group that had any potential whatsoever got characters. Something only Wade Barret really got to have in the group’s initial run. Bryan, Ryback, Husky Harris. Those were the only guys besides Wade who left the group and actually did anything great. And they all got over doing something they couldn’t really do in the group. I feel like people like the idea and the moments they had as group that took WWE by storm-but the Nexus was only ever going to be a big group of a bunch of guys and a shining star here or there. You can’t book that many guys no matter how interesting they are in theory.
Foreal lol People are saying that David Otunga, Justin Gabriel & Darren Young had potential... when they would come out during their second runs, they got nothing but crickets from the crowd
I would say the real reason they failed from my perspective is likely due to them failing to Get over with Vince himself…. At the time! My thing is A lot of new talent could NOT get over on Vince’s eyes on TV. And They were getting over with the fans alto, but I think Vince just buried the NEXUS because he didn’t seem to see too much in them, and another reason I would say is due to backstage politics that I’m told can cause bad hear sadly. Maybe they faced that with other superstars outside the team. I think that played a role in why they got demoted.
The Nexus sucks. The only good thing that came out of that stupid storyline was Daniel Bryan. The rest are either a jobber or already retired. Not a Cena fan but thank God he buried that shit fast.
Chris Jericho revealed on his podcast (with Edge) that even they disagreed with decision to have Nexus. Chris even walked up to Cena, and said this was wrong. But weird thing is, Chris Jericho is practically turning into Super Cena in AEW, and Cena himself is finally letting younger talent shine.
Cena was at the prime of his career and this buffoon Jericho wanted him to lose to the jobber group. At the same time, Jericho is a washed up 55-year-old drunkard who is still hogging the spotlight.
1:23 a certain rookie is also choking life out of the ring annoucer with his own tie 🤣 New Nexus had a hilarious segment when Punk whipped the crap out of Husky Harris
Know people see Summerslam is where they were completely buried but. Does anyone ever think even if they won, who is to say they would have been ruined another time or worst
No they weren't they were boring The Shield was way better because each of them are memorable and each brought something to the stable but the nexus just seemed like guys just slapped together
My hot take with The Nexus is that even if they had beaten Cena they would’ve gone on to do the same thing they all did. Barrett might’ve became WWE or WHC once but other than that the rest of them would’ve done the same things they all went on to do. Can you actually see Heath Slater as anything but a jobber?
Its all about momentum.you guys aint understand because having that momentum as talking stable and get involvement in major storyline can create them a certain momentum which can give the members a new confidence to elevate themselves to later dividing and new certain gimmicks and wrecks.them more potential storyline to follow.one more factor the improvement in aspects as a stable can elevate members to work even further because of gained experience and confidence which can ultimately change difference.
Nexus was supposed to win summerslam, Cena told vince that he should win then edge and Jericho convinced him that it wasn’t a good idea but still went through with it then after the backlash Cena apologized to them
Honestly, WWE should have sent them to SD. Cena took their spotlight off of them and they never been the same since. Summerslam and TLC is where they got dropped and buried.
Sure everybody blame Cena, nobody blame WWE for not trying to build them up well,Sure Cena was the top star but Vince is the boss he could have told Cena to lose and Cena would lose, so if any young talent gets buried don't blame the superstar blame the booking

And used to run away when the numbers got even.
