I really love the aesthetic of Karnaca. An warm, tropical city with Victorian plus early twentieth century vibe. I also really like the fashion of the people living there. Chic, modest, and comfortable.

It does feel very cozy and warm and comfortable. And then with the shadow of the outsider lurking everywhere, the door to nowhere remains open and the mystery of the supernatural adds an extra layer of ambience and an intriguing undertone that makes it a little more cozy somehow
To one listening at random might not get it, but to the ones who have played the game and have left a piece of their heart back in the game know exactly how strong the storyline is and how well executed the game was, absolutely outstanding.

Man, I can't stop marvelling at Dishonored universe. It's so detailed and realistic resembling the real world's 19 century countries and cultures yet totally unique and surrreal at the same time. I wish there were spin off games telling the story of simple, non choosen one people. Like a story of rural dweller of Gristol, story of a whaler venturing on long voyages, story of a painter or musician, story of a Serkonian smuggler. There would be a strong plot and interesting scenarios happening to them. Just imagine.
I totally agree! I’d also love to see more stories about people in other parts of the Isles like Morley and Tyvia. A horror survival game about a voyage to Pandyssia would also be really cool. There’s so many amazing stories one can tell in the world the creators have made.

This game holds such a special place in my heart because of how solid the storyline is, how rich the lore is, how fantastic the gameplay is, how beautiful the art design and music is, how top-notch the voice-acting is (especially Corvo's ;D) - just how well executed the game overall is, I mean absolutely outstanding. I originally played this game because I was looking for a game similar to BioShock, but this game absolutely exceeded all of those expectations. 10/10 all of the way - one of the best game series of all time.
Absolutely love this series. The world building is on another level. The level of detail in D2 is unbelievable. Every 3d object has a reason to be at that specific spot in the world. The wall paintings and the furniture is astounding. The game clearly is a passion project and thankfully not a derivative production line AAA milking of a franchise. Every level in D2 has a theme and is dripping with atmosphere. I could take screenshots literally every few steps and they would look beautiful every single time. I have used Ansel to take some utterly spectacular shots that could easily be framed in a museum. Arkane truely outdid themselves with D2.
I want nothing more than to make wherever I end up living like the nice apartments in Dunwall, or Karnaca for that matter. All warmly lit, clockwork steampunk feel, alchemy stuff strewn about.. Animal skulls, gadgets, a nice framed dagger on the wall maybe.
A beautifully crafted world, rich, consistent and strangely believable at the same time. Dishonored is easily one of the best gaming experiences in my life. This music wonderfully complements this piece of art. A true gem. RIP Daniel Licht...

I loved the lore and ambience of Dishonored so much. Imagine to teleport up on the roof of one of the highest buildings in Karnaca and sleep through the afternoon.

I commented here several years ago and got many responses understanding my feelings towards this piece and I just wanted to return to say that it only gets stronger as time goes on. In a way this is home. A place of comfort and familiarity to return to when times are rough. Dishonored is an interesting story to relate to and love because it is inherently one of blood, corruption, and death. However, I think it captivated us all by offering a world that was as dark as we were that still had slivers of humanity and hope that could be stoked and held onto even when the world was objectively falling apart. Good deeds that you could accomplish simply because they were good. Characters to control that you could steer to be good people or monsters. At least for me that dynamic gives a sense of value to good deeds and shows that all the evils of the world are ultimately someone else's choices and the game's story allows the player to strike out at those responsible. Something I feel a lot of us need in our dark hours. Regardless of why I love it Dishonored is still my Favorite game and these are still the most memorable pieces of music that I've ever known. Thank you again for bringing them together. Your edits are marvelous and should be recognized for years to come. To those in dark hours tonight please remember that life gets better. Much like Corvo, Emily, and Daud you can strike back against the things that cause your darkness, even those within your own mind. it won't be easy but life never is. Dishonored world (especially shown through the first game) is so enigmatic and... dreamlike, almost Lovecraftian. I love to turn on this game not to just walkthrough and kill enemies but just to stroll along the locations watching the sun setting over Wrenhaven and reminiscing about something... Very special atmosphere, I cant explain.
Even before I got into dishonored games I always knew how good the soundtracks of D1 and D2 are. The guitar playing exotic and sometimes gothic licks, ambient electronic elements, that weird horn instrument (don't know how it's called, you can hear it in the beginning of Dishonored 2's main theme). It's a shame I discovered this series only 3 months ago.
When Dishonored was announced I disdained it considering it to be a clone of Bioshock and Half Life. If I was said back then that its gonna be my favourite game I wouldnt believe it. Actually Dan Bull's Dishonored 1 rap is what sold me this game. Cant wait for Dishonored 3. Tyvia,please!

Dishonored world made me fall in love with it. I literally live in it. As a fellow said here if I was a billionare I would pay Arkane to make a new Dishonored game or would build my house in style of Dishonored, probably like Karnaka's.
My brother had found this game last year when one of the UA-camr’s he watched mentioned and/or talked about it, so he decided to check it out. Thankfully they were on PSNow so we could play them for free, but when I tried it out I first thought it was fun, but then when I got more into I realized god dang this game is amazing. It truly is such a gorgeous game with excellent storytelling and loads of lore. The joy of discovery in it is something truly amazing, probably the best feeling I’ve ever experienced in a video game. It’s my absolute favorite game. But not to mention all of the music in it is gorgeous, and really fits with the Dishonored world! I think the choice of lots of strings was really the right one for this series.
